This was a super sweet story about a girl trying to find her way and meeting a guy along the way that helps her learn to love herself and find her purpose! The characters in this book were precious and I loved the setting of the retirement community, very cozy!

Summary: Rosie has always had a dream of acting, but it just doesn't seem to be paning out for her. When she is offered the job as director of a regional theatre's production of Cinderella in Wisconsin, she jumps at the chance. While she's there, she realizes quickly that it is a theatre in a retirement community. After the shock wore off, she decides to give it her all and put on the best performance. As she works with her group, she realizes that maybe she shouldn't give up on her dreams yet.
My Thoughts: This was such a cute story of not giving up on your dreams even after many nos and to make lemonade out of lemons. The thing about Courtney Walsh's books(especially her traditionally published ones) is that the romance isn't always the focus, but it sure puts a smile on your face and makes your heart swoon for their story. My favorite part was probably when she crashes her golf cart into the mud, and Booker is there to help her. I love how their relationship just naturally came about and that they were very honest with one another.
I loved all of the people in the retirement community that Rosie made lasting relationships with because they gave her such great advice and wisdom. I particularly loved Arthur, who made sure Rosie wouldn't give up on her dream, despite his surly behavior toward her at first. I loved the way Rosie pulled Dylan, a teenager living with her grandma in this community, making her feel more at home and giving her a purpose to work toward.
🎧I enjoyed the audio of this book. Jorjeana Marie did a great performance of this book. She did a wonderful job of bringing all the characters to life, making it obvious who was talking. Jorjeana got into Rosie's head and made it a very relatable story.

Courtney Walsh's Everything's Coming Up Rosie is a sweet tale of a young lady finding her way in the world. Life goals, working through issues, meeting folks, finding a bit of romance along the way. A real personal journey for the main lady.
Walsh adds some colorful characters and nice descrptions of a retirement community in the Wisconsin Dells area.
The audio version of Everything's Coming Up Rosie is nicely performed by Jorjeana Marie.

I have never related to a book so hard, then I did with Everything’s coming up Rosie by @courtneywalsh.

Rosie is a women in her mid twenties trying to make as an actress in New York. With summer approaching and no casting line ups in sight. She heads up. Weighing down with the failure that was her past year.
In a panic, she begins applying for any work to do with theatre. Only to be hired as the creative director, for a production of Cinderella.
As a girl who went straight into performing arts and wanting to pursue acting. I understood first hand Rosie’s pain. This disappointing and fear of letting those who supported you down.
The Narrator did a beautiful job. One of distinguishing the different tones of different people. Especially in scenes with cast and group chats. So the listener has a depth understanding of who’s talking without having to hear a name. But she did a beautiful job or noting the emotion tones of the characters at the right times!

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Thomas Nelson, and Zondervan Fiction Audio for the opportunity to listen and review.

Such a fun book! A story of self discovery, love and friendship! I loved every second of it! The friends Rosie made along the way was just as enjoyable as the romance she found! Which was swoony and lovely!

I don't read christian fiction and had this been labelled appropriately I would not have requested it.

This was such a cute read! It started off slow, but I ended up really loving it. The setting was charming, and the characters were fun and easy to root for. The audiobook was solid, I’d give it a 3 out of 5.

I received a copy of this audiobook from netGalley for a honest review.
I loved this book! If this retirement community ever needs a librarian I'm in! I did spend a good deal of the end of this book going this is a love story not a romance because I just couldn't see how they were going to end up together but the author did a great job of making it a romance. Though I'm still not sure if they had sex in this book- slept together yes, sex I'm not so sure. I will read more by this author.

As a former drama kid in high school, this book hit all the right notes for me. I loved seeing Rosie's journey through discouragement into finding herself again and realizing that joy comes through connections and community as well as seeking to fulfill your own gifts. The side characters in this book are totally loveable and I want a spin off book following Birdie or Beatrice. I am sure that there are many more stories to be told in the retirement community! This is marketed as a sweet closed door romance (just kisses), but felt a bit more like women's fiction to me. The chemistry was sweet, but the story was more focused on Rosie which I actually loved. It did move a little slowly for me. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator did a great job bringing all of the characters and Rosie's internal monologues to life. Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC copy!

"It all seems so naive now. It’s amazing how seven years can change everything. Seven years of auditions, callbacks, rejections. Seven years of temp jobs and ushering patrons to their seats and getting very good at making fancy coffee drinks. Seven years of what is starting to feel like wasted time."
Pursuing theater felt like a dream for Rosie. After 7 years, her hopes have been dashed. Now she is willing to try anything and everything including sending lots of applications to anything feasible. Maybe being director at a theater might be a nice change of pace. Until she arrives at the location and discovers that this opportunity was not at all what she was anticipating. But maybe God has other better plans.
The cast of characters in this book are unexpected. Occasionally I wanted to take Rosie aside and help her to listen to reason. She definitely was in her head which felt overwhelming at times since she seemed stuck in circumstances that did not need to define her. Self-Actualization and realization are definitely important plot points. By the end, Rosie had definitely redeemed herself.
This book is part comedy, part romance and even part sadness. Tragedy might be taking it too far, but Rosie does have some past circumstances to overcome. This book is a great reminder that it is never too late to start over. Another book by Courtney Walsh that I will gladly recommend.
I read this book on NetGalley. I also listened to parts of it through NetGalley. The narrator was wonderful. And I enjoyed having both options. I wanted to read and review this book. All opinions are my own.

