Listening or reading Courtney’s books are like a cozy warm hug. You know the characters are going to have some flaws but always have wonderful backstories and big hearts. The main character Rosie has big dreams but feels that she is failing when she isn’t reaching those goals. Her life changes when she mass applies to acting jobs and gets one! But…she didn’t read what the position is. After some research she learns she will be part of a creative team for a theater group in Wisconsin… and she is shocked to learn that the theater group is a retirement community. Following Rosie and the residents of the community throughout the book is so fun. It made me miss my grandparents, and maybe also move into this community (they have pickleball!) Jorjeana Marie was a wonderful narrator!

Another hit from Courtney Walsh! This was a really sweet book. Struggling theater actress takes a mystery job in a new community. Hijinks ensue and she finds love. What's not to like?
One thing I love about Courtney's books are the emphasis on the side characters. I feel like I was able get to know and love the whole community.
The other thing I love about this author is that the conflict isn't usually from the romance. No miscommunication trope here! The romance isn't the driving force behind the plot (which I think is a good thing) but it's still oh so sweet and swoony.
The audiobook was fantastic. The narrator fit the voice of the main character perfectly.
Content: Romance is kisses only. No swearing.
Overall if you like sweet romance, women's fiction, theater, and friends across generations, I highly recommend this!

I have read several books by Courtney Walsh and I think this one may be my new favorite! I fell in love with the story right from the start and didn’t want to stop reading or listening (I did this book as a mix of audio and kindle).
This story focuses on Rosie and her summer working as a director of a show for senior citizens- a piece of the job that she didn’t realize was a thing until she arrived. Once there she finds a loving community of adorable characters, including the charming Booker who is the physical therapist in the community. This story was adorable and really showed how it’s ok to work out of your comfort zone. The narrator for the audio did such a great job differentiating her voice between characters that it made it so easy to follow the different characters.
I absolutely loved everything about this story! The setting was surprising and quirky and the characters were so easy to fall in love with. I adored the growth that Rosie and Arthur had in their friendship.
Thank you to Netgalley, Thomas Nelson Publishing and Zondervan Fiction Audio for my ARC and ALC copies of this book

I received an advance copy for review. This was an exceptional meet cute that will hit you in all your feels. I loved the aspect of the retirement community and the relationships among the younger folk and their friends. I also really enjoyed the discovery of love, and how it feels to find that home just right for you.

This is a fun, entertaining, good story. I love Rosie’s growth from the start of the story to the end. The secondary characters are quirky and add so much to the story. They all brought something to the plot and Rosie that makes this story that much more special. The romance is sweet, tender, loving, special and a big part of what I enjoyed about this book. The ending was perfect for Booker and Rosie. The story’s message is powerful and a good reminder. The story is easy to read and get into.
I enjoyed the audio version of the book and the narrator.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to listen to the audiobook of Everything’s Coming Up Rosie in exchange for my honest review.
This story follows Rosie, a struggling actress from New York who, after a series of unexpected twists, ends up directing a play for a group of senior citizens in small-town Wisconsin. The setup is delightfully quirky, and the book delivers a lot of heart, a lovable cast of characters, and a swoony love interest in Booker.
If you love Broadway and romance, this book will feel like it was written just for you. I certainly felt that way. It hits all the feel-good notes of a cozy rom-com while celebrating creativity, second chances, and community.
I’m giving it 3 ½ stars, which for me means I liked it but didn’t quite love it. The pacing felt a bit slow in places, especially toward the end, and I found myself wanting to get to the resolution a little faster.
Still, this is a sweet and solid read that I’d recommend to anyone looking for a light-hearted, uplifting story—perfect for a weekend escape or a relaxing day at the beach.

Loved, loved, loved! This book is a heartfelt hug about finding yourself, rekindling your passion, embracing your weird and the evolution of reimagining your dreams. Life doesn’t always go as expected. It’s hard, it’s messy but it’s also beautiful, and just the way it’s meant to be. I loved the multi generation aspect of this book, and the lessons & guidance they gave the FMC. Such a great book with the best message.

Rosie is moving home after 7 long years, she’s saying farewell to NYC. She gave it her best and she failed, having a career in theater was hard. Now it’s time to face the music and head home, but when she gets there all of her friends seemed to be thriving. So there was no way she could confide in them that her dream failed.
Then an offer letter came through her email for a summer role. It offered a god salary, onsite lodging with food, and started immediately. So she instantly said yes not realizing what she signed up for….
When she arrived, she soon realized she may be in over her head. She was directing a production of Cinderella but her cast was SENIORS! This role was to work at a retirement community and help them save their theater. She was a failure how was she suppose to be good at this.
But the residents and a handsome physical therapist will be by her side through it all. This summer will be a whirlwind full of fun, mud, chipmunks, show tunes, drama, romance, and personal growth.

