I wasn’t sure what to expect from this one. I love a good second chance romance, but this one had the added fun of a marriage that hadn’t ended yet.
In this novel, we have CEO and workaholic Connor who was just left by his wife Laney. Laney went back to her hometown in Cherrywood, IL, to spend the Christmas season with family. The last thing she expects is for Connor to rent out the house next door and proclaim that he is not giving up and will prove his love again. What follows includes the cutest dates, fun side characters, and a love story for the ages.
I enjoyed Laney and Connor’s romance. There wasn’t a ton of drama that went along with it. Laney felt neglected and Connor was determined to rewire his brain from work-mode to family-mode.
We got both main characters POVs, which helped the story progress. I really enjoyed being in Connor’s head because he was so genuine and always thinking of his wife, even as he struggled to work remote during a cyberattack on his company.
If you’re looking for a cute Christmas novel filled with small-town vibes, pick this one.
