This was a short and fun bodyguard/prince/prince MMM poly romantasy. All lovely aspects that juuust barely worked together. It's mostly focused on the romance aspect, and the spice was great!! I found the fantasy world to be really unique and honestly wanted a lot more of it since it was glossed over too much. And the ending was exciting, but the scale was kinda blown out of proportion to the lack of action in the rest of the book. Don't want to say more without spoilers, but it's worth reading!

Queer rep: MMM poly triad relationship, gay male main characters. Secondary gay male characters, MM relationship.

Ooo where do I start this book was everything and more to me. I loved how everything came together and made this story what it is. I really enjoyed reading this one. Thank you Entangled for the opportunity.

Thank you Netgalley, Entangled Publishing, and Cari Z for sending me this advance review copy for free. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I ended up DNFing about 25% in. The pacing was really bad, and it was so hard to want to pick my Kindle back up and keep reading. The heavy info dumping was a huge turnoff. There was too much to keep track of, and I kept getting lost.

I really loved the blurb and idea of this book, but the beginning was too poorly executed for me to keep going.

A M/M/M romantic fantasy is not my typical choice, but I am SO glad I read it. I was hooked from the start.

If you're looking for a fun read with great, yet easy-to-follow world building, multiple main characters full of personality, and well-written spice, then you will enjoy this book!

I love the writing style of the author, the different POVs, and the creative God's characters. I will definitely look out for future books by this author. Thank you for broadening the horizon of my normal, go-to book picks.

I felt this book started very slow and was a little hard for me to get into. Once it picked up I was hooked and very much enjoyed it. I thought the world was very interesting including the magic system.

This was my first Poly/ MMM book I've read so I wasn't sure what to expect or if I'd be interested. The world building was amazing and the romance was almost overtaken by the fantasy elements but overall it was enjoyable. The action was there and kept me wanting more. The spice was high and the relationship building I felt was even stronger, which was overall my favorite part. When it comes down to it, I would love a sequel.

A why choose fantasy with intricate world building, three MMC's, and a world of secrets, betrayal, and spice!

Two princes and a bodyguard, battles to defend their realm, safety depends on who you trust, and there are plenty of options for love. Sometimes difficult choices are easier when you have more than one person willing do die for you.

For readers who love a detailed world building plot arc, lots of characters, and a plot twist go grab this.

Winds of Destiny is an MMM fantasy book with tension, longing, and spice while also having an interesting magic system and an action-packed plot. Kai, Cam, and Turo create a Warrior x Prince x Spymaster trio who discover danger and secrets in their world where the Gods live among the people and magic is dying.
Overall, a quick, enjoyable read that I would recommend!

This romantasy tale follows two princes and a devoted bodyguard. Camrael, betrothed to Prince Eleas, is being escorted to his future kingdom by his loyal protector, Turo—his childhood friend and secret love. Among their party is also Prince Eleas himself, traveling in disguise under the name Kai, accompanied by several of his trusted men. Along the way, they face numerous trials: dangerous obstacles, relentless pursuit by the murderous King Embros, and unexpected betrayals. Yet amid the turmoil, they find not only companionship and trust, but also love and a bond that transcends duty.

Cam, though sometimes appearing fickle, simply wears his heart on his sleeve and leads with emotion and compassion. Kai is the gentle giant—patient, deeply understanding, and perhaps a touch overprotective. Turo, ever the steady presence, is the most grounded of the trio—except when Cam’s safety is at stake, which brings out his more reckless side. The three share a deep, mutual affection, and their love flows freely and sincerely between them.

The story offers rich world-building and a well-paced plot that makes for a quick, engaging read. The ending leaves room for future adventures, hinting at a promising sequel to come.

This was such a great story. The three men are all mouthwatering. This romance is so good. The action and adventure of this story keeps you wondering what will happen next. The kingdoms are very interesting, and I would love to find out more about them. I loved the gods and the different forms that they come in and how people worship them. Overall, a great spicy romance with an amazing story.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me an ARC of this book for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

So. I really only requested this book because I thought it would be a fun spicy read, as I do like those every so often. The description didn't seem great, I did not have high expectations at all. But I was hooked immediately! The characters were lovable and the relationship between the three MCs was sweet and spicy in equal measure. If you want that, you will not be disappointed for sure.

BUT THE WORLDBUILDING??? I was completely caught off guard by how fucking cool it all was with the animal gods that literally reside with their people, the queernormative societies and kingdoms, and the dispersion of powers throughout the people of the lands that are tied to the gods. I could read so much more set in this world if just to learn about more of the gods and societies.

