Tillie Cole writes a story for teens about characters of the same age fighting a specific cancer who have hit the end of the road. The last possibility is a cancer trial in an unrealistic residential setting. One slightly unique aspect was the story within the story, but it isn’t enough to change overall impressions. Sadly, this is a story following multiple tropes in characters and events. While it is clear the author feels passionately about cancer and loss it doesn’t translate well in taking the story above others in this demographic. I wanted to like it, but just didn’t find that it rose to be recommended.

June is a teen diagnosed with cancer. After multiple rounds of treatment she has exhausted all her options until, unexpectedly, a spot in a clinical trial comes open.
June is hopeful but has also accepted her death prognosis. What saddens her the most is that she will never write a love story. She has never been in love….until she meets fellow trial patient, Jessie. They become each other’s world. With Jessie’s permission she will “Write Me for You”. No other details, you gotta read!!!
Tillie Cole writes absolutely heartbreaking novels. This one is the story of true love yet again but it’s fresh and new. Many tears were shed throughout this book with a few unexpected turns. Loved it

Tillie Cole has done it again! Make me cry that is..
Let me tell you that I only ever read books with a guaranteed HEA but I make exceptions for 2-3 authors and one of them is Tillie. If you have read her books before, then I don't think you need to read a review before diving in cause you would have done so already but if that's not the case then let this be the last review before you officially jump in! This book will definitely make you cry but so worth it

I was ready for my heart to be torn out with this one and it definitely was! The beginning was a little slower for me, but by halfway through I couldnt stop reading. I also was very much ugly crying by the end. And I really don't want to give too much away, but I loved the concept where you got to decide how this book ended.

Yes, I cried. Like… ugly cried.
The kind of cry where your chest hurts and you wonder why you willingly signed up for this emotional rollercoaster when you knew what Tillie Cole was about. (Spoiler: because she writes heartbreak like nobody else.)
Write Me for You is tender, devastating, and achingly beautiful.
June wants to write the greatest love story in the world, but time is cruelly short. Then Jesse Taylor crashes into her life like a firework...reckless, alive, and determined to live every moment. What follows is a love that feels too big to fit in the pages of one book but June insists on writing it anyway, because stories are forever, even when people aren’t.
Tillie Cole has this superpower where she doesn’t just tell you a story, she makes you live it. And June and Jesse’s story? It cracked me open and stitched me back together in a way that only a true “soulmate but the universe is mean” kind of book can.
Highly recommend if you like your YA/NA romance with:
- Love stories written inside the story (bookception!)
- Cry until your eyes swell moments
- That “what if the universe just gave us a little more time?” ache
Warning!!!: Tissues required. Emotional support snack recommended. And yes… Tillie Cole once again owns my heart.

I absolutely adored this book—it was pure perfection. The emotional journey had me both laughing and crying, and I couldn’t put it down. June and Jesse are the dream couple for young adult readers, with a chemistry that feels authentic and unforgettable.
I’ve shared this book with all my library classes, and the excitement among students is palpable. While the subject matter is deeply sad at times, many students see themselves reflected in the cast of characters, making the story even more impactful.
If you're looking for a YA romance that balances heartbreak and humor beautifully, this is the one to grab. It’s a must-read that will stay with you long after the final page.
OH and the twist at the end is pure magic.

Tillie Cole did it again, what a roller coaster of emotions! This story had me crying hard! It’s beautifully written, I devoured this book and enjoyed every single chapter so much!
You have Love, loss and hope all packed together in this heartbreaking story. Better have your pack of tissues ready!!

This book ripped my heart right out of my chest and stomped all over it. Keep a box of tissues handy- you're going to need it!

After reading A Thousand Boy Kisses I was hungry for more angsty, heart wrenchy young love. Write Me for You isn’t quite as enthralling, but it hooks you in nonetheless. I read this in a day and I believe fans of the genre will enjoy this tale of love, loss and belief.

Tillie Cole doesn't disappoint. This was so freaking good. She always breaks my heart and I always come back for more. The way she tells this story is so good!

Write Me for You by Tillie Cole is an emotional, small-town romance about healing, love, and second chances. It follows Myla, a young woman who returns to her hometown after a devastating loss, where she reconnects with her childhood best friend, Eli. As they rebuild their bond, old feelings resurface, and they’re forced to face past hurts and the possibility of a future together. Cole’s heartfelt, tender writing captures themes of grief, forgiveness, and finding light after darkness. While it leans on familiar romance tropes, the depth of emotion and the chemistry between the characters make it a warm, poignant read for fans of friends-to-lovers stories.

