Jenna Levine delivers a zany, cross-country romantic comedy that's perfect for an end of summer/beginning of the school year read! In "A Vampire Who Can't Remember His Past and a Witch With Secrets of Her Own Hit the Road," we meet Zelda, a reformed witch trying to escape her past, and Peter, an amnesiac vampire with an undeniable charm. When Peter arrives on her doorstep, a quirky adventure begins, leading to some truly comical situations as they decipher cryptic clues and navigate their blossoming attraction.
While this installment wasn't my absolute favorite in the series, I'm glad I went along for the ride.
If you like your rom-coms with a decent amount of spice, this one delivers!

Such a good way to end off a fun, lighthearted romance series with vampires and witches at the heart! This series is just a fun, lighthearted romance. It is exactly what I wanted going into the novel, and it didn’t disappoint.
I love that we got to read from both of their point of views, and that we got to see some our past characters! I love Peter! He’s probably my favorite of the male love interests in the series.
Thanks NetGalley and Berkeley Romance!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book!
“Even when I didn’t know my own name, some part of me still wanted to find you.”
What do you get when a vampire with amnesia, who gets drunk on Diet Coke and a 400+ year old witch turned yoga instructor who’s been hiding her magic for a decade go on a roadtrip? A truly delightful read!
It’s part mystery, part rom-com with banter, roadtrip shenanigans, forced proximity and that moment where he says, “fuck it” and finally gives in. *swoon*
This was a fun quick read with some surprisingly sweet moments.
This is the 3rd (and my favorite) in the series. While I do think it could be read as a standalone, the first 2 are also fun and introduce some side characters in this book.

I absolutely love this series. The premise itself is hilarious and I love the covers. This books always find away to make me laugh at loud. I hope this book goes on forever because each book leaves me satisfied but I can't get enough

This is such a fun read, a great finale to the series. I really liked that Zelda was on a JOURNEY, not necessarily making amends, but working to be a better person, and it was interwoven so well into the story. Peter was a sexy beast, and the amnesia and snippets we got from him were a nice little mystery to unravel. I liked having Reginald, Frederick and Amelia show up in the story, it entwined all the stories together.
most important information to glean from this book ? do NOT follow Frederick's recipe for cookies.

I really enjoyed this book! I think it was the perfect book to end the vampire series- it was definitely my favorite one! I liked all the characters and was rooting for them to get together. I liked the character development for the MFC and MMC and could definitely see myself rereading once it is published.

🧛♂️ Bookish Thoughts
This wasn’t my favorite in the series, but I still enjoyed parts of it. I loved seeing the cameos from earlier books, and I really liked the premise. Vampire with amnesia, reluctant witch, and a road trip? Yes please!
That said, the pacing was rough for me. It felt very slow, and probably could’ve been 100 pages shorter. A lot of the dialogue felt like filler and didn’t really move things forward.
I also struggled to connect with Zelda, especially in the last quarter of the book. She came off a bit hypocritical. And while Peter was sweet, he was probably my least favorite MMC in the series so far.
Still, if you’re in the mood for a slower-paced paranormal romance, this could totally work for you!
❤️ Read if you love:
• Road trips
• Grumpy vampire MMC
• Witchy FMC
• Amnesia tropes
• Found family vibes

Thank you to Berkley Publishing Group and NetGalley for the advanced copy. All thoughts are my own.

This installment of the vampire series is 3.5 stars rounded up to 4. i.
Preferred the previous books' Frederick and Reginald to this book's Peter. Peter doesn't have the charisma or comic relief the other vampires offer. Once reginald entered this book, however, I was back in, having previously been ready to put it down for good. I think Zelda and Reginald need a prequel that goes into ALL their crazy vampire/witch antics. I liked this one, but didn't love it. I will happily read whatever books are released in this series, and I appreciate the advanced copy.

A fun summer summer for lovers of cozy paranormal romance. This was again a witty addition to the series that I have enjoyed reading. While still as quirky as the other two, I found Zelda and her problem with magic frustrating - it just didn't make sense to me. The reason she stopped, that she continued stopping even when it was physically detrimental to her health, and her general suspicious attitude made it hard to believe she was supposed to be hundred of years old. The third act fight made no sense since it was looming the entire book and she said multiple times she wouldn't react the way she ultimately ended up acting (a pet peeve of mind - don't try to convince us something won't happen so hard for so long just to do it, that's not a twist its annoying). I think this is partly because in the previous book I was given a solid picture of who Zelda would be and she was not at all what I was expecting. Peter on the other hand was exactly what I was hoping for - his plot and backstory was inventive and at times hilarious - and I couldn't get enough of him and what would happen next.
Overall its a fun book and I think I would have enjoyed it much more if I can't built up expectations for Zelda prior to reading it. It's not my favorite in the series, but still a a fun book that I would recommend to others.