As a struggling actress, Rosie Waterman has just about given up hope, and decides to take a job as the director of a regional theatre’s production of Cinderella. Upon arrival at the job, she discovers this “regional theatre” is actually a retirement community, with a cast of senior citizen actors. As Rosie tried to embrace this new career, she also connects with a fellow employee Booker, the Physical Therapist at the retirement community.
Courtney Walsh is known for her feel-good, uplifting reads, and this latest novel is no exception! I liked how the book not only focused on the romance component of the story, but also the intergenerational friendships, a trope I absolutely love. Additionally, I’m a fan of musical theatre, so yet another component of the story to love as well! This was a fun and heartfelt read!
Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Publishers for my gifted digital + audio copies!

Rosie Waterman is down on her luck. After she loses her apartment and job in the same day, she moves back home. Almost 30, she feels like she's way behind her friends who are all married, have real jobs and having babies. All she can show for her acting career is a guest spot on Law & Order: SVU.
Undettered, she finds a job as a director for a production of Cinderella in an retirement community. Along the way, she meets Booker, but is careful not to rush into anything since this job is in Door County, Wisconsin, and she lives in Chicago.
This was a fun, summer read, with the message, you can't always get what you want, but you get what you need.

I LOVE Courtney Walsh. I have just started reading her books this year and she has become a favorite author of mine! This story was such a cute story and the romance was so sweet! Also, huge plus with there being no spice. It was refreshing! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Great summer read!

I really loved this story. It had a slow start but once it picked up, it did not stop. It was fun and heart warming.
Full of community and personal growth, this book really shines in the charcter arc. However, the romance is so sweet and I loved how everything turned out.
The audiobook wasn't my favorite. The sound would go in and out like some parts were recorded and added back in and the volume was higher. Other than that the narration was fine.

Incredible book and fantastic as an audio! Super engaging and easy to get absorbed in it. I was also able to still work while listening but felt like I absorbed everything which was perfect.

A sweet little story that I believe most of us can relate to at one time or another. Rosie is adorable and you can’t help but root for her.
Thank you to the publisher/author for the opportunity to listen to this complimentary advanced copy. Opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of this book!
I LOVED this book. I laughed, I cried, I laughed while I cried.
I teach theatre, so this book spoke to me in a deeper way simply because of the setting, but I don’t think you have to be a theatre person to enjoy this story. The character growth Rosie experiences through the course of her summer directing Cinderella at the retirement community is relatable to anyone who has had a dream shift and change. Courtney knocked it out of the park for me with this one. Brava!

I am not usually a romcom fan, but I love musical theater so couldn’t resist this one. It was a cute, fun story with likable characters and some fairly deep themes of chasing dreams, expectation, and reality. I don’t mind spice, but also enjoyed that this book was more just sweetly romantic. I listened to the audiobook and was honestly not a fan of the narrator, especially how she voiced the friends.

This book is the "good stuff." It's a sweet reminder that dreams don't always look conventional and that it's okay to pivot. I found Rosie extremely relatable, and her journey through directing a retirement community's production of Cinderella inspiring. Rosie not telling her friends that her dream was slightly out of reach and that she felt isolated by perceived failure speaks to being a millennial in today's society and will resonate with anyone who has experienced impostor syndrome. This book also features a great romance between Booker and Rosie, as well as a very avuncular relationship between her and Arthur, which, although not the focus, adds depth to Rosie's journey. Not only is this a story that will allow you to "feel big feelings," Courtney Walsh's prose will make you think in the most gentle way. The audio is masterfully done, and I appreciated the nuances in the narrator's performance that brought the characters to life.
Thank you to NetGalley for the copy of the audiobook in exchange for my review.

When your career trajectory isn't what you expect and you end up home and compare yourself to your friends, it's not a good feeling.
Rosie is back home and just isn't making it big on broadway. She accepted a job to be the director for Cinderella, she thought this was her big break. She was surprised to find that this was not a typical theater but one in a retirement community.
I love books where there are elderlies and they form a friendship. The found family and the growth of Rosie was so perfect.
Though there is a romantic aspect to the story, it does take a back seat. This book focuses on life and how it may not go as you plan but it can still make you happy.
Jorjeana Marie did a great job on the narration.
Thank you @thomasnelson @netgalley for a copy of the audiobook.