This book was such a heartfelt, feel-good surprise. I absolutely loved it. Rosie was the kind of character you instantly want to root for: strong, a little lost, but full of heart. Her journey felt so genuine, and her lifelong group of friends added so much warmth and support to the story.
And can we talk about Booker? I loved his character, he brought such depth and sincerity to the story. His moments with Rosie were some of my absolute favorites.
I also adored the retirement community setting! The seniors were such a vibrant and lovable cast full of charm, wisdom, and just the right touch of sass. Their presence made the book feel like a cozy hug.
The ending wasn’t what I expected, but it summed everything up so beautifully and left me with a full heart.
If you’re in the mood for something uplifting, character-driven, and full of heart, this one’s a must-read.

This book was super cute and the audiobook for it was well done. I loved this book for a lot of reasons. The first was just how funny the whole premise was. But another reason was for the very well written storyline of self-discovery here.
I loved the whole message that it's okay if your dreams change shape. Sometimes, you just have to change your definition of what your goals are to make yourself truly happy, and stop yourself from chasing something that isn't meant for you.
I loved the setting of the retirement community here and I loved the /community/ aspect in this book as well. I think that the author was really able to communicate a lot of different lessons throughout this book in a perfect "show, not tell" way.

I loved this book.
Rosie is down on her luck. She's having a tough time making it as an actress. She's auditioned over and over, and she gets only small parts, or parts in shows that close quickly, like the last major role she had. She's behind in her rent - in a place where she has no friends, only roommates. Rosie has wonderful friends from her earlier years and she is happy to have a get together with them, but they are all "making it." She is considering moving back to her partially-estranged mother's. That's when an offer comes in to be a creative director at a regional theater. Only it's not really what she was hoping it would be once she gets there.
The book changes tone several times. At first, Rosie feels desperation and perhaps envy. Then she's elated to have a job, stunned when she learns what it is. But this part of the book is so funny, I was laughing out loud and giggling to myself. Then she starts to dig deep and she exudes confidence, building up her team, even if she's not exactly feeling it herself. Struggles, disaster, and the beginning of love. But is this what she really, really wants for herself? She questions her motivation and her goals, ultimately making the decision that is right for herself.
I so enjoyed this book. I had both the e-book and the audio. The narrator was perfect for this book. Her emotions were spot on. Be sure to read the author's note. It's an interesting look into her background, some of which is part of Rosie.

This was a cute and simple story. It felt like a love letter to the theater community, which as a big Broadway fan - I enjoyed.
I almost DNFed this book at the very beginning due to the narrator and the slow start. But I got sucked into the storyline and I’m glad I stuck it out. It was a cute, closed door romance that showed us Rosie self journey to acceptance and reimagining her dreams.
Thank you Netgalley for the ALC in exchange for my honest review.

Courtney Walsh did it again! She is an automatic read for me, and this did not disappoint. The rom-com was so fun to read, and doesn’t have the spice that most do…so it’s great for pretty much anyone. This is a wholesome story of overcoming your fears / challenges, working hard for things, and self-discovery, especially when faced with unexpected challenges.

Most Likely to Bring Out The Inner Theater Kid
This one spoke to the long, lost theater kid in me. This is Rosie's story about comically ending up somewhere she didn't mean to be, but finding herself, and also love while there.
What I loved:
- He falls first (gets me every time)
- Relationship building between Rosie and the minor characters (Specifically Arthur and her friends)
- Quirky side characters
- Rosie's journey from self doubt to confidence
- A FMC who did not give up on her dream for a man
- A great Narrator (I listened to this one)
What I didn't love as much:
- How Rosie hid so much from her family and friends that truly were so supportive
- Belinda being such a mean girl (she was too old to be acting that way)
- Single POV (Just a personal preference, I love a dual POV)
Thank you to Net Galley, Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Audio, and Courtney Walsh for an ALC of this story.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this ARC audiobook for an honest review.
This was the perfect summer read and such great narration! I love Courtney Walsh and her sweet, fun romances. This one had it all...great heroine (Rosie), swoony book boyfriend (Booker), quirky cast of senior citizens (and one teenager!) and great supportive friends. This audiobook made me so giddy listening to it. It is one of those books that make you smile and giggle out loud. The banter was great not only between the romantic leads, but within the whole community. So much snark and I loved every minute! And the ending was chef kiss...:)

This was a cute story about finding yourself in the most unlikely of ways and really start to find what you really want with your life.
Rosie has always wanted to be a working actor being on the stage is the best feeling. But with moving to New York she learns its not as easy as she thought and she felt lost. When she gets a job offer to direct she jumps at it only problem she didnt read the posting on where and who before she applied or took the job. But as she submerse herself in doing the best job she can she truly finds herself and what her next steps will look like.
This was a heart felt and lol story.
Thank You NetGalley for this Audio Arc in exchange for my honest thoughts.