Such a pleasant surprise of a book!

2.5 stars

I didn’t have a great time with this book and probably would have stopped partway through if it weren’t an arc. I think the fantasy plot and the prose were both fairly weak. the romance was enjoyable in some parts, and the three characters had good chemistry throughout.

Wow, this book combines all of my favorite tropes- why choose being #1, of course!

I picked Winds of Destiny up and was immediately enthralled in the story. I mean, we have our charming prince, who falls for his spymaster. However, he is forced to marry a man he has never met, and (cue miscommunication trope...or maybe just a little white lie?!) he ends up falling for one of the warriors on their journey to meet his soon-to-be husband.

What was my favorite part though? That's easy (excluding the romance)- the imagery! I loved how I could basically imagine the rugged landscapes and feel the tall grasses or the soft fur of the little kitten that always seemed to pop up. So many books tend to either lack in conclusive building of the setting, or they go overboard and end up describing every minuscule detail until I'm completely distracted from the main plot line. But Cari here describes everything with just enough detail that I can form my surroundings in my little daydreams but I'm still able to stick to the plot.

Also- the plot twist?!? I needed to put my Kindle down and walk away so I could breathe for a couple minutes because my heart was *racing*; it was that crazy.

This is a must read for anyone who enjoys epic quests, the feeling that love conquers all, and (dare I say) handsome men with...uh..big swords😏😂

I really enjoyed the world building, and it's clear the author is talented. There were elements I love to see in a fantasy, though this did veer more toward romance and it's SPICY! I enjoyed reading a love triangle between three MMM, something you don't see often in the genre. I found the pacing to be a bit wonky with some parts moving too fast and some dragging, but overall I enjoyed to opportunity to read this!

A childhood love, an arranged marriage, why choose, poly relationship, enemies to lovers, secret identity, adventure, spice and a great story line-this book has it all! When your father betroths you to the neighboring kingdom’s son, you do what is best for your kingdom. And its future. A tale of adventure, love and betrayal. Not my typical ready thought it had a FMC but no love triangle between three male characters. Despite this I really did enjoy reading this book. It was fast paced, kept my interest and would recommend to those who love this type of book and those who may be wanting to try something new. Just the right amount of spice with a solid plot that keeps you engaged to the end. Thank you to Entangled and NetGalley for the ARC which I voluntarily read and these opinions are my own.

Winds of Destiny by Cari Z is a breathtaking whirlwind of fantasy, passion, and peril! With vivid world-building, magnetic characters, and a delicious mix of intrigue and slow-burn romance, this story had me absolutely spellbound. The tension between loyalty, desire, and destiny crackles on every page. I was especially captivated by the layered relationships—each of the three leads is compelling, mysterious, and heartbreakingly real. Cari Z masterfully balances political stakes with raw emotion and steamy intensity. I devoured it in one sitting and didn’t want to leave this world. A mesmerizing must-read for fantasy romance lovers! 🌪️💫 #WindsofDestiny #NetGalley

As much as I enjoyed this book, and I did, the pacing was … not the best. While the plot itself — an evil prince determined to do evil things — was solid, it wasn’t given time to breathe and came across as super rushed. The focus of the story was on the romance between the two princes and the spymaster, and I think the romance was decent. Turo and Cam have known each other all their lives, but because of that the romance didn’t have any urgency. I think there was more tension and chemistry between Kai and Cam, and between Kai and Turo . Between Cam and Turo the relationship was so expected and so much a given that there was no surprise to any of it.

The writing was good, and I think the character work was good. I could easily tell all three characters apart, and they all had a distinct point of view. I’m not sure I’d recommend it as a fantasy story, but as a romance, sure. It’s nice to see a polyamorous relationship with all three characters given even attention. Thank you very much to Net Galley and the publisher for the ARC.

I enjoyed reading this book. Though it was more romance then fantasy, I like how the author timed world-building. The overall ideas and plot were new and I honestly found it refreshing. Some places in the book, I would feel lost when it came to characters reactions to situations. It made me feel disconnected to the plot at times. I hope to see more from this author!

This was an interesting read with a unique world and some solid character moments. I liked the overall concept and the slow build of the story, but it took a while to really grab me. The pacing felt uneven in places, and I found myself wanting a bit more emotional depth or connection between the characters. That said, the writing was strong and there were definitely parts that kept me intrigued. A decent read for fans of slower-paced fantasy with a touch of romance.

Overall the story is good. The oysters was clever but the extra part of intimacy making it work better doesn’t make sense if it works when they are close to sleep. Also the sacrifice of the gods didn’t make a lot of sense- that whole section was confusing.
