💛 Better than Grey’s Anatomy and Scrubs combined! 🩵

If you’ve ever fallen victim to the rumor mill or yearned to smash the patriarchy, Love Sick is for you! Grace and Julian are rivals, turned friends, turned secret lovers. Im so impressed with this story and the authenticity of the characters. They were flawed and broken and so real. Because we heard Grace’s inner thoughts, we feel her pain and turmoil as if they are our very own. This read hurt so good. 🥹
I swooned at every Dramione Easter egg! When she called Julian a Death Eater and compared him to Draco I was LOST FOR HIM! 🫠

Audio Specific Review:
Meg Sylvan and Eric Yang brought Grace and Julian to life with this audiobook! I always appreciate these chosen narrators’ ability to tell apart the male and female dialogue during the dual POV chapters. The thoughts of the characters were easy to distinguish from the dialogue between characters as well. These are two very talented voice actors and I am thoroughly impressed! Bravo! 👏

I did not know how much I needed a resident romance. I work in the medical field with residents and really enjoyed this side of things.

I liked the premise of the story. The pull between Julian and Grace was inevitable. I was so happy when they finally gave in to it.

I think my favorite part of the story were the little humorous comments about things. There were little quips and I had quite a few laugh out loud moments.

The narrators did a great job - I enjoyed all of the different portrayals of emotion.

I requested this book on netgalley because I love medical romance especially ones written by physicians. I am a current medical student and love how I can find aspects of the physician characters so relatable (especially ones completing medical training). For this book, I think it did capture a lot of the struggles of medical training but didn't love how much focus there was on this rumor and how it almost became a character throughout a majority of the book. Also, while I did appreciate the DO representation (as a current DO student myself), I wish there was more there about how DOs, while yes have many stereotypes, is not an inferior degree / physician. The MD FMC and DO MMC were seen here completing the same residency which is very important, but the MMC sounded like he struggled a lot with being a DO. I think this book did capture some of the struggles of specific parts of OBGYN training and stereotypes, which is important for readers outside of medicine too. see. I thought it was really fun how the author brought in some of the things she experienced during medical training. Overall, I would recommend this book to people who enjoy medical romances, workplace romances, and enemies to lovers. The ending wrapped up a little quickly for me and wish we got to see a little bit more of them together. I look forward to future books by this author and will be checking them out.

I did really enjoy the story behind the Vagician poster. I listened to the audiobook for most of this read and thought the narrators did a great job. It was a dual narration and they really brought their emotions with them to add into the read, which made the book a good listen.

First of all, HUGE Meg Sylvan fan! She did a fantastic job at narrating this and so did Eric Yang.

I enjoyed this story a lot. It was fun being in the hospital setting. It was fun and frustrating watching Grace and Julian figure it out. I loved the HEA and would absolutely read more about these two! WHERE DID THEY END UP?!

Thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin Audio for allowing me to listen and review this title.

This book reminded me of the first season of Grey’s Anatomy, and I absolutely loved it. The dynamic between all of the characters was entertaining, and the narrators did a great job making each character distinct.

The enemies-to-lovers trope is one I used to enjoy, but lately, it never really feels like the characters are true enemies. This book, however, captures that dynamic perfectly, and I loved the drama, the back-and-forth banter, and the wit. It was exactly what I didn’t know I needed.

Grace is an interesting character, and it was frustrating to witness how some of the other characters treated her solely because of her first name. Then there's Julian, who constantly reminds her of her identity, yet you can't help but love him because he’s such a troublemaker.

I haven’t read a book quite like this before, and that novelty hooked me and wouldn't let go. I highly recommend this book.

4/5 ⭐️
1.5/5 🌶️

As someone who has spent 15 years in academic medicine, this book resonated SO MUCH with me as a woman in medicine. It doesn’t matter your specialty, it is a total boys club. I hate to say that a lot of what happened in this book doesn’t happen, but it does. And I have personally been on the receiving end. I had so many emotions while reading this. I just wanted to give the FMC, Grace, a big hug, and tell her IT DOES get better. People do forget. It won’t follow you your whole career, even if you do all your schooling and training at the same place!

If you’ve ever been curious about what really happens behind the scenes while doctors train and try to have some sort of social life…. Give this book a try! The audiobook was great. I loved Meg Sylvan as Grace. She has such a unique voice that just bleeds the characters wide array of emotions. I think it’s hard to do, but she is one of the few who can.

