I tend to shy away from time travel books, but this series is captivating, and I've enjoyed both of them so far. The author does a great job of making it believable as far as "would I have chosen to do this?" goes. Kipling wasn't really my favorite character at the beginning of the story, but he grew on me as I got to know him better. Amelia, on the other hand, I was a huge fan of from the get-go. And her grandfather was the perfect horrible relation.
I can't imagine being trapped on an island when you're terrified of the sea, especially one as violent and finicky as this one is.
Very well-written and engaging story.

I love these characters. Kipling is so sweet, charming, kind and a little bit of a tease. Amelia is strong, even though she doesn't seem to be to her family members. She is kind, brave and smart. When Kipling is swept back over 200 years in time, he is very grateful for his acting career on The Beau, an 1800's period drama. It does take him quite a while to realize he isn't at a historical site acting, but actually in the real time period.
I love the townspeople. They are so good to rally around Amelia and Kip. They truly become family.
This is a sweet, time travel romance with heart.

Very fun and engaging time-skip romance. I loved how Amelia and Kip were so perfect for each other. The really saw and understood what the other was going through.
The villagers were awesome in their support and care for Amelia and Kip. I especially enjoyed Smudge and Aunt Finch.
It was fun to see how long it took for Kip to realize that he had actually traveled back in time and that the people were not just really good actors who never broke character.
This is a sweet, clean, slow burn love story that will have you believing in magic.

I told you in my review of Tides of Time that it was well written, but that I wasn’t sure that I would continue on with this series. I did and I’m glad that I did. Echoes of the Sea was a much lighter read than the first book and it can stand alone so it’s up to you if you want to start with this one.
I liked the characters. Both Kip and Amelia are flawed, but genuine. It was slightly comical how Kipling interpreted things at first, but then again I can’t imagine anyone would travel through time without trying to rationalize the things happening around them. And I loved the fact that Kip’s work as an actor gave a plausible explanation for all the early interactions in the story. It made the novel fun and engaging.
The author drew me in so that I was rooting for Amelia and her fortitude. The book gave a genuine voice to what it would feel like to be powerless and then be given a hope for the future that can only be gained by confronting your deepest fears and then realizing that the very people who are supposed to be for you and banking on your failure. You can’t help but wish her, and Kip, a happily ever after.
I enjoyed Echoes of the Sea and I think anyone who enjoys a bit of time travel romance would be happy to read this tale.
I received a free digital copy of this book and I am giving you my honest opinion.

I love the time travel aspect of this series. That's my favorite part. While I didn't love this book, I did enjoy reading it, and I'm glad I did. I love Amelia's character and how Kip came to grips with his situation. I love the Guilford town's people. I just needed more from the book. I want to know Mick's connection. Is he Malcom's son? I just want more.
Thank you to Shadow Mountain Publishing and NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book.

I just love a book that grabs me with the first sentence and first page - especially if it makes me laugh. This book did just that, and had me texting the line to my bestie to share the amusement. She'll have to read the book herself to see where it went from there. 😉
In this second installment of the Storm Tide series by Sarah M. Eden, we meet Kiplinger Summerfield (stupendous character name, in my opinion), a modern-day American and recently out-of-work actor. He has been residing in London for many years, and working on a period drama TV series. As he struggles to find a new role among the fickle world of acting, his wonderful best friend helps line him up with a job that will allow him to use his acting skills, despite the rather humbling step-down of the position. He is on his way to Guilford Island to work as a historical reenactor when a storm lands him in the Tides of Time, where he is then rescued by the lighthouse keeper on Guilford Island. The only problem? He is now in the year 1803!
Amelia Archibald, orphaned at a young age and taken in by her aunt and uncle, has a debilitating fear of the ocean. Even the sound of the waves is enough to disquiet her. While her uncle and aunt are good to her, her grandfather is a cruel, wretched man. He is already dead at the beginning of the story, but his despicableness reaches beyond the grave, as he does everything possible to prevent her from receiving her rightful inheritance. He cannot outright refuse it to her, but he does his best to prevent her access to it by placing demands in his will that will make it nearly impossible for her to fulfill the tasks required for receiving her inheritence.
Kip takes an inordinate amount of time to realize he is no longer in the modern day and is not just on an island that really sticks to historical accuracy for the sake of the reenactment. Normally, such obtuseness would wear on me, but because he truly thought everyone was acting, it actually made for quite an amusing thread. He and Amelia form a friendship, and then more, as they work together to help restore the estate and try to meet the demands of her grandfather's will, while also thwarting a greedy man who wants her to fail so that he can get his own hands on her inheritence.
I enjoyed this book so much! As always, Eden's writing is impeccable, and she weaves drama, laughter, and emotion into every aspect. Unlike the first novel in this series, there was only one jump. (I hope that doesn't count as a spoiler!) Because the previous book had multiple, I was never quite sure what was going to happen at the end of this one. I also liked the fact that while this is a series, every single character is brand new. Captain Travers is mentioned, but never actually makes an appearance. So the only recurring "character" is the Tides of Time! This is exciting, because it means there are SO many ways each book can go, and each one will be fresh and new!
I love the ending of this book! I had convinced myself that it was going to go a different way, but was happy to find out I was wrong. I will be eagerly awaiting more installments of this series! Thank you to NetGalley and Shadow Mountain Publishing for advanced access to this gem. All opinions are my own, and I was not required to leave a positive review.

