Summer & Echo was a ride. A personal emotional ride for me, as moments of their life gave me flash backs to a love I once knew. The heart break it took me through and the small moments of joy. The way Summer and Echo loved each other was unmatched! Without the interference of adults they would have figured it out sooner, would they? Summer needed to go through to see what she truly needed and Echo needed that lost or her to grow into the man she required.

As always Robbi Renee did a beautiful job in bringing us Summer’s Echo.

This was a beautiful written Second chance love story. The flashbacks bring the story together. There’s a balance of tension and love of these characters that it makes it like a movie.

I love this author, so I was excited to get my hands on Summer Echo—and it wrecked me in the best possible way. This beautiful best friends-to-lovers, second-chance romance follows Summer and Echo from their teenage days at summer camp to an emotional, unexpected reunion years later. The dual timelines were done so well, showing their bond then and now, and the big secret that comes out? Absolutely heartbreaking. It’s a story full of love, loss, healing, and finding your way back to someone who never stopped feeling like home. Highly recommend if you love a good emotional read that’ll leave you crying and smiling at the same time.

This was the slowww burn of my dreams! I ate it up! 🔥 A justified runaway bride? Yes ma’am. Summer Knight couldn’t walk down that aisle especially cause her heart was never really in it—because it always belonged to someone else. The way this story flips between the present and their teen years?? I was in my feels the entire time.

Two best friends, clearly meant for each other but too blind to see it. I kept screaming at the pages like, “HELLOOO??” It gave major movie vibes—romantic, nostalgic, and messy in the best way. Every flashback had me like, where did it all go wrong?? Because from the outside, the relationship seemed perfect.

Summer and Deshawn’s situation wrapped up maturely (thank God), but UGHHH ECHO’S DADDY?? Trash. Just trash. And don’t even get me started on THE INCIDENT!! plot twist—I was SHOOKETH. But thank fuck they actually worked through their mess and found each other again.

And Summer?? BABYYYY the surprise visit had me hollering! That “It’s always been you” energy?? Whew. The lines, the emotions, the way they saw each other again for the first time?? I was SOBBING. 😭

The proposal?? Tears. Like real ones.
The epilogue?? CHEF’S KISS.
This is thee most beautiful second chance romance I’ve read in a minute. 💘

I don’t even know where to begin. Robbi Renee did not disappoint. I could not put this book down. I truly loved Echo and Summer. The development of their love was amazing. The way that Echo loved Summer was exceptional. This story I could read over and over again. It was not only well written but it really took you on a journey. Chef’s kiss!!!!

This was the first book I’ve read by Robbi Renee, and I found it really beautiful. I love friends-to-lovers romances, though second-chance stories can sometimes go either way for me. But with Summer and Echo, you can tell right away they’re meant to be. Their quiet love grows naturally from their friendship over one summer. The reason for their breakup is clear and comes up early in the story, which helps make sense of their journey. The pacing is slow—I didn’t feel fully hooked until around page 100. I also wish we got to see a bit more depth in the characters and their lives with their loved ones.

Thanks to NetGalley and Black Odyssey Media for the ARC.

I was excited to dive into this ARC as Robbi Renee is a relatively new to me author. Robbie’s writing style kept me interested from the beginning. I loved the rekindling of Summer & Echo’s relationships was build and not rushed since they had a past. I enjoyed how Robbi took us back and then brought us back to the present without getting us lost. Both Summer and Echo got to tell their version in order to bring us back to the present and fall in love with them.

If you’re a fan of black romance and rekindling relationships, second chance love this is worth the read.

Okay, this book wrecked me in the best way! It's such a beautiful story about best friends to lovers, and a second chance. We meet Summer and Echo when they were teenagers at summer camp, and their bond is everything. They were always together, but things changed. Then, years later, a runaway bride leads to a reunion. The dual timelines and past and present. It's a story of healing, forgiveness, and finding your way back to love. The big secret that's revealed is heartbreaking, but the best part is that, even after years apart, their connection never faded. Highly recommend this one if you love a good cry! This book was so beautifully written, this book follows Summer and Echo they meet in summer camp as teens and they have that whirlwind love that just grips you and won’t let go. Unfortunately life happens and it causes them to lose 15 years with each other. Despite what they’ve been through they find their way back to each other and I love that for them because Echo was a man honey, he was so attentive, I loved that he wasn’t afraid to be vulnerable with Summer considering how closed off his dad could be at times. This book will give you all of the feels. The ups and downs of their relationship had me hurting for them but this was an amazing read it was such a good time.

