Lighthearted and hopeful. Sweet story. For me it could have been about 2 hours shorter but delightful none the less.

What a lovely, cute romance read to start my May reading. This is my first Courtney Walsh novel and I’m looking forward to reading through her backlog now.

I’ll start with the audiobook element of this review. The narration in this was fantastic. The pacing was great, the voice distinction was realistic and I really believed the storyline through Jorjeana Marie’s narration. I was shocked this was narrated by one person rather than a full cast. I feel like I listened to this novel at exactly the right time and I could fully relate to Rosie. She’s lost and unsure of where her future is going to take her, with the pressures of her friends looking like they have the best lives from the outside. And then an unexpected job throws a spanner in the works and her luck may be on the up.

The location of this novel was great and really added to the story. The side characters and found family setup made me fall for everyone. There are some hilarious characters and some really heartfelt moments between generations. I got some serious Dirty Dancing vibes from this story, if it were set at a retirement complex and with the POV of twentysomethings working at a summer camp or the High School Musical 2 location. Basically, take all the best bits of those references and you have the vibe of this book. It’s a slow burn and sweet romance but felt realistic and unhurried.

I really really enjoyed this novel and think it’s a perfect summer holiday romance! Thank you for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook before release!

Rosie’s journey to finding herself and what’s really important to her is cute. The setting in the retirement community is different and fitting and leaves room for funny incidents. The love story is nice enough, but a bit generic.
The narration is fitting.
All in all, it’s a cute romance read and perfect for light reading on vacation.

Rosie Waterman’s biggest dream is to be a successful actress. Unfortunately, that’s not how life is working out. Pressured by her friends’ successful relationships, careers, & even one starting a family, Rosie doesn’t reveal that acting life in NYC isn’t all that it appears. When she’s offered a job to direct Cinderella at a rural theatre program near her hometown for the summer, she jumps at the opportunity. What she doesn’t realize is that it’s a senior center’s production, and many of the actors have no experience on the stage. While navigating new challenges, Rosie opens herself to this new experience, love, and the idea of a different dream to pursue.
This was a sweet story with some roots in realizing that dreams can change - and that’s okay! It’s a sentiment many can relate to. I struggled with wanting to like Rosie, however. At times she came off as unreasonable and bratty and that may have been the point, but it made it hard for me to like her and sympathize with her experiences in the story. Really enjoyed many of the supporting characters though! And the narration was well down and fun to listen to.
Thank you to Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Audio for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

This is an uplifting story about having a dream, struggling to make the picture in your mind a reality, and finding happiness in the journey. I really enjoyed the ending. It’s a great read for young adults and appropriate for me to recommend to my students. I enjoyed the character development. The narrator of the audiobook is exactly how I picture the main character sounding.

I have enjoyed Courtney Walsh’s books previously and this one did not disappoint. The storyline was fun, and the narrator’s voice was pleasant. An enjoyable listen.

Thank you to NetGalley, Courtney Walsh, Thomas Nelson, and Zondervan Fiction Audio for the audiobook arc in exchange for an honest review.

5 stars

The audiobook was narrated by Jorjeana Marie incredibly. Because of the distinct different voices, I thought it was a cast performance. I highly recommend the audiobook!

4 stars

This one is hard for me to review. I struggled with the story in the beginning mainly because Rosie felt like a younger character rather than her being in her late 20s. I also wasn’t a fan of her behavior when to found out she was going to be working with senior citizens. I was pleased with character development over time. I loved the depth we got to see from Rose’s character. I do wish it was shown to us sooner. She started to appreciate the people she was working with and let them inspire her and vice versa. I loved the characters in this senior community. They were the best part of the story for me. Even though the romance was in the background it was good. They fit well together. I would read another book about these characters.

This is such a fantastic book. We all love a book with hidden meaning and this one has it in spades. I learned a lot about myself from the main character in this book. I couldn't recommend this book more! 5 stars!