A fabulous Time Travel romance.
I enjoyed Amelia and Kipling's story. I've read many time travel romances and found this to be "believable". Kip's prolonged confusion was handled well because of his expectations surrounding Guilford House being a historical site.
I loved the pair so much! Their tenacity was inspiring, and despite the personal trials they'd endured, they were such lovely people. 😍 Speaking of lovely people, the cast of characters were fabulous and varied.
A great closed-door read with zero foul language.
NB I received an ARC of this novel. Thanks NetGalley.

I loved this time travel book. It is the second in the series. I loved that Kip traveled from the present to the 1800s. His acting experience made him fit right in and added to the believability of his denial of the time travel. I enjoyed Amelia. I love that she continually overcomes but isn't bitter. Her kind heart to all those around her is endearing. I enjoyed how Amelia and Kip had an easy connection and instantly supported each other. A great read!

My thanks for the ARC goes to NetGalley and Shadow Mountain Publishing. I'm voluntarily leaving a review.

ECHOES OF THE SEA charmed me thoroughly—it's a lovely hug of a book.
I loved the main characters. Kip is in the middle of a career crisis, and Amelia is in a life crisis, trying to wrest control of her future away from her guardian.
Give me a complicated inheritance plot, and I'm all in. I loved how Amelia is facing her worst fears. That everything is impossibly difficult, but she perseveres. Kip is swept into an unfamiliar time period and is clueless, though others hint at what is happening. Once he figures out where he is, he has a lot of emotional upheaval to work through. He has admirable qualities, and on the side, the conversations around his tattoo are hilarious.
This book is entertaining and a great beach read. (I say it's good for any time.)
I highly recommend it.
Happy reading!

This was a cute read! I’m a sucker for time slip novels, so the premise definitely pulled me in. I’ll be honest—book one is still my favorite in the series, and I had a harder time really clicking with the characters this time around. That said, the storyline kept me intrigued, and I genuinely wanted to see how it all played out. The ending, in particular, totally made the book for me. It was satisfying in the best way.
I also really appreciated that it was a closed-door romance. It’s sweet, clean, and something I’d feel totally comfortable recommending to teens or anyone who likes their romance a little more subtle. Overall, it was a fun read with a unique twist, and even if it didn’t top the first for me, I’m glad I stuck with it!

A time travel romance series with a mix of historical references. Hey, the author might create the whole world but the reference is crazyy that I might believe if no one told me this is purely fiction. Kip, on the other hand, thinks everything is fiction after almost being taken away by the sea and saved by the lighthouse keeper. It's crazy to think Kip can come up to the conclusion everyone around the manor was purely in character to the point the building and language were bizarrely back in time? Well he initially planned to come there to play his job as a historical figure so it somehow makes sense to him.
As someone who read the first book, I like the first book better. While the first book has the elements of thriller, back and forth travelling, the second book comes out a bit milder and light romance. It’s a cute, short story for you to enjoy. Although it plays the same concept like the first story, it is a different kind of approach to the romance genre of a story in the same series. Usually, you would see the same pattern of plot in books written by the same author. But this one, I feel like the author experimenting or implementing various approaches to romantic encounters in her book which was quite interesting. And for some reason it feels like a calm before a storm. Like something interesting brewing for the next book in the series. I don’t know. I might read a bit too much into it.
I like the book, though if there are more surprising elements in the story I might give it a 5 stars. The first book is a really high benchmark for me, sorry haha. For those who come across this series, it’s okay to not read in sequence because for now the storyline doesn’t relate much to the first book. But you might understand the Time of Tides better from the first book and trust me you will be enthralled with the whole legend.

This is the second book in the series. I really enjoyed it! I loved the fact that Kipling was an actor in modern day London. He was supposed to be up for a part but then the sea took him back to 1803. Of course he doesn’t realize he has time travelled and thinks every one is playacting very accurately, and seriously. So he plays along. Amelia who lives in 1803, is set to receive an inheritance from her grandfather but is not allowed to step one foot off of the island in order to get it.
This was a really fun story. I really liked that Kipling was so oblivious that he had time travelled. I loved his confusion to why everyone would not stop “acting”. I felt bad for Amelia, how could her grandfather do that to her. She is terrified of the sea. I liked Amelia and Kipling together. They were such a great couple. I loved how much he wanted to help her with her situation, especially after finding out it was real and not acting. I also liked the lighthouse keeper and his family. Overall a great continuation to the series and I definitely recommend!

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author and netgalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

☆ABSOLUTELY, WONDERFUL STORY☆
I could hardly put it down and read it over 2 days. This time-travel romance was so authentic and believable, I could not be more pleased. Kipling and Amelia's connection is gentle and lovely. He is the perfect, gullible hero. She is the quietly strong underdog you cannot help but root for. The villagers are the great supporting cast we need. The villains, living and dead, align appropriately in their roles to set the stage for needed tensions. Overall, a wonderful fairytale, I am pleased to give an enthusiastic five stars to!!

