This was an entertaining read. The author did a great job of covering heavy topics while still keeping the romance and humor a significant part of the story.

Love Sick was a quick, enjoyable read with a strong medical setting that really captured the intensity of residency. I appreciated the way it highlighted the impact of gossip and how isolating it can be in tight-knit environments like hospitals. While some of the character quirks didn’t quite land for me, I still found it to be a solid debut with plenty of drama and tension.

This book was not for me and had many issues.
First off, it is 2025 can we please stop with the Harry Potter references? And to have multiple of them throughout the book? Just why? It brought nothing to the story and honestly just made me more and more angry with the book as they kept rolling in.
As to the main characters Grace and Julian, they were both just insufferable to deal with. Julian was so quick to judge Grace in the beginning and in his internal dialog continually remind the reader that he has 3 older sisters and is a feminist. Meanwhile Grace just doesn't trust anyone but at the same time is very unaware of her interactions with people and how shes kind of awful. Their romance was overall just lacking amd.left me not caring.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this arc, all thoughts are my own.

Thanks to Harlequin Audio for the gifted copy!
Perfect for fans of medical dramas, LOVE SICK is a romance between medical residents amidst what will be one of the hardest years of their lives. Grace Rose is an OB-GYN resident struggling to fight rumors about her promiscuity, and Julian is VERY over all the studying. The enemies DO in fact become lovers, we get some top-tier drama both in and out of the hospital, and also fantastic social anxiety and ADHD rep. This is a fun one for a steamier summer read!
I absolutely loved Meg Sylvan & Eric Yang's narration for this book!

Love Sick is a medical rom-com that takes place between two OBGYN residents. An unfortunate rumor gets started right from the beginning for poor Grace, and she walks in on Julian telling other residents what he heard. He immediately regrets repeating the rumor, but the damage is done, creating animosity and a large rift between the two of them.
The only thing either of them can do is continue to show each other and everyone else who they really are. Thankfully, this is noticed and acknowledged by both Julian and Grace. The chemistry between Grace and Julian was evident from the start, even when they were sniping at one another. They had chemistry and banter for days.
I love that this was written by an actual doctor. The details were realistic and made sense. There were so many little things that made me giggle, having worked in healthcare for a long time (not a doctor!)
I had so much fun with this audiobook. This is as an amazing debut for the author. I would absolutely read it if she decides to continue her writing journey, which she should! A huge shout-out to NetGalley & Harlequin Audio for this ALC.

This was just okay for me. So much of the first part of the book was so heavy on the doctor info and then it slowly shifted towards the romance, but I just did not like the FMC - she went through a lot and I understand her hesitation, but her chapters felt so repetitive. Great narration though!

I absolutely loved this audio!! The narrators were so good and the story itself was so much fun!!
I loved the build up of the relationship between Julian and Grace. Their banter was so, so good and gave me all the feels! This will be a must read for me and a book I will recommend frequently!!

Two freshly minted doctors meet on day one of their residency at a Texas hospital—and immediately fall into mutual loathing. What follows is a mess of misunderstandings, rumors, and emotional immaturity, all of which might have been compelling if any of the characters had been remotely likable.
Unfortunately, pretty much everyone in this book is awful. The two leads are cruel and petty to each other with little provocation, until they abruptly decide not to be—for reasons that feel more driven by plot convenience than actual growth. Their so-called friends are more like drinking buddies than meaningful support systems, and the group collectively comes off as snobbish and dismissive—especially toward nurses and patients, which is hard to stomach in a medical setting.
Even the one character who initially seems kind and grounded is ultimately villainized by the end, which felt unnecessary and left a sour note. I didn’t enjoy spending time with anyone in this story and found myself repeatedly tempted to DNF.
Thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin Audio for providing access to the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

I truly enjoyed this story! The character’s build up was dramatic but simple at the same time. They paced and grew and coupled up when it was the right time. The side characters helped guide the story without being meddling. Having anxiety myself, the anxious nature of Grace/Sapphire was written so authentically. Her mind reeling was relatable and real and frustrating. This was a fun summer read!

This is the first book I’ve read, rather listened to by this author. The characters were well developed and well written. Being a female in a male dominated field, I could relate to the FMCs feelings. The story line flows well and the narrators did an amazing job.

You can tell this was written by a medical professional and at times, I appreciated that. Other times, I got a little lost. The misogyny is thick in this one and hard to read at times due to how real it all felt. I loved the banter and tension that takes place through most of the book. Definitely showcases the perfect slow burn between our MCs. I also really loved the group of friends/coworkers! There was plenty of comedic relief to balance out the seriousness from the main characters issues. This story handles tough topics in a pretty respectable way as well. I very much appreciated the mental health representation! I'm excited to see more from this author.
Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Audio for the ALC.