This book was incredibly charming. I’ll admit it—I’ve never been able to stomach Grey’s Anatomy (blood makes me woozy!), but after listening to this audiobook, I’m seriously considering giving it a try.

The story is packed with drama, layered timelines, pining, longing, hope, heartbreak, fear, loss, joy, anger, and frustration—all wrapped up in just over 10 hours of listening.

I’ve never read a rom-com centered around med students before, and it was such a refreshing perspective. With several friends currently in med school, this story gave me a deeper empathy for what they’re going through. I especially appreciated that the characters were all in OB-GYN—it brought important, timely issues to the forefront in a meaningful way.

I can’t wait to read whatever Diedra writes next. If it’s anything like this one, it’s bound to be another hit.

Love sick by Deidra Duncan was so great! I cannot believe this is the authors debut novel and to think that this was written by an actual doctor. When I started this book the first thought that came to me was, if Greys anatomy and the hating game had a baby it would be this book, with maybe a little bit of scrubs. In this book we follow the life of Grace and Julian, OB-GYN residents, in their residency exploring what it truly means to have what it takes to be an attending and dealing with everything this job requires. Sleep deprivation, long hours of study and practices and excessive hours In the hospital/OR. Through everything they learn from one another and find themselves in a whirlwind romance with many challenges. I love that this book was an enemy to lovers , close proximity workplace romance. I love the character development with the characters involved and the power of love and friendship. I think the fact that this was dual POV made it so enjoyable. The narrators did such a good job with this one. If you enjoy any of the tropes I mentioned you will absolutely love this one. I did rate this book overall a 4.25 stars it was so good I highly recommend it. I will definitely keep an eye out for this author for anything they may write in the future.

Love Sick was such a cute, fun enemies-to-lovers romance set in a hospital between two OB/GYN residents, Grace and Julian. I absolutely loved their chemistry — the banter between them was so well written, and you could really feel the way they challenged and supported each other.

I really enjoyed that the story was told in dual POV; it added depth to their dynamic. That said, I do wish we had gotten even more from Julian’s perspective — I loved being inside his head and would’ve loved more chapters from him.

I also appreciated that the book showcased OB/GYN medicine. It was refreshing and interesting to see that side of the medical field woven into the story without being overwhelming.

I listened to the audiobook and thought it was really well performed. The narrators brought the characters to life and made the banter even more enjoyable.

Overall, this was a super cute read with great chemistry, witty dialogue, and a fun hospital setting. Perfect if you love a light, enemies-to-lovers romance!

O.M.G. This is the authors Debut Book???? I am BLOWN away with the writing and the accuracy with the medical procedures. A book about doctors, written by a doctor, might be my favorite part about this. The drama, the time jumps, the voice actors & the duel Pov. This was such a fun read/listen for me.

Little bit of spoilers: here is your WARNING

Grace was a wonderful FMC, a little goofy bit just how we like our girl. she's from California with a different name from her hippie parent's so she goes by her middle name. the way the author portrayed her insecurities didn't take away from her at all. It made you feel for Grace and imagine what she had gone through without the feeling of Trama being forced down your throat. I was just wanting to give the poor girl a hug when she was having her lower moments.

Julian was raised but his mom and his older sisters. He was such a great book boyfriend that had his own insecurities that happen in a real relationship. I loved watching him fall HARD for the girl he didn't want to initially associate with.

They were so cute together in the bickering Firey moments and the sweet tender moments. I will be buying this book as I see myself re reading this one over and over again as I’m such a sucker for a doctor romance, and this one was perfection. I binged it in four days!

This was such a fun "enemies to lovers" trope. I enjoyed the medical aspect Julian and Grace going through med school/rotations. I liked the constant bantering back and forth. I loved how it brought up the issue with rumors and how detrimental that can be to a woman's career. Overall a great read and I would recommend this book to anyone, especially those who enjoy hospital drama.

This was super cute! I loved the enemies to lovers. As well as the workplace romance aspect.
I really liked how it showed the slow burn aspect too.

Thank you NetGalley and Deidra Duncan for the opportunity to ARC read/listen to this audiobook!