I almost don’t know how to even describe this story other than it shattered my heart into tiny pieces.
The story centers around June, a 17-year-old girl whose life is on the brink after being diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, AML. The momma came out in me as June’s family receives the gut-wrenching news when her doctor explains they have done everything possible for her condition and the next step for June is palliative care. But then they are called in for a conference and suddenly, there is a glimmer of hope concerning a clinical trial that could save her life. The glimmer begins at Harmony Ranch, a sanctuary where June meets other teens battling the same disease. Here genuine and profound bonds are formed.
Harmony is a small rural ranch hospital where they only take 8 patients at a time. An opening means either a success story or a very tragic one.
At the ranch, the story focuses on a group of 4 in their treatment group who become firm friends, and romance quickly blossoms between June and Jesse. Jesse is a star football player, June an aspiring writer and both are terminally ill.
Emma and Chris are the other two in the foursome. It’s beautiful how they lift each other us as they go through this horrible shared experience. As some have said the treatment is almost as bad as the disease.
Author, Tillie Cole adds much needed relief in lighter moments concerning the affectionately named Chemo Club, where they acted like normal teenagers. Still, their shared experience is anything but normal for teens or anyone for that matter.
As they are going through the trial, June begins to write the romance novel she’s always dreamed of authoring. She entitles her book Jesse and June’s Happily Ever After. She gets to write anything she wishes for herself even the happy ending that each hopes will happen.
Write Me For You is not a lighthearted story. It is an amazing story of reality that has stayed on my mind long after I fearfully read my way through the last chapter.

While the book was predictable, it still tugged on the heart strings. I genuinely found it hard to put down and wanted to know what happened to all of the characters next, even though their ending was obvious. The love story developed quickly, and a lot of it wasn't shown to the reader, but it was such an emotional read nonetheless. Tissues are required.

This was a very emotional read about two teens who fall in love while dealing with some really hard stuff. These are very in depth characters who have a lot going on. The romance happens fast, but is very sweet.
Thanks NetGalley for this ARC.

I think this is one of the few books where I've loved every single character in the book. This was a beautiful story about two teens who meet and fall in love with each other while at a last-chance clinical drug trial at Harmony Ranch. Although this was love-at-first-sight for both June and Jesse, I loved how their friendship and then relationship progressed, and how they truly saw each other and felt seen. You could feel the hope, the desperation, the fear, the heartbreak, and the unconditional love in every single character (especially in the MCs, core side characters, and their families).

DNFd at 40%. I went into this never having read Tillie Cole, but having heard great things about her, so I was excited!! That being said, there are other stories that I would recommend to a teen much faster. This is insta love about teens in cancer treatment. Our main character wants to be a writer and writes a happy ending for her and her football hottie. That is fine that this just isn’t for me… but he also PRONOUNCES them boyfriend and girlfriend without discussing with her, and states that he wants to hear from her how she loves him, and how meek she is, etc. just stuff that a young girl doesn’t need to shoot to the top of their reading list. There are so many more complex characters out there, even if you just want a simple love story. Can certainly be a quick read for those who are into it, but the characters were bland so I didn’t really care to read on. The friendships were cute in the beginning, not sure how much they were explored later on. TLDR: basic.

June Scott has a dream of being an author and writing the greatest love story ever told. But, she has never been in love and her time is running out. That is when she meets Jesse Taylor, a boy that is also running out of time. Jesse inspires June to write the love story that is inspired by their story if life worked out exactly as they pictured it.

Tillie Cole knows exactly how to rip my heart out. I sobbed my way through A Thousand Boy Kisses and A Thousand Broken Pieces got me too. I thought I was going to be okay with Write Me for You, but it hit me hard at the end. It was absolutely heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. June and Jesse are so inspiring. And there is just something about a young adult cancer story that hits me hard as a cancer survivor (diagnosed at 24), because I can relate to not only the pain and physical effects of chemotherapy, but of the emotional toll it takes on you. The not knowing, the hoping/praying, and the realization that life can end so quickly. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Tillie Cole's acknowledgements at the end also broke my heart, because I know what it is like to miss someone so much because cancer took them away too early. All that to say, I highly recommend picking this one up, but have the tissues ready.
Write Me for You is available now!
Thank you to NetGalley, Tillie Cole, and Bloom Books for this ARC of Write Me for You in exchange for an honest review!

Oh my goodness! I was crying by page 12! What an emotional read! I was so caught up in the stories that the book took hardly no time to read aside from having to stop to get more tissues. I fell in love with June and Jesse as well as Emma and Chris. I could feel the hope and heartbreak as real as if it were my own. Such a good read!

As an already fan of Tillie Cole, Write Me for You was a really touching, emotional read. It dives deep into themes of love, loss, and illness (yes, there’s cancer and death involved), and the emotions felt genuine and raw. I definitely teared up a few times.
I’d recommend this one primarily for a young adult audience. The characters, their choices, and the intensity of their feelings felt very age-appropriate for late teens or early 20s. As an adult, I appreciated the story and the message, but I also had to remind myself I’m not the target audience — and that’s okay!
If you’re a younger reader or enjoy emotional, bittersweet YA romance with a heartfelt message, this is definitely worth picking up. Just be prepared to feel all the feels.

You know going into a Tillie Cole book that your heart is about to feel every emotion imaginable. It's why we open her books and what makes us turn her pages. She does not make us wait for what the book is a out. Quickly we learn and then pray by some miracle that we can rewrite the story... That we can change the narrative. I was so strong. Flat out determined not to make this any more than words on a page. Mission... NOT accomplished. My husband was rubbing my back as I was processing my emotions. Thank you for how you wrote out Junebug and Jesse's love story. From their first meeting to the last sentence it was pure perfection.