Many thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for an audio ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I don't know how Courtney Walsh does it, but she consistently writes stories with characters, specifically heroines, that reflect so much of my own heart. Picking up one of her novels is like receiving a much-needed hug and that is exactly how I felt reading Everything's Coming Up Rosie.
I absolutely loved the inside look at theater and theater life in this book. Not only could I feel the author's passion for the theater in this story and the authenticity, but it made me want to go out and support my local arts. It was a neat backdrop to a beautiful story.
I liked how this book felt relatable to me personally and I would even say I found it to be relatable to anyone who doesn't feel their life went according to plan and the comparison to others and their expectations. There was so much depth, heart, and growth along with a fabulous dose of romance. In fact, Booker was SO good if you ask me and I loved the opposites attract vibe between him and Rosie.
I loved the secondary characters, the engaging storyline, the way the book hugged me from start to finish. It was a happy read and left me feeling better than it found me.
I listened to an advance listening copy of this novel from Netgalley, Thomas Nelson, and Zondervan Fiction Audio. The narrator initially sounded a little young for Rosie, but she grew on me and I will both listen to this as an audiobook again and recommend it in this format to others. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I LOVED everything about this book. Rosie is easy to adore and I couldn’t help but root for her the entire book. This one was the perfect balance between heart breaking and heart warming. I am hoping for a sequel!!

Another winner from Courtney Walsh. I had the pleasure of reading and listening simultaneously and I loved the combination. Walsh’s books, stories and characters all evoke real and raw emotion - I truly loved this cast of characters and look forward to Courtney’s next one!

Took me a little bit to get into this book but I did finally come around and really enjoyed it. I will say it’s a classic romantic comedy but was a little different since the FMC had an actor/theater personality. I loved how she was funny and out spoken.

I listened to the audiobook ARC of Everything’s Coming Up Rosie. This was my first book by Courtney Walsh. The story follows the MFC Rosie as she finds her place in the theater world. She struggles with self doubt and confidence. This story started very slow for me and took me awhile to get into. I thought the premise was cute, although it never really hooked me. The side characters were fun and the setting of a retirement community was adorable. I enjoyed the ending and was glad to see Rosie happy and proud. Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this ARC.

Sometimes life takes you exactly where you need to be in the most unexpected of ways. After struggling to break through for years as an actor in New York, Rosie Waterman finds herself taking a job as director of a regional theatre production in Door County, Wisconsin. At least she’ll still be working on the stage.

The thing is, though, that Rosie didn’t exactly read the job description very thoroughly when she applied.

And it’s not exactly the type of regional theatre she is expecting.

Rosie has signed on to direct seniors in a retirement community production of Cinderella, and both they and she are in for an adjustment.

Rosie, bless her heart, is a bit clueless in many ways. Although she’s in her late 20s, this is still a coming of age novel of sorts. There is a bit of a summer romance—that we, as readers, of course, are hoping will extend past the final days of summer—but much of the focus is on Rosie, herself, opening up, gaining confidence, and finding the fun in life again and how, in the process, she impacts the lives of those around her.

Arthur, a particular, occasionally curmudgeonly, but highly insightful resident and theatre devotee was my absolute favorite part of the book.

Jorjeana Marie captures Rosie’s youthfulness so well in the audiobook version, but I didn’t love her voices for the male characters.

I received an advance copy of the audiobook Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Audio. All review opinions are my own.

This book started off very slow but I'm so glad I stuck with it. In this wholesome story, Rosie has big broadway dreams living/working in New York but, keeps striking out. Her self-worth is down and when she is forced to move home she feels worse when her friends are all doing so well. She hasn't told her friends about how unsucessful she truley has been. While home she is offered a job in Door County Wisconsin. Without looking into too many details of the position she takes it. After arriving at her new abode for the summer she slowly discovers that her employer is not what she expected. As the story progresses we see Rosie grow and her dreams shift into something new.

A sweet, funny read.

Many thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All thoughts are my own.

