Silly! But, I did find the modern references a bit annoying (seriously, how many times do we need to be told they're listening to Chappel Roan?!) Other than that though, I really enjoyed the shenanigans Zelda and Peter got into on their road trip. I just wish i cared a bit more about it all, especially after loving books 1 and 2.

There's just something about Jenna Levine and this series that I absolutely LOVE! We've seen glimpses of Zelda in previous books, but I was excited when I realized this one was all about her! Peter is all tall, dark, and brooding (partially due to the amnesia lol), but their chemistry worked so well. I'm so sad this is the last in the series!

Jenna Levine writes books that always just feel so good. Her writing is hilarious at times and serious when it needs to be with MMCs who are swoon worthy and FMCs that you just can't help but love. It is bittersweet finishing this book because that means the end of the My Vampires series that I've enjoyed so so so much but closing it out with this story was just as lovely as the first two books were and I am so excited to see what Jenna has in store for us next.

I am not usually one for an amnesia plot, however, Jenna made this one work in a way that had me enjoying myself from start to finish. Peter sounds like a dream boat and I loved how his particular story unfolded in pieces throughout the road trip. He's endearing and the chemistry that he has with Zelda is so good. Zelda was not what I was expecting, but like . . . in a good way if that makes sense. I was expecting stressful chaos if Reggie were to be believed and so it was interesting having this specific version of her made up in my head from reading the previous book and seeing how she actually is now by getting her point of view. I adore her and this sort of rediscovery of herself or maybe coming back to terms with parts of herself was a really enjoyable experience.

If you haven't read this series, I definitely recommend it. It's a super fun time!

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and author for letting me read the e-arc for an honest review!

Another fantastic read! I could not put this book down. The chemistry between Zelda and Peter was unique. I enjoyed how these two characters connect and learn about each other as they go on this journey to help Peter figure out who he is. The road trip itself was so fun as if both characters were trying to figure out what to do. It was kind of funny since both characters are old but I liked it. It shows a bit of the human side left in them, I think.

There is a slow, cozy and sweet burn which was nice. Some may not like that while others want a bit more spice. I love the one bed moment!

The fighting bit was fun but felt a little rushed.

Chicken hat stands out in my mind. Read the book to find out why.

Reggie makes an appearance which is great! Love the interaction between Reggie and Zelda.

The whole series is a must have. I am definitely getting this physical book for my collection. I already have the first two on my shelf!

This vampire comedy series has been a joy from beginning to end and though I'm devastated that this is the final installation, Zelda and Peter's wacky road trip is a good send-off. As always, this was fun, funny and just all around a joy to read. Zelda is a great protagonist and it was a great breath of fresh air following a witch who got into her own set of shenanigans instead of a clueless human who gets helplessly thrown into this world. Peter is definitely the most tradionally compelling love interest of the series (though I'll always have a soft spot for Reggie); he's super endearing and charming and it's overall very easy to root for them both, as individuals and as a couple. The added layer of mystery was also very fun and though the resolution was not necessarily mindblowingly surprinsing, it was still thrilling to see it unravel throughtout the chapters.

Where the book fell flat for me was from the 3rd act onwards. I thought the obligatory 3rd act breakup between Zelda and Peter felt very forced and a little out of character. It would be fine if their reconcilation wasn't so dragged out - especially when the book could've spent a little more time smoothing out Zelda's character arc which felt a little incomplete towards the end. I hope we'd get to see her have a healthier relationship with her magic, perhaps show how she could use it to help her community instead of creating chaos. There were plenty of times where I thought it was leading up to that but in the end it felt like a wasted opportunity for growth.

This book is so precious! I absolutely adore the characters, and the plot is fun!

The tension!! I love a good slow burn, and this is definitely a slow burn full of tension, and the characters have great chemistry. I loved the super sweet romance here, sometimes I need a feel good romance without drama, and this is definitely it!

I wish we would have gotten some resolution for Zelda though, once the road trip started the reasoning for her needing to get away just ends up forgotten and we focus on Peter, but the road trip itself was such a fun time.

First, I have to say I am truly sad to see this series come to an end.

Zelda and Peter’s story was so much fun! A Witch and a Vampire on a roadtrip? 🚗Such a great time!