One thing about me - I’m a theater nerd. I have loved broadway shows since I can remember and acted any chance I could get growing up. This book brought all the nostalgic feels! The way the characters love the theater - I wish I could be part of the “old people” Cinderella production with them!
While I was rooting for Rosie and Booker, I will admit I was most invested in the relationship between Rosie and Arthur. The way they help each other grow is the kind of supportive friend we all hope for!
Another great one by Courtney Walsh who is masterful at building the chemistry in close door romance!

3.5 rounded up to 4
This book surprised me with how charmingly funny and sweet it was. It was a little slower paced at the beginning and took a little bit to really grab me. The narrators voice is a little nasally which combined with how much the fmc was whining at the beginning made me a little apprehensive, but I grew to appreciate her voice and the quirkiness it lent Rosie. The side characters were lovable and varied and the growth in relationships there was really satisfying to read. There was lots of character growth through this and it was a very sweet if very clean romance (only kissing). I did also find the occasional prayers and Christian references a little jarring but know that's a personal preference.

4.5 stars.... This book was funny, heartwarming, and had a little romance thrown in. I saw myself in Rosie, feeling like a failure while everyone else is thriving. Booker and Rosie's relationship was sweet and felt very natural, not rushed or thrown together. The narrator made me feel like I was in the story. Highly recommend this book/audio to everyone.

Everything's Coming Up Rosie is a book for the dreamers - those with a dream that has seemed out of reach and those who have had to reimagine that dream. It is an uplifting story that centers around our heroine, Rosie, and her journey of personal growth and self fulfillment.
After losing her job and apartment, Rosie is at a crossroads; with no acting prospects on the horizon, should she give up or keep pursuing her dream? She hasn't exactly been forthcoming with her friends and family regarding the true state of her life and career, so she also faces the dilemma that making that choice might require her to come clean. She doesn't want to be seen as a failure, even as she struggles with those same feelings and self doubt. Out of desperation, she takes a job directing a regional theatre's production of Cinderella; and it is there that she meets the people who will impact her in ways she never expected.
The supporting cast was my favorite part of this book. Give me all the sassy grandmas and grumpy curmudgeons with secret hearts of gold. The unlikely friendship between Rosie and the residents of the retirement community and the way they force her to face her insecurities and examine what she really wants is what makes this book so heartwarming and endearing. I also adored Booker, the MMC. He is kind, honest, thoughtful, and a total cinnamon roll. It is no wonder that all of his fellow staff loved him and the residents try to set him up with their daughters. He is the type of MMC that you root for from the start. I loved the witty and flirty banter between him and Rosie and the way he won her over to being more than just friends.
While I enjoyed the overall premise and arc of this book, I struggled with it at times. Rosie often came off a little immature for a woman in her late 20s. There were also some issues with pacing and repetition, especially in Rosie's inner thoughts and dialogue, which there was too much of in general for my taste. There are only so many times I can hear her say she's ready to come clean to her friends before I wanted to yell at her to just do it already. I would have preferred to see more of her interactions with the staff and residents, and a bit more development of her relationship with Booker, especially since they are the primary impetus behind her growth.
I won't call this "clean romance" because, to be honest, I loathe that term. Instead, I prefer to use a spice rating/level for those that want to know that information in advance. This book would be a zero on that level, as there are no intimate scenes. I'd also put it in the romance-lite women's fiction category rather than general romance. There is a love interest, but that part of the story is secondary to Rosie's struggles and her journey of self discovery and personal growth.
When I came across the book on NetGalley, I knew nothing about the book, author, or publisher; but the blurb sounded interesting, so I decided to request it and give it a try. And I'm glad I did. Overall, I thought it was heartwarming, sweet, and worth the listen.
The narrator, Jorjeana Marie, was new to me as well, and I enjoyed her performance. The reading was a little slow, but she did a great job conveying the emotions the characters were feeling and bringing the story to life. I think she was the right choice for Rosie, and now that I've heard her, I don't think I can imagine anyone else voicing Rosie's character.
I received an advanced listener's copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review. Thank you to NetGalley, Thomas Nelson, and Zondervan Fiction Audio for the ALC!

*ARC and ALC Review*
This book was a cute read overall. Full disclosure, it took me a little while to get through it. I didn't quite connect with the main character or her hobbies, which slowed me down a bit.
That said, there were definitely some hilarious and heartwarming supporting characters that kept me engaged. Arthur was a real standout for me. I loved his growth throughout the story and his wise insights.
The audiobook was engaging. Jorjeana Marie, the single narrator, did an awesome job bringing all the different characters to life with her voice. If you're thinking of picking this one up, I'd highly recommend giving the audiobook a listen!