I thought the performance by both actors was great and would listen to them again. They both had great expressions and personality to their voices.

Two residents meet at a mixer and it's clear right away they will be enemies after a rumor surfaces about Grace. Over the years of their residency they become friends and romance blossoms.

I almost gave this 4 stars because I thought Graces issues with holding back were all from being called an ice queen. I was like girl get over it this man is NICE. But once she reviles her past trauma I realized she had every right to be cautious.

I highly recommended this book to everyone who loves a good medical rom com with a few twists and turns!

Unfortunately, this one didn’t work well for me. At first I was really interested in the medical setting- as any Grey's fan would be! I typically love an enemies to lovers trope but the dynamic between both Grace and Julian didn’t feel legit. The romance was also lacking as well as overall interest in the storyline.

such a great book on audio!!!! being a nurse, i truly loved this book!!! would absolutely recommend to all rom com lovers

- medical workplace romance: OBGYN residents
- dislike to love
- secret romance
- he falls first
- 🌶️🌶️/5
- dual pov
- dual narration by Eric Yang and Meg Sylvan

Love Sick is like stepping back into the early seasons of Grey’s Anatomy!

Grace and Julian immediately get off on the wrong foot thanks to a rumour about her that he believes. Their animosity towards each other is more on the fun side, with jokes, banter, and ridiculous (flirty) texts to each other. But it definitely heightens the tension and their chemistry before things get spicy and secretive.

Julian falls first and hard, allowing Grace to set the pace but showing her he's all in. However, Grace's past relationship causes her to have major trust issues, which ultimately breaks them apart before she tells him everything and they move forward together.

With flying false accusations, a focus on misogyny in the workplace, a deep dive into the chaos of the first two years of resident life, and an eclectic supporting cast, this truly does feel like you're reading Grey's Anatomy.

As for the audio, Eric Yang and Meg Sylvan are fantastic narrators. They handle the dual narration so well, and I would 100% listen to them again.

Thank you, Harlequin Audio, for the early copy!

Almost did not read just based on the fact that MMC is an OB-GYN resident, and *hot take* I don’t think men should have a place in women’s health. Not even 10% in and I was kinda hating Julien. His POV has whiffs of objectification, his choices feel manipulative, and his gaslighting is top tier. He is mad about being called a misogynist, yet behaved 💯 as a misogynist would.

Every interaction Grace has with men, from her peers to the attending Drs, these dudes are behaving atrociously (shocking no woman anywhere). Julien looks good in comparison, and while he made strides, I’m not sure if he fully won me over in the end. With the subtle bullying, you’d think I’d be obsessed, but too much of this story reeks of real life, I really struggled with the whole plot revolving around slut shaming rumors. It was brutal and broke my heart, especially because Grace is anxiety riddled and insecure. She really got beat up all around, and I really don’t like that for any FMC.

Despite my downright indigence, (or perhaps because of it) I flew through this book and could not put it down. Call me toxic.

Thank you Net Galley and Harlequin Audio for the ARC

Definitely the hating game meets Grey’s anatomy. Loved the enemies to lovers and how the story dealt with nasty rumors and how they can spiral. Narrators were very good.

Wanted to enjoy this but was just not a fan. I love doctor romances but I just had so many icks as I went through.

I always feel a little hesitant about male ob’s, just a personal preference. But also why was he just sexualizing her for the entire first half of the story. Grace worked so hard to avoid that slutty/stripper reputation she definitely didn’t deserve and he was fully aware of that. Yet every paragraph from his pov is like “wow her boobs” and then somehow also “why are people so mean to her, the rumors aren’t true!” I got whiplash. Chemistry was also just non existent.

I can appreciate this doctor book being written by a doctor, but when it comes to the romance itself, it fell flat for me.

Was confused for how many 5 star ratings I saw but alas, that’s the beauty of books. Not everything will be for everyone. If this sounds up your alley, go for it!

Love Sick by Deidra Duncan is a cute and enjoyable listen with a light touch of emotional depth. While the story is mostly fun and flirty, there are a few real-life challenges that give the characters some dimension. As someone working in graduate medical education, I appreciated hearing familiar language and settings that made the story feel more relatable. The narration by Meg Sylvan and Eric Yang was engaging and brought the characters to life in a charming way.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Audio for my copy. All thoughts are my own.