Zelda is fun, quirky and super patient with Peter and with herself. I loved that she was a centuries old powerful witch, running a small yoga studio in Northern California. The scene that Jenna painted was so cozy and fun, and then you throw in the goat yoga, sign me up!

Peter!! Tall, dark and handsome with a mysterious past brought on by a bout of amnesia. The clues and journal entries at the beginning of each chapter were genius and gave us a peek into his past so we got to know him a little better, while keeping is intriguing. I loved how careful he was with Zelda, even though she very well could have been more powerful than him.

The road trip stops had me giggling, the dancing chicken, the tacky bowling alley. Zelda‘s playlist🤌🏻 so much fun!

The best part was the sneak peek of Reginald and his current life. I am going to miss these three quirky vampires, and I’m so grateful I picked up these books randomly because they are some of my all-time faves🖤

I am so sad to say goodbye to this world. There is something so precious about an awkward vampire. This is the perfect light hearted romance that involves witches and vampires in the modern world. Although, peter is not as silly as the previous 2 males in the series, his situation is definitely unusual. I loved zelda as a character, try as you might with change but impulsivity is woven in her dna. Together, they make the roadtrip hilarious. I appreciate the involvement of previous characters, they seem like such a fun bunch of unserious vampires.

This was the final book to Jenna's 'With a Vampire' series! It's been quite a ride going from book 1 to 3. I thoroughly enjoyed all 3, and will miss our Vampire friends, Frederick, Reggie, and Peter!

This last book was the cherry on top to the series. I loved the chemistry and tension between Zelda & Peter. And this time, our FMC is a witch, which makes the dynamic even better!

I can't wait to see what other books Jenna will come out with in the future!

3.5 rounded up to a 4

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley for providing me with a free eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I actually own the first two books in this series but haven’t read them yet so I can confirm that you don’t need to read them in order for any of the plot to make sense. Several characters from the previous two books do appear in this one but I never felt 1) lost on this book’s plot or 2) like I’d been spoiled for the other two plots. (I mean, they’re romance—we all know they’re going to end with HEAs anyway lol.)

I really enjoyed this book. While there is a slight mystery of what’s going on with Peter’s amnesia, it’s not a super high stakes story, and the characters were fun to spend time with. One thing I don’t super like with contemporary books is when authors include current pop culture references as I feel like it dates the book almost immediately. Thankfully, there weren’t a ton in this book, and I did actually laugh at the reference to the “Twas I who set the house ablaze!” cat meme haha

I know contemp romances, even fantasy/paranormal ones don’t delve into super specifics that often, but I would’ve liked a better explanation on why exactly Zelda was an immortal witch when she specifically points out that other witches are. That seemed a convenient way to deal with her falling for an immortal vampire but why include that detail if you’re not going to explore it? (It also makes me think that the idea of immortal vampires being with mortal humans in the previous two books isn’t really addressed either.)

But other than those nitpicks things, I did enjoy reading this book and am more excited to read the first two!

This book is a charming blend of supernatural mystery, reluctant romance, and road trip shenanigans with just the right touch of heart. Zelda is the kind of heroine you instantly want to be friends with—sharp, funny, and stubborn in all the best ways—and Peter, the broody vampire with memory loss and accidental yoga vibes, is an irresistible surprise.

What starts as a simple favor turns into something much deeper, as Zelda and Peter unravel the truth about his past—and hers—one mile and magical clue at a time. The banter is excellent, the chemistry undeniable, and the emotional beats sneak up on you when you least expect it.

Perfect for readers who love:

Grumpy x grumpier dynamics

Found family with a supernatural twist

A little blood, a lot of heart, and a dash of chaos

It’s quirky, cozy, and just a little bit dangerous. In other words: exactly the kind of magic you didn’t know you needed.

My thanks to Netgalley, Berkley Publishing Group and Jenna Levine for the eARC of this book in exchange for a review.

I have a confession to make. I actually have the rest of the My Vampires series. I remember borrowing the first book from my city's digital library and enjoying it so much that I bought myself a copy and returned the library one. Then I proceeded to get to about the 40% mark and then left it unfinished. And I bought the 2nd book not realizing that it was actually a series and left it on my tablet for another day.