I absolutely love how the title perfectly captures the nature of the story! Jenna Levine is amazing at creating delightfully chaotic stories that are an exciting escape from reality.
In Road Trip with a Vampire, we follow Zelda, who has hidden away in California to start a new life where she isn’t a witch, but just a normal human. She’s working as a yoga instructor and living with her two best friends, trying to keep her powers hidden, until her magic just can’t stay bottled up anymore.
But what happens when a vampire loses his memory and Reginald sends him to Zelda for help? Of course, it leads to a road trip where Zelda helps him retrace his steps and try to recover his lost memories, all while she experiments with her magic along the way.
I loved how Peter’s genuine soul came through. The more he remembered about his past, the less he wanted to go back to it. He was afraid of the person he used to be, and found real happiness with Zelda.
As for Zelda, I loved seeing her grow and mature. Compared to her younger, more chaotic self with Reginald, always causing trouble and chasing adrenaline, she really wanted to leave all of that behind and start fresh, not as the same witch causing problems and being careless.
As always, the plot is silly in the best way and so enjoyable. I was laughing and falling in love with Zelda and Peter from the very first pages. It was fun to see Frederick and Reginald again, especially toward the end. I’m sad to see the series end, but this book is a perfect conclusion.
Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley for the ARC!

I have been very vocal about how much I loved the previous book in this series (My Vampire Plus-One) so no one should be surprised that I loved this book, too!
Zelda, who happens to be an immortal witch, has her own secrets but as she spends time with Peter, she feels comfortable sharing the details of her past with him. Peter is able to listen and really see Zelda for who she is (and vice versa!). Between this and Peter’s vulnerability, it’s easy to root for him to get the girl.
The tension between Zelda and Peter was wild! It’s kind of a slow burn but when it starts, well… it definitely burns (#iykyk).🔥 Trust me when I say you’ll be squealing and kicking your feet when these two finally get together.
Even though I was able to guess the major conflict, the third act break up didn’t bother me because it’s done so well! Maybe it’s because they’re hundreds of years old but Zelda and Peter are able to handle everything maturely. They actually listen to each other!
Each stop of the road trip is filled with hijinks. It’s sort of chaotic which only adds to the humor. Levine’s writing is so witty and I often found myself cackling while reading. At the same time, the story covers accepting responsibility for your past choices, but not being defined by them.
I’m so sad this series is finished but what an ending! This is a fast-paced story filled with great banter so it’s easy to sink your teeth into it. 🧛

Road Trip with a Vampire is exactly what it promises: a delightfully quirky paranormal romance with a beating heart underneath all the vampire vibes and witty banter. Jenna Levine delivers a slow-burn, opposites-attract love story that pairs a sunshiney human with a brooding, emotionally constipated vampire—and it works so well. Their chemistry was adorable, and I genuinely enjoyed watching them open up to each other during their literal and emotional journey.
It’s the perfect blend of cozy road trip vibes, supernatural charm, and romantic tension. If you love character-driven stories with warmth, wit, and a touch of fangs, this one’s a must-read.

"I hadn't had a real home in so long.
Not until I met you. Now that I know what it's like to be with you, I don't think I could go back to any sort of existence without you in it."
3.5/5 wonderful stars
1/5 spice and with a little bite to it.
This book is definitely my favorite of the interconnected series! Jenna Levine just writes lovely silly little romances, with silly little fmc's that have silly little quirks. The men don't know how to talk to women, they have tendencies to be idiots sometimes but my god do I love it.
Sometimes easy books are just so nice to read in-between thicker reads! This is my petition for more head-empty-but-so-cute books.
I thought Zelda was so different, I mean she is literally a powerful witch, over 400 years old and a little stubborn. Her yogi self and comforting outlook was just refreshing. I enjoyed her character a lot even if her suspicious tendencies got me slightly frustrated.
Peter was the reason why I loved this book so much. He can fix a car, he's grumpy and a hot vampire??? say less. I enjoyed the way he would have flirty innuendos and just said the correct things in moments when Zelda needed it.
I wanted a little bit more anger from him at the end, I think if you're going to have a third act break up though.... this is the way you make him GROVEL!
If you give me another chance, I will always take care of you."
I thought it was a little cliche but honestly so fun and sweet. If you love paranormal romances this would be a series I would definitely recommend. Just go into them for something easy and light, the conflict of the series isn't super heavy, they're not intense reads and thats completely fine with me!

