I have to say I was quite surprised to see this Call Me Sonny is Steve Lazarus’s first novel (unless he has a pen name I am unaware of) because the story definitely feel as if it were written by a seasoned professional. Interesting characters and a smart complex weaving story delivers on all fronts. Hopefully we’ll be getting more tales from Mr. Lazarus for years to come. And hopefully someone will option this book. The writing style is quite cinematic and would easily make a fantastic movie/miniseries. Thanks so much to the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me access to ta review copy of Call Me Sonny.

This book made me realize I really need to start reading more of these action-thriller type books. I mostly read suburban thrillers with female main characters, but I absolutely loved this.

The story was gripping from start to finish, it was like watch an action movie like John Wick or something. I loved the main character/investigator Bryce, and the mini plots on friendships and relationships were so well done. There were quite a lot of characters but they were all introduced slowly and gradually enough that I never didn’t know who were talking about.

This was a great book and I think should be a lot more popular than it is. Can’t wait to read the next one!