I had to go searching for it on my tablet because it's been a few years and it had fallen way down on my list of things to read in my digital library. And then I went ahead and hunted down the details of the first book because I could not for the life of me remember why I put the first book down for so long. Looks like it came out around the time I was coming out of the newborn trenches, the ones so deep the Mariana looks at us floundering in the deeps and gives a nod of respect to the trench we're in. I'm in them for a second time now but I like to think I have more experience with sleep deprivation to the point that I can read all the books I want while simultaneously handling screaming tantrums and soothing lullabies.

I was tempted to read both previous books as fast as possible before reading Road Trip with a Vampire before I realized this would be the perfect opportunity to try a book and see if it could stand on its own without depending a lot on the previous installments for me to enjoy the story. I am happy to report that YES, you can read this book without having read the others. Also, you will most definitely WANT to read the other books once you're done with this one.

This was just so sweet, it made me want to curl up with my hands under my chin and just sigh and smile because awww, that was so good.

This book follows Grizelda Watson, known as Zelda, a witch who has left her bad reputation behind for a new start in California as a yoga instructor. Zelda used to hang out with vampires but has spent the last 10 years avoiding them and her magic, in favor of a new peace and being an overall better person than she was in her long and storied past. That all changes when amnesiac vampire Peter Elliot shows up, having been sent by her old friend Reggie, so that Peter can have someone to look out for him while he tries to regain his memories. Zelda decides the least she can do is help him and together they try to figure out who Peter used to be. When Peter gets a threatening note about a job left unfinished, Peter and Zelda come up with a plan: visit places mentioned in Peter's journal to see if they can jog his memories before the sender of the message tracks them down.

I loved Zelda. I loved her name, her attitude, and I even loved her past, which is that apparently she had a reputation for pulling off elaborate pranks. She made me chuckle and smile and that is everything when you're following a romatic lead through their trials and tribulations. I thought Peter was charming and enjoyed how flustered he got with Zelda and how the two of them would flirt and slowly learned about each other. It was all just exactly what I wanted to read after the last week of horrible weather and horrible stories on the news about the floods that happened less than an hour away from me. Zelda and Peter made me forget about worrying enough so that I could be able to fall in love with their story. I'm starting My Roommate is a Vampire in the morning because yeah, okay, I NEED to sleep, tell me what else is new.

The book is written from Zelda's point of view, allowing us to see how hard Zelda has worked to become someone better. We can see the pain she feels for mistakes she made in the past and how it drives her to choose to change. I liked how that theme, making a choice to be better, was worked into Zelda's story and into Peter's, because the more we learn about Peter, the more readers see that Peter wants to believe that change is possible, even for him. Funny enough because as is, Peter doesn't know who he used to be. All he knows is that Zelda makes him want to be better, to be deserving of someone like her, and isn't that just exactly what romance needs? It gives me fuzzy feelings and makes me smile just thinking about it. Some of the chapters start with a bit about Peter, filling in things from his past about what his job used to be and how all of it brought him to Zelda. Others have bits about Zelda's past and how her practical jokes created a reputation with a mind of it's own, practically. I liked how reserved he was and how little details like his music choices were enough to expand on who Peter was and who he chose to be for Zelda. The story just worked for me with making me love the characters and then, in turn, love the story of how they fall in love.

If I have to make any complaint, it would be about how I wanted to know a little more about Zelda's past, where she came from, who her family was, things like that. The same for Peter. I was also a little irked by the final conflict of the story, the reasoning that Zelda came up with for why she and Peter would not work out. I thought she was being way too stubborn and refusing to see the truth about what had happened and I wanted someone to tell her that earlier but she did eventually work it out, better late than never. Still, I would have slapped her upside the head because really? You were going to give up on love because you were what? Mincing words about what had happened and what you thought had happened? Ugh, romantic leads, I tell you. There always has to be something, no matter how small, to make their happily ever afters feel earned. Still, sigh, this sweet couple earned their love story ending and this author has earned a new fan. Seriously, I will be reading the rest of the series, probably within the next week, and I'll be keeping Jenna Levine on my list of automatic preorders. If the pattern holds, my hope is for a new book by this time next year. I'm looking forward to it.

Rating on my scale: Going with 9 stars because Zelda really did need a smack to head. Just a few times, nothing too violent, I wouldn't want a vampire coming after me for knocking some sense into his love. Still, this is a great book, exactly what I want to see in romance stories, and I hope the rest of the series is just as good.