This was my first read by this author, and it certainly won’t be my last. This story is EVERYTHING!!! Slow burn, friends to lovers and second chance romance. Guaranteed to make you feel ALLLLLL the feels. These two got my full attention and I found myself immersed in their connection from the very beginning.

The writing is emotional and was such beautiful story telling, it made me feel every piece of happiness, joy, sadness and tension as this story unfolded. From page one to the final page I literally did not want it to end!! 💛

I was loving how down bad Echo is, in those years they spent apart he had constantly Summer in his mind. while Summer's character is relatable to me, because of her insecurities and her doubts, I felt really uncomfortable because of her words, this is the reason why I'm dnfing. In two moments there were comments that I didn't like: first, at the beginning, Summer mentioned that because of her insecurities she started covering up herself, so that her parents thought she wasn't into men, then she heard her mom praying and asking God that her daughter was into men, a shocking comment that Summer found funny. Secondly, she described a girl "the camp hoe" with an "easy-access demeanor". So, those comments were made when both characters were teenagers, during those flashback scenes taking place in 2004, 15 years before the present timeline, at that time there weren't the same sensibility and mentality as today but they could have been avoided.

Robbi Renee does it again! I feel honored to have gotten an ARC from NetGalley. I’ve read Somebody’s Husband and Somebody’s Wife by this author and I really enjoyed both. Summer’s Echo is a story of two best friends who are soulmates but it took them some time to figure that out. They met at summer camp their last year of high school and were inseparable. I love that the book went from current time to the past to explain Summer and Echo’s complicated history and relationship. Echo is a man. A real man. Even as a teenager, his maturity and emotional intelligence I think are part of the reason they were able to have a future together. This book had me smiling and cheesing like I knew Summer and Echo personally.

This story made my heart warm. This is the kind of romance book you can’t put down. Summer and Echo have been best friends for years until a pivotal moment changes everything. More than a decade later, they reunite under intense and unexpected circumstances. Told through dual POVs and time jumps, their connection remains undeniable no matter the era. The story is compelling, capturing how young love can grow into something deeper over time. You can feel the love in the pages of this story.

Summer’s Echo is a tender, nostalgic second-chance romance that truly warmed my heart. Told from both Summer and Echo’s perspectives, the story moves between their unforgettable summer as camp counselors and the present day, when life brings them back together.

I loved the flashbacks to their camp days—their sweet banter, secret glances, and the innocent magic of young love. You could really feel their connection, both then and now, in the quiet moments and the things left unsaid.

This story beautifully explores timing, healing, and lingering feelings that never quite fade. It made me think about my own teenage years and those “what if” memories we all carry.

The pacing was gentle, letting you soak in the emotions and growth of the characters. And when the truth finally unfolds, it’s done with care, making you reflect on forgiveness and second chances.

This was my first book by Robbi Renee—and it won’t be my last! I absolutely recommend Summer’s Echo to anyone who loves emotional, heartwarming romances that stay with you long after the last page.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely loved this book. The poetic way it was written down to the yearning you could feel radiating from the pages/screen. The character development was chefs kiss. I couldn’t help but want more from the author yet, felt satisfied at the very end. This book made me a fan of this author… this won’t be the last book I read from them

Summer’s Echo by Robbi Renee is a breathtaking story of inevitable love, the kind that finds you, holds on tight, and echoes through every season of your life. Watching this couple’s journey unfold from the moment they met as kids to the real-life struggles that tug at their once-fairytale love felt so raw and deeply personal.

Reading it was like riding an emotional rollercoaster: it builds with slow anticipation, your heart racing as you climb, your stomach dropping around the unexpected curves, but when you pull back into the station, you’re left giddy, heart full, and smiling through the tears.

Robbi Renee captures the ache and magic of growing up and growing through love in such a tender, beautiful way. I didn’t want it to end, and could've instantly reread it.
