I worked in a prison for almost a decade and it’s a place you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy. There is no rehabilitation. And yet people expect people expect those people to then be released and be fine upstanding citizens. Our system (USA, UK, AUS) are far., far, far from perfect and this books did an excellent job of showing the layperson that. I appreciated the thorough research, and no nonsense writing style. Excellent read.