One of my most anticipated books this year! I love Jenna Levine's vampire series, esp the writing and the banter and the romances, and this book was no exception! The road trip, slow-burn romance was amazing, and I loved their individual character journeys <3 also the cameos by characters in the previous two books were so fun!

Jenna Levine's Vampire series has been consistently sweet and romantic and hilarious, and this conclusion to the series is no different. Having both characters in the supernatural loop from the start was a nice change, but thanks to a whole new mystery to slowly uncover, the book wasn't lacking in tension in any way either.

Excuse me, but what does she mean this is the last book in her vampire series? Why would she do that when these are such amazing books? I don't just don't know what to think about that (I mean, I do; I just can't do anything about it).

I loved this book so much. The characters are well developed, and there are tons of twists and turns that I didn't see coming.

This book can be read as completely as a stand-alone. It is set in the same world as the previous two books, so you will gain some more understanding by reading the first books in order, but it is not necessary at all. Although I highly recommend reading all three books if possible, as all of them are amazing.

Thanks so much to NetGalley for the free Kindle book. My review is voluntarily given, and my opinions are my own.

Thank you NetGalley, the author, and publisher for the opportunity to read this book.

A vampire with amnesia, a witch who doesn’t want to use her powers, mystery, romance - yes! Count me in! What can go wrong?

I fell in love with this book! It was so much fun to read.

Peter and Zelda are the best characters. It was great getting to know them. The mystery was fun even though I figured it out quite early. The romanc was great!

Beautiful, funny, and exciting love story.

The ending was sweet. Had me scared there for just a bit. I like happy endings.

Recommend.

Thank you, Jenna, for picking me to be a part of the traveling ARC and letting me be the first person!
And thank you Berkley for the ARC as well!

Gahh, it was perfection! I love this series, and the fact that we get to see our friends Reggie and Frederick again made me so happy!

Peter is so swoony, and I absolutely loved the amnesia part of his plot. Zelda is such a badass witch, and I was laughing so hard seeing her get pulled into this road trip adventure.

Along the way, we get so many hotels with one room, one bed... nearly every time, which had me dying! I loved diving a bit more into the world of the vampires and the collective, it's so interesting. Honestly, this might be my favorite of the three books (don’t tell Reggie!)

Having read Levine's previous two installments in her 'My Vampire' trilogy, I was *so pumped* for this one -- especially because I can never get enough road trip adventures/forced proximity/there's only ONE bed. Add in the fact that the ML had amnesia, and was on a quest of self-discovery, while the FL was doing everything she could to put her past behind her/reinvent herself? OH HECK YES.

And Levine did not disappoint! Zelda is a likable, colorful heroine, while Peter spends most of his time being an intriguing (and hunky) enigma, with a fundamental core of polite decency to keep him from being too one-note/a mere device to propel the plot. As in her previous books, the chemistry between the characters was *delicious*, and the dialogue and narrative tone from Zelda is fun and (mostly) breezy. The pace is steady and brisk, and while both characters have darkness in their pasts and some guilt to go with all of that, the story never got bogged down with angst and ennui. The spicy scenes were appropriately spicy, and there were some entertaining details thrown in, considering both characters are supernatural. Plus, the core theme of reinvention/"you can always make an active choice to be a new person" is a solid, resonant one for such a frothy romance.

I also REALLY appreciated that the climactic conflict actually goes down around the 80% mark, the immediate threat was wrapped up relatively quickly, and that Levine then devoted the rest of the remaining pages to an aftermath/accounting we usually don't get in romances (especially paranormal romances). It was a nice change of pace from the typical "have the bad shit go down in the penultimate chapter, then only spend a couple pages on the resolution/amends before jumping straight to a Happily Ever After" that's become route by this point. And the usual third-act groveling was genuinely very sweet and cute.

A fitting end to such an entertaining trilogy, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing what Levine does next!

I loved this book! Ms Levine has created a perfect trio of fun supernatural books full of enjoyable and relatable characters.

A big thank you to the publisher for allowing me to read this one early. I love this series! So fun. I'm a little sad that there won't be more in this series but I cannot wait to read whatever comes next!