I am a huge fan of Jenna Levine’s vampire series! This latest (and last 😭) installment was such a cute but bittersweet ending.
Grizelda “Zelda” Watson is an elemental witch, living the quiet life as a yoga studio owner in California. After centuries of chaos, Grizelda decided to reinvent herself into Zelda Turret and has been struggling to live life with as little magic as possible. One night, Peter Elliot, a vampire with amnesia, shows up at her studio looking for her help to get his memory back at the behest of their mutual friend, Reggie. Zelda, though skeptical, reluctantly agrees. The two soon set off on a road trip across the U.S., stopping at key places along the way to help jog Peter’s memory. But the more miles the two travel, the more they find themselves drawn to each other as emotions and the mystery surrounding Peter’s amnesia intensifies.
Road Trip With a Vampire was such a fun read! I enjoyed getting to know Zelda and Peter’s characters and found them to be the perfect match for one another. I loved the mystery surrounding Peter’s amnesia. At times, it felt like I was reading a romantic suspense novel (which I really loved). The cameos of the characters from the previous two books (My Roommate is a Vampire and My Vampire Plus One) were so fun to read and made me want to go back and immediately reread both books.
Overall, this was such a great story! I am so sad that it’s the last of the Vampire series, but I am so looking forward to whatever Jenna writes next.
Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley for the ARC!

You had me at “vampire with amnesia” and “witch with secrets” piling into a beat-up car for a cross-country adventure. I mean, come on, it’s like a supernatural Thelma & Louise with less cliff-diving and more fang-flashing! Jenna Levine’s latest romp is a frothy, funny cocktail of romance and comedy, but—sigh—it didn’t quite sink its teeth into my heart the way I hoped. It’s cute, it’s quirky, but it’s also got some quirks that made me raise an eyebrow higher than a vampire spotting a garlic bread buffet.
Peter, our hunky amnesiac vampire, can’t remember a thing about his centuries-long life, and Zelda, our secretive witch, is dodging her own baggage like it’s a dodgeball game in gym class. The two of them hitting the open road? Total catnip for a hopeless romantic who dreams of love, adventure, and maybe a cute gas station meet-cute (don’t judge). The dialogue sparkles like a Twilight vampire. I cackled out loud when Peter tried to navigate a modern GPS like it was a cursed artifact from the 1700s.
But here’s where the sparkle dims a bit, and I’m gonna get real. Peter and Zelda are hundreds of years old, y’all. Hundreds! And yet, they’re out here scraping by like they’re one paycheck away from eating instant ramen for eternity. I’m sorry, but if I’d been alive since the days of powdered wigs and chamber pots, I’d at least have a side hustle that didn’t involve clocking in at Vampire Starbucks or Witchy Waffle House. Peter, pre-memory loss, wasn’t sipping champagne in first class or chartering private jets? Zelda’s couldn’t replace her wobbly end table? Girl, what?! I was expecting bougie immortals dripping in old-money vibes, not two supernatural sad sacks who apparently missed the memo on the Industrial Revolution, the dot-com boom, AND Bitcoin. If you’ve lived through the invention of the light bulb and didn’t think to invest in General Electric, I’m side-eyeing you harder than my dog when I forget her treats. These two are old enough to have seen the future coming, and yet they’re living like they’re auditioning for Broke Immortal: The Reality Show.
The road trip itself is a hoot, though. Levine paints their misadventures with such vivid charm that I could practically smell the stale coffee and questionable motel sheets while wondering if Zelda could magic away bed bugs.
But the pacing? It’s like the car ran out of gas halfway through. The middle sags a bit, with some scenes feeling like filler episodes of a sitcom you love but don’t need. I wanted more stakes (pun intended), more depth to their secrets, and maybe a little less “oops, we forgot how to adult despite being older than the Constitution.”
Also, can we talk about the romance? It’s adorable, don’t get me wrong—Peter’s awkward vampire charm had me swooning, and Zelda’s sassy deflections are my spirit animal. But it’s almost too sweet, like eating cotton candy for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I wanted a touch more spice, a bit more angst to make the happy ending feel earned. It’s not quite closed-door, but it’s more “slightly ajar door” than “steamy vampire romp”. I was hoping for a love story that’d make my heart race like I’d just spotted a garage sale full of Labubu’s (I did snatch up the one I found once!), but it was more like a cozy hug from your favorite sweater. Nice, but not electric.
Oh, and a quick note: I scoured Reddit for some hot takes from smokedup_69420, hoping for some spells, but alas, that username’s a ghost. Missed advertisement opportunity.
Road Trip with a Vampire is a fun, fluffy read that’s perfect for when you want to giggle and swoon without thinking too hard. It’s got heart, humor, and a road trip vibe that makes you want to crank up a cheesy playlist and hit the highway. But the missed opportunities—like the slightly flat emotional depth—kept it from being a five-star fang-fest. If you’re in the mood for a light, laugh-out-loud romance with a supernatural twist, this’ll do the trick—just don’t expect Peter and Zelda to be living that Bloomberg-level immortal life.

