Rosie loses her job and apartment in the same day. She goes home for a baby shower and realizes that her friends have become adults while she is still a struggling actor. She lies to her friends and mother about what is going on in her life. She decides to move back home when she gets a job offer as a regional director’s production of Cinderella. She has no other options so she takes the job. She doesn’t realize it is at a retirement home. When she arrives she meets Booker, he is the resident handyman. She notices everyone around her is old. She learns that she is at a retirement community. She is in the verge of leaving because she doesn’t know how to put on a production of Cinderella with old people. She eventually decides to stay.

This was my first book by Courtney Walsh. I really enjoyed the writing style and I loved the side characters.. I thought the narrator, Jorjeana Marie was the perfect choice for Rosie.i thought the story was sweet and funny. I loved the banter between Rosie and Booker. my favorite character was Authur, the resident curmudgeon, who we eventually learn is a sweetheart.
She finds out he was a theatre teacher and was a director on some professional shows. She helps him get back to the theatre and helps him find a second chance at love. In turn, he helps her with the play and he helps her find a professional acting job.
I really loved how Rosie was able to make Dylan come to life. She was closed off and unhappy. Rosie invited her to join the production and slowly she comes to life and becomes a vital part of the production. She also learns what she wants to do in life.

I also really loved Booker. They start out as friends and as they spend time together their relationship grows. I loved how he continued to pursue her even though she wasn’t planning on staying after the play was finished. I loved the relationship he had with his grandmother.

I feel like the ending but but I would have been just as happy if she decided that she was done trying to be a professional actor and wanted to remain at the retirement home.

“Sometimes dreams shift and change and grow, and changing along with them isn’t failing. Pivoting isn’t quitting. Happiness isn’t linear, and seeking it isn’t selfish.”

I absolutely love everything about Courtney Walsh and her books. I found myself laughing out loud at the banter between the characters and some of their unusual situations. Perfect low spice romance with just the right amount of humor and life lessons.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this audio ARC.

This is a feel good piece of women’s fiction with romantic elements. It is heartwarming, and funny. It is about a journey on self discovery. It’s about following your dreams, and if needed about finding a new dream.

This story drew me in right from the beginning. Reading about how Rosie grows throughout this book both personally and mindset wise was amazing. She starts out believing she is a failure, telling half-truths to her friends in hopes that they will not find out the truth before achieving her dream one day. When she finds herself working at a retirement village, she is eventually able to put her doubts aside to give the community and people her all.

The narrator, Jorjeana Marie, did a fantastic job with bringing Rosie and the rest of the retirement community to life.

This is the first I’ve had the pleasure of reading from this author and I thoroughly enjoyed this little rom-com. It was really sweet and cozy and just what was needed.

Rosie is a loveable character with a lot of humour and personality written in to the story even although it began with her sort of starting off down in her luck things begin to turn out for her when she simply embraces what she has in front of her. Rosie is in theatre and it wasn’t quite her dream job to be working as a director of Cinderella for senior citizens she envisaged herself on broadway but that isn’t quite what life had in store for her.

She meets Booker when she is back in her hometown and this is another curveball she didn’t see nor wish for before she knows what’s happening she is falling into old familiar ways with him. Is it because it’s all just so easy or is it something to be explored?

A wonderfully narrated easy listen from start to finish all characters are brought to life and just a beautiful audiobook to really relax with.

Title: Everything's Coming Up Rosie
Author: Courtney Walsh
Narrator: Jorjeana Marie

**Audio Review:**

Overall, the audiobook was charming, but it ultimately fell short in terms of depth and emotional engagement. The romance between Rosie and Booker felt tepid; their chemistry was minimal, leaving me feeling indifferent to their relationship. I found Rosie’s behaviour to be surprisingly immature, which detracted from my enjoyment of the story. As a result, much of the dialogue seemed disjointed or forced, lacking the natural flow needed to draw me in.

The premise sets Rosie Waterman in an unexpected role, where she finds herself directing a play for a lively group of elderly residents at a retirement community. This unique setup had the potential for heartwarming moments and insightful connections, but unfortunately, I struggled to connect with both the characters and the overarching narrative. Consequently, I couldn't fully immerse myself in the experience.

This charming summer romance swept me off my feet like a well-timed swing dance! 💃🏼🕺

Set against the surprisingly delightful backdrop of a senior living community, this story is full of heart, humor, and a whole lot of self-discovery. I loved that it was an accident that completely changed Rosie’s life — such a fun and unexpected twist! 🙌

With a single point of view and a heavy dash of musical theater magic, Rosie’s journey of reconnecting with herself and her career dreams was so relatable. Add in a swoony, adorable love story and strong friendships, and I was hooked. 🎶💕

🎧 The audiobook is narrated by Jorjeana Marie, who did a fantastic job. Her youthful, energetic voice perfectly matched the vibe and brought Rosie’s world to life.

If you’re into sunshiney romance, a little Broadway flair, and stories that celebrate second chances (with a side of tap shoes), this one’s for you! 🌹🎤

Listening or reading Courtney’s books are like a cozy warm hug. You know the characters are going to have some flaws but always have wonderful backstories and big hearts. The main character Rosie has big dreams but feels that she is failing when she isn’t reaching those goals. Her life changes when she mass applies to acting jobs and gets one! But…she didn’t read what the position is. After some research she learns she will be part of a creative team for a theater group in Wisconsin… and she is shocked to learn that the theater group is a retirement community. Following Rosie and the residents of the community throughout the book is so fun. It made me miss my grandparents, and maybe also move into this community (they have pickleball!) Jorjeana Marie was a wonderful narrator!

