Life and Love in Paris 1968
This is an interesting look at young Americans in Paris, 1968. It centers around Alex, a Vietnam Vet and journalist. The entire story is not in Paris, but that is the center. This is a very interesting book. There is self-analysis, romance, survivors guilt and just life. I think that I will re-read this book after I digest it for a while. This is not a light-weight adventure, nor is it as humorous as I expected. It is rather intense compared to what I had expected. I did enjoy it, but I would not call it light reading. I received this book for free from Net Galley and this is my honest opinion.

This is a sweet love story about Alex and Lisa set in 1968 that takes us to Greece, Paris and other exotic locations as we first see Alex-a little lost after a break-up-as he journeys to Greece and meets a host of quirky characters, has some sexual encounters, and eventually falls in love with Lisa. She follows him to Paris and the story takes some interesting and bizarre turns based on historical events of the period. Bottom line...it's a timeless coming-of-age, bittersweet novel that will appeal to those of us who not only witnessed those events but those of you who simply read about them in your history books!