I loved the first two books in this series and the author’s take on the traditional vampire romance. This one was a fun addition to the world she’s created. Zelda was a great character and I really enjoyed the idea of a vampire with amnesia. I can’t wait to read what she writes next.

In this third and final book of the "My Vampires" series, Levine leaves us with a fun, cute romance with plenty of spice, too, just as readers who enjoyed the other two books in the series would expect. Peter and Zelda are lovable and relatable characters, even if they are a vampire and immortal witch. Peter is a bit of a mystery at first because of his amnesia, but his care for Zelda is apparent the whole time, even below his standoffish exterior. Zelda is a favorite, with her sometimes modern taste, mixed with some preferences for the things in the distant past. It was fun to discover her past crazy antics, especially via the little blurbs at the beginning of each chapter. I really enjoyed seeing the relationship between these two develop, especially because of how humorous Levine was able to make it (the chicken hat clinched it for me). I also really appreciated how this is one of the few paranormal romances with immortal characters where there wasn't an age gap to deal with. Both Peter and Zelda have already been around for awhile, and they're both supernatural, so there isn't any type of power imbalance in their relationship. If anything, it is Zelda who is the older player in the relationship, turning some of the typical dynamics of these romances on their head.
The one thing that I didn't quite like was the relationship conflict in the third act of the book. I don't want to give too many details to not give spoilers, but it seemed like the drama around the relationship wasn't quite necessary, and was a bit forced. I think it may have been better to focus on the external conflict with the Collective, since it was honestly resolved way more quickly than I anticipated. Things, of course, work out in the end (it is a romance after all), but I would have liked it more to just skip that extra drama, even though I do appreciate all that Peter does to show he cares about Zelda during this time.
Many thanks to NetGalley for the chance to read an advanced reader copy for an honest review.

This author is new to me, but I will be keeping an eye out for anything else they publish. I loved the story and the characters. The pacing of the story was great and the characters were relatable.

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series, so I knew I would love this one too. The premise was totally adorable and Peter was so wholesome. While this book would have been totally fine as a standalone, I really missed the humor that the first two had. In fact, some of my favorite bits were the ones that featured Frederick or Reggie. Overall, this was a fun escape.
Many thanks to Jenna Levine, the publisher, and Netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review!

This is the first book by this author for me, so I believe you can read it prior to reading any others from the series, though I found out after reading, that the previous books in the series featured some of the side characters in this book. (And I really need to go back and read Reginald's story.) There is humor in the book, but it's not really LOL humor. More of a slight chuckle here and there. The characters are interesting. The previous books featured a vampire and a human, but this one is a vampire and a witch. (Though a witch in hiding who's trying not to be so witchy.) The vampire, Peter, comes to the witch, Zelda, in hopes she can help him get his memory back. As he may not remember details, he starts to believe he wasn't a very good person as certain feelings come back to him. As his relationship with the witch grows, he worries his past might hurt her once they find out the truth of who he is/was before losing his memory. While there is the whole paranormal aspect of the book (and who they are,) it's not overly done. Mostly subtle things, like him needing to feed and being fast on his feet, and her using slight magic on occasion. Nothing in your face about their 'talents.' And there are other humans in their lives who know nothing about their true beings. So, if you aren't into paranormal/supernatural reads, I feel you can still enjoy this one. It's written well, and not filled with fluff. There is a minor amount of sexual content, but it's not smutty and kinda fades into black after a few moments. It's from just one POV (Zelda) except for a paragraph or two at the beginning of each chapter, in which we get Peter's POV. It's easy to read.
*I received a copy of this book from Netgalley.