This was a super cute hospital romance. I really appreciated that it was between two doctors and not a nurse and a doctor. Being in healthcare it’s annoying that anyone thinks a female in healthcare is just trying to sleep with a doctor. So I really appreciated this book and you can tell it was written by someone actually knowledgeable about working in healthcare. Definitely worth the read. Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Audio for the ARC of this book.

This witty contemporary romance novel features an engaging "enemies to lovers" dynamic between Julian and Grace as they navigate their OB/GYN residency. The story effectively highlights the challenges women face in the healthcare field, both as professionals and as patients. The author, Deidra Duncan, creates a realistic conflict that drives the sultry slow burn between Grace and Julian. Grace must contend with rumors that she slept her way into the residency program, which leads her to keep Julian at a distance while she works on repairing her image, all while exchanging playful banter. Additionally, the narration of this audiobook enhanced the enjoyment of the story.

This was a cute Grey's anatomy feel kind of book and I enjoyed reading it. I liked Grace and thought Julian was fantastic throughout. I was stressed throughout a lot of the book, which is sometimes a little tricky for me when reading a romance. There were some pretty awful men in this book and I wanted more for Grace and she navigated the misogyny. I also am not a fan of the third act break up and this one was pretty weak. But overall I enjoyed this book. The banter was great and my favorite parts were the I saw this and thought of you.
The narration of audiobook was very good and I enjoyed both narrators. They really added to the story. Thank you NetGalley for the advance listening copy.

Love Sick is a delightful debut novel by Deidre Duncan. The story follows a cadre of young ob/gyn residents at Texas University Medical School through the trials of the most difficult times of their young lives. Primary focus is on Sapphire Grace Rose whose name opens the door for rumors and issues when it is spread that she was accepted to the program for doing special favors for the higher ups. Not only does Grace have the work and training to contend with, but she also is busy battling each new round of rumors as well as people’s preconceived notions.
Luckily, her small group of fellow first years quickly come to know Grace and come to her aid. Especially Julian Santini. Julian grew up with his widowed mom and four older sisters. When he was 15 a doctor not taking his mother’s symptoms seriously almost left the Santinis orphaned. He swore he would become a doctor that would do absolutely everything in his power to be sure that never happened on his watch. However, his dislexia is working against him until Grace steps in to help.
This is such a delightful tale but also puts forth some more difficult topics in medicine and in relationships. There are unexpected twists that help propel the storytelling. I very much enjoyed this book and not only recommend it but look forward to the author’s next novel!

First-year OB-GYN resident Grace Rose is determined to disprove a nasty rumor that she slept her way into the program, a goal made more difficult by her instant clash with her annoyingly charming colleague, Julian Santini. Forced to work together, Grace and Julian's initial animosity slowly blossoms into an undeniable attraction as they navigate the high-stakes world of medical residency.
Love Sick is a compelling and witty romance that successfully blends the drama of a medical setting with a classic enemies-to-lovers storyline. Deidra Duncan, a practicing OB-GYN herself, brings a noticeable authenticity to the challenges and triumphs of residency, making the characters' struggles and the environment they inhabit feel incredibly real. The banter between the protagonists is sharp and engaging, and their slow-burn romance is well-paced, allowing for believable character development. While some may find the medical jargon a bit dense at times, the strong character arcs, supportive friendships, and palpable chemistry between the leads make this a highly enjoyable read for fans of workplace romances.

A classic enemies-to-lovers, greys anatomy meets rom com It's a unique storyline. I've read LOTS of books but haven't read anything like this before.

Can we please stop with the third act breakups. It was a cute book overall with a Grey’s Anatomy vibe. The whole book was a little too focused on sex jokes and rumors but I did enjoy their banter in the first half of the book. I do also love when the siblings are protective over each other like Tor was with Jullian. Also why did Jullian never show her the photo from Halloween??
“Seriously flawed? The only thing about her that’s seriously flawed is her belief she’s not good enough.”
“Love. An interesting concept from the outside. On the inside, it’s like standing in a diamond while sunlight shines through. Facets of light reflect in every corner. Dazzling rainbows sparkle over each surface. All is warm and bright and endless.”

Listened to this on audio! Honestly the formula had potential but just wasn’t there for me. I might be biased because I work in the medical field, but this just didn’t happen and give me all of the warmer fuzzies like I thought it would. I thought the FMC was very immature.
The story is about 2 residents going from enemies to falling in love. The plot was just not a great plot and I didn’t love the character growth. I love the representation of Women in STEM struggles. My biggest Com of this book was that there were WWWWWay too many slang terms and phrases, absolutely hate that. This is my first book by this author, and I didn’t hate this book, but I didn’t love it, I would be willing to try her again!

Thank you Netgalley for the audiobook! This was an okay read for me. I loved the premise but don't think the execution was that great. The narration however was great and kept me engaged.
