What a wonderful addition to Sarah's Tide of Time series! I cannot wait for more!
Actor Kipling Summerfield is struggling. His reoccurring role on a television series has abruptly ended. With no prospects in sight, he begrudgingly takes a role at a historical sight on England's Guilford's Island. However, fate would have a different adventure for him as he is literally swept into the ocean only to be saved by a lighthouse keeper who insists on taking his "acting" role very seriously. As a matter of fact, everyone on this small island (and there are not many souls there) insist on being very method actors, or at least he believes they do. That is until he can no longer avoid the local legend of the Tides of Time and the fact that it is now 1803.
Amelia Archibald is quite literally stuck on Guilford Island. As a poor relation and an orphan, her only hope at securing her future is to abide by by her Grandfather's will and attempt her best to fix the years of abandonment and neglect done to the Island and its residence, a task that is virtually impossible. Not only is everything in ruin, she absolutely despises the ocean and is extremely afraid of it, making the fact that she must stay in the island for six months a difficult thing to accomplish. That is until a strange and handsome "gentleman" is rescued from the ocean. Maybe, just maybe, her greatest fear has also brought her her greatest love.

Echoes of the Sea is the second book in the Tides of Time series. I loved reading this series because of the reference to lighthouses and the mix of modern and historical. Kipling Summerfield, an actor, has been struggling since he lost his character died and has yet to find another acting job. When he hears about a job at a historical site looking for people to be part of a reenactment of the 1800s, he decides to take the job. Sitting on a deck near his new job, a sudden storm tosses Kipling into the waves. A lighthouse keeper saves him from drowning. Kipling finds himself at the historical site, He notices that the actors are very good at their job and never break out of character. He meets Amelia Archibald who is stuck on the island and cannot leave, or she will lose her inheritance. As time goes on, Kipling realizes that he isn't part of a reenactment but has been a part of what the islanders call the tides of time. I really enjoyed reading this book.

A time travel book that is so much more
This is a story of a present day, struggling actor, trying to find his place in the world, when he is swept into the sea in an area known for mysterious happenings. When Kipling was fished out of the sea he finds himself on an island he assumes is the location for his summer acting job, re-creation of an 1800’s town. The ‘actors’ are superb, never breaking character even when no one is around. And the setting has been rebuilt down to the smallest detail. No electricity. No plumbing. No modern conveniences at all. Slowly he realizes that he actually had traveled back in time to 1803. By the time Kip realizes where he is, he is deeply involved with Amelia, a young woman faced with an impossible task that will either free her or cause the loss of even more of her freedoms. As Kip and the villagers join with Amelia in her task, problems and even danger appear in the guise of her greedy uncle and his even more greedy friend. Will their work be for naught and can Kip find a way to make a life in a new, unfamiliar time? Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the copy. This is my review and all thoughts are my own.

Echoes of the Sea by Sarah M. Eden is the second novel in the Storm Tide series. The hero, Kipling Summerfield is an actor in England who was cut from a long-running historical television series. He struggles to find another acting job and is urged by a friend to spend the summer as a reenactor in an historical village on the coast of England. Before he begins this job, he is swept off of a pier in a storm by the village. He is rescued by a lighthouse keeper on a coastal island and does not realize that the green lightning has transferred him two hundred years into the past. The island is the site of Guilford House, currently being managed and restored by Amelia Archibald, the orphan raised by an indifferent uncle. The plot has many twists and turns as Kip and Amelia come to the realization they are from different time periods but are attracted to each other. Kip must deal with the loss of all he has known and Amelia must complete the difficult task assigned in her grandfather's will to gain her inheritance. The main characters are really well done and the secondary characters are equally good. The villain is a blaggard. The setting makes the time and place believable and the local dialect is interesting. The time travel is deftly handled in this novel. Strongly recommended for readers who like clean historical romance with a touch of fantasy.

This was such a beautiful book! I loved the historic vibes and modern touches. I don’t know why but O kept getting TLM vibes and picture like Jonah & Halle playing these parts. A girl can dream right? I love that these books are part of a series and I really look forward to checking more out

Loooved this book. It has time travel, romance, and a dash of mystery. I really wanted to know what happened to the main characters after the story was over. I also wanted to know what happened to the best friend in the future, did the timeline get tinkered with, what do they think happened to the missing man?

I am so glad I found these novels. I absolve the mix of modern and history and think it is so romantic how either the characters go back in time or into the future and find love. So beautiful! I wish they would make these into movies.