POV:
This is a first-person point of view. We get Rosie Waterman's perspective. However, I would have enjoyed receiving the male love interest, Booker, as I would have enjoyed hearing his perspective and story.
Short Summary:
We follow Rosie Waterman's move to Wisconsin Door County after she receives a job offer as a director. In hopes of doing something she loves; as in the beginning of the book, we find out that she is both homeless and jobless. So, she took this job offer, and we followed her as she navigated into the new place and met new people.
Review:
One of the aspects of this book that struck a chord with me was Rosie's relatability. Like many of us, Rosie questions her dreams and whether her actions are enough. Her fear of not being good enough and successful is a feeling that resonates with readers. We all have times when we seek support and feel like our lives are in disarray. Rosie's struggles with self-doubt, her fear of failure, and her journey to find her place in the world, which involved [specific experiences or challenges], are all experiences that many of us can relate to. For instance, her struggle with [specific experience] and her fear of [specific fear] are moments that many readers will find familiar. This shared experience can make us feel understood and validated.
The romance in this book is a slow burn, a gradual and realistic portrayal of a relationship. We don't see any significant change in 50 percent of the book, but this pacing makes the romance compelling. It's a refreshing change from the typical instant love stories. However, I thoroughly enjoyed that aspect of the book. Not to mention, the love interest (Booker) in this book was very supportive of Rosie's dreams and aspirations. Though seemingly excessive, his unwavering support and understanding were a testament to his character development. This support was a plot device and a crucial element in Rosie's journey. Through his support, Rosie was able to [specific development or achievement]. I soon realized that this was just who he was: a genuinely supportive and understanding partner.
The author's note at the end of this book is a treasure trove of insights that I greatly appreciated. In it, the author shares their personal experiences and the real-life inspirations behind the characters and themes in the book. This note gave me a deeper understanding of the story and a greater appreciation for the author's craft. It's like a backstage pass to the author's mind, and I've always found such notes to be a fascinating way to connect with the story and the author's creative process. For instance, the author's personal experience and how it influenced Rosie's character was a revelation that added a new layer of depth to the story.
Overall, This was a great, clean romance that I highly recommend to anyone who loves theater and quirky characters.

After losing her job and her home, Rosie is desperate to find a job. She has dreamed her whole life of being an actor and jumps at the chance of being director of Cinderella! It's a dream! It's a big chance! But when she arrives, she realizes that she has been hired by a retirement community and the talent will be the residents at the home. Has she bitten off more than she can chew????

This book has its fair share and cute and endearing moments. As Rosie gets to work, she has more than few challenges and obstacles to overcome. I enjoyed watching Rosie go from shock to acceptance then to enjoying what she was doing. I enjoyed the humor and the message of going for your dreams, taking chances, being vulnerable, self-growth, friendship, and drama! This book also has some romance and a very nice sense of community/found family which I always enjoy.

While there were parts of this book that I really enjoyed, there were other parts that were slow and at times I felt as if I would never finish this book. I struggle with slow and that brought down some of my enjoyment of the book.

Others enjoyed this book more than I did, so please read their reviews as well.

I had both the book and audiobook for Everything's Coming Up Rosie which made for a fully immersive reading experience. I thought the narrator of the audiobook did a great job of bringing the book to life!

Rosie is leaving New York to determine what's next in her career. She returns home for a brief stent before getting an exciting opportunity in Wisconsin. Only the opportunity is not what she expected!

I love a good Courtney Walsh novel! If you're familiar with her writing style, you're sure to enjoy Rosie, her friends, and the cast of Cinderella. I loved Rosie's glow-up! I felt giddy by her joy and perseverance. Big feelings are worth facing! Every character is so intentional and great. Though the beginning was slow, the pace picked up and provided for an entertaining story! The audio narrator was excellent as well.

Thank you Netgalley and Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Audio for this early listener copy!

To be honest, I wasn't expecting much when I requested this book. But I kept hearing about it and thought, I'll give it a read. And I was not disappointed. This is a lovely, closed door romance that entertained and warms the heart. Rosie is a struggling actress who moves to Wisconsin to be the creative director at a theatre. What she doesn't know is it's a theatre for senior citizens. But what starts off as what she considers rock bottom, turns out to be the best thing that's ever happened to her. It's really well written, the characters are beautifully fleshed out and the romance is just delightful. The narrator was a good choice - her singsong sweet voice matches the tone for the book which really added to the listening experience.
The narrator is brilliant. I loved her perky upbeat narration. She wasn't perfect with the men's voices 100% of the time, but it didn't take away from the performance. Thank you NetGalley and Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Audio for the advance audio arc. All opinions are my own.

I loved the unique setting of this story I won’t specifiy here because I feel it's better discovering it on your own. The funny, quirky, and loud personality of Rosie was so enjoyable. Booker is cool, suave, and handsome popularity. The many supporting characters were a great addition. Rosie goes on a self-discovery journey to find out who she really is and what she wants to be in life.

There are no swears or alcohol and level 1 kisses only. Dual POV.

I listened to the audio and the narrator was easy to understand and enjoyable to listen to.