I'm so excited that we're getting time-skip romances now with Shadow Mountain, they can be so fun! I thought that the premise and reasoning behind why Kip was denying that he had time traveled was perfect and made so much sense. I loved him and Amelia together - their romance was so sweet and I just fell in love with the community of Guilford and the whole cast of supporting characters! Sarah does an incredible job of making her books feel like a warm hug, and this is no exception (even if our setting is an estate with gloomy and almost gothic weather). I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who's a fan of Sarah's books or just looking to get into a good time-skip romance!
I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

An absolutely captivating story!
Kip thought the worst day of his life was losing the role of a lifetime in Hollywood and having to take a job playing dress-up as a historical reenactor...until a freak storm knocks him into the water and he has to be rescued by a mysterious lighthouse keeper. Even more mysterious is Amelia, the quiet but determined woman who seems to have stepped out of another century.
Thanks to her grandfather’s will, Amelia is now stuck on Guilford Island, isolated and alone and absolutely terrified of the sea. When a strange but handsome man with an odd vocabulary washes ashore, she isn't sure what to make of him but somehow, he is the first person who’s ever really seen her.
As Kip and Amelia grow closer, Kip starts to realize all is not as it first seemed and he is faced with an impossible choice.
What you'll love:
time-slip
dual pov
coastal setting
slow burn romance
protective hero
the villagers
loyal friends
plot twists
touch of magic
This book completely swept me away in the best, most unexpected way! From Kip and his modern day troubles to his journey through time and the soft, steady friendship between him and Amelia that slowly grows into something more, this is the kind of story you can get lost in...and I absolutely did!
I loved watching Kip and Amelia find love in the most unexpected place (and time!) and their romance was slow burn perfection. So much humor and heart as Kip fumbles his way through an unfamiliar world while trying to make sense of things, especially the way his protective nature kicks in when it comes to Amelia. He may be out of his depth and a little confused, but his is loyal and always on her side.
This setting was moody, isolated, and a little eerie but in the best kind of way. If you like time-slipe stories with tender romance, a rich atmosphere, and characters you want to hug, then this book is one you absolutely need to add to your TBR! A bit of suspense, a dash of magic, and a whole lot of heart. Already excited to read the next Storm Tide romance!
I received a complimentary copy but a positive review was not required.

Echoes of the Sea by Sarah M. Eden was another stunning time travel story! Such a sweet and fun romance and an intriguing plot. Kip and Amelia were such dynamic characters. I would highly recommend to any fan of historical fiction. I love how Eden craft the modern and historical detail with the exciting time travel quirkiness! Five stars.
I received an ARC through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Sarah Eden can do no wrong. If you loved her first time crossing romance you’ll love this one. While it’s related it also can really be its own stand alone novel just like her other stories. I love this new stuff she is doing. It’s fresh and fun and the tension is so good!

I had mixed expectations with this story, but was extremely pleased with it the whole way through!
I love time travel tales, but only if they are on the 'possible/believable' side, and not too fantastic or crazy. This book was wonderful in that it has a lot of believe-ability going for it.
I felt the stormy, green lightening premise of the time travel was very original and interesting, and provided a great mental visual of the drama of it!.
The characters were excellent, with a lot of dimension to them.
The plot was well written and flowed smoothly.
The romance was clean - with great chemistry and attraction.
The setting was a bit on the gothic side - which made the story all the more appealing.
I had not read the first book in this series before reading this one, but since I liked this one so much, I purchased the first one - and am currently already fully engaged with it and loving it.
I highly recommend this book for time travel lovers, with good drama, and clean romance.
💜 💜

Time travel is not my favorite trope, but I was totally pulled in by this story. I thought the whole storyline with Kipling thinking everyone was extremely in character all the time at a historical reenactment site was quite clever and unique--a good reason for him to be unaware that he'd even time traveled for a good portion of the book. It was a fun twist that made a not-so-favorite trope totally work for me.
I really liked Kipling and Amelia. They were both vulnerable but strong; they faced hard things but didn't get bitter and grumpy; they just kept trying t figure things out and move forward. I also really liked how kind they were to each other. They could tease each other (and there were moments that totally made me laugh out loud) but were also gentle and supportive of each other, and that was just really sweet. I absolutely loved them together.
Secondary characters were also endearing; I like how the community came together to help Amelia and how they also gave some really good advice to help Kipling and Amelia think about things a bit differently.
Two quibbles with the book: I didn't feel like the reason Amelia's grandfather was so cruel was adequately explained...and I want to know what Kipling's tattoo looks like, not just that he has one!
This was a pleasure to read. Highly recommend! 5 stars.
I read a DRC provided by the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

This is the perfect addition to Sarah’s time slip series. It’s amazing to me how Sarah can weave together such a great story with such great characters. I couldn’t put it down because I was so excited to read it and see what happened.