Another hit from Courtney Walsh! This was a really sweet book. Struggling theater actress takes a mystery job in a new community. Hijinks ensue and she finds love. What's not to like?
One thing I love about Courtney's books are the emphasis on the side characters. I feel like I was able get to know and love the whole community.
The other thing I love about this author is that the conflict isn't usually from the romance. No miscommunication trope here! The romance isn't the driving force behind the plot (which I think is a good thing) but it's still oh so sweet and swoony.
The audiobook was fantastic. The narrator fit the voice of the main character perfectly.
Content: Romance is kisses only. No swearing.
Overall if you like sweet romance, women's fiction, theater, and friends across generations, I highly recommend this!

I have read several books by Courtney Walsh and I think this one may be my new favorite! I fell in love with the story right from the start and didn’t want to stop reading or listening (I did this book as a mix of audio and kindle).

This story focuses on Rosie and her summer working as a director of a show for senior citizens- a piece of the job that she didn’t realize was a thing until she arrived. Once there she finds a loving community of adorable characters, including the charming Booker who is the physical therapist in the community. This story was adorable and really showed how it’s ok to work out of your comfort zone. The narrator for the audio did such a great job differentiating her voice between characters that it made it so easy to follow the different characters.

I absolutely loved everything about this story! The setting was surprising and quirky and the characters were so easy to fall in love with. I adored the growth that Rosie and Arthur had in their friendship.

4.5 stars
This is a fun, entertaining, good story. I love Rosie’s growth from the start of the story to the end. The secondary characters are quirky and add so much to the story. They all brought something to the plot and Rosie that makes this story that much more special. The romance is sweet, tender, loving, special and a big part of what I enjoyed about this book. The ending was perfect for Booker and Rosie. The story’s message is powerful and a good reminder. The story is easy to read and get into.

I enjoyed the audio version of the book and the narrator.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to listen to the audiobook of Everything’s Coming Up Rosie in exchange for my honest review.

This story follows Rosie, a struggling actress from New York who, after a series of unexpected twists, ends up directing a play for a group of senior citizens in small-town Wisconsin. The setup is delightfully quirky, and the book delivers a lot of heart, a lovable cast of characters, and a swoony love interest in Booker.

If you love Broadway and romance, this book will feel like it was written just for you. I certainly felt that way. It hits all the feel-good notes of a cozy rom-com while celebrating creativity, second chances, and community.

I’m giving it 3 ½ stars, which for me means I liked it but didn’t quite love it. The pacing felt a bit slow in places, especially toward the end, and I found myself wanting to get to the resolution a little faster.

Still, this is a sweet and solid read that I’d recommend to anyone looking for a light-hearted, uplifting story—perfect for a weekend escape or a relaxing day at the beach.

Life doesn’t always go as expected. It’s hard, it’s messy but it’s also beautiful, and just the way it’s meant to be. Now it’s time to face the music and head home, but when she gets there all of her friends seemed to be thriving. So there was no way she could confide in them that her dream failed.

Then an offer letter came through her email for a summer role. It offered a god salary, onsite lodging with food, and started immediately. So she instantly said yes not realizing what she signed up for….

This book was such a heartfelt, feel-good surprise. I absolutely loved it. Rosie was the kind of character you instantly want to root for: strong, a little lost, but full of heart. Her journey felt so genuine, and her lifelong group of friends added so much warmth and support to the story.

And can we talk about Booker? I loved his character, he brought such depth and sincerity to the story. His moments with Rosie were some of my absolute favorites.

I also adored the retirement community setting! The seniors were such a vibrant and lovable cast full of charm, wisdom, and just the right touch of sass. Their presence made the book feel like a cozy hug.

The ending wasn’t what I expected, but it summed everything up so beautifully and left me with a full heart.

If you’re in the mood for something uplifting, character-driven, and full of heart, this one’s a must-read.

This book was super cute and the audiobook for it was well done. I loved this book for a lot of reasons. The first was just how funny the whole premise was. But another reason was for the very well written storyline of self-discovery here.

I loved the whole message that it's okay if your dreams change shape. Sometimes, you just have to change your definition of what your goals are to make yourself truly happy, and stop yourself from chasing something that isn't meant for you.

I loved the setting of the retirement community here and I loved the /community/ aspect in this book as well. I think that the author was really able to communicate a lot of different lessons throughout this book in a perfect "show, not tell" way.

I loved this book.

Rosie is down on her luck. She's having a tough time making it as an actress. She's auditioned over and over, and she gets only small parts, or parts in shows that close quickly, like the last major role she had. She's behind in her rent - in a place where she has no friends, only roommates. Rosie has wonderful friends from her earlier years and she is happy to have a get together with them, but they are all "making it." She is considering moving back to her partially-estranged mother's. That's when an offer comes in to be a creative director at a regional theater. Only it's not really what she was hoping it would be once she gets there.

The book changes tone several times. At first, Rosie feels desperation and perhaps envy. Then she's elated to have a job, stunned when she learns what it is. But this part of the book is so funny, I was laughing out loud and giggling to myself. Then she starts to dig deep and she exudes confidence, building up her team, even if she's not exactly feeling it herself. Struggles, disaster, and the beginning of love. But is this what she really, really wants for herself? She questions her motivation and her goals, ultimately making the decision that is right for herself.

I so enjoyed this book. I had both the e-book and the audio. The narrator was perfect for this book. Her emotions were spot on. Be sure to read the author's note. It's an interesting look into her background, some of which is part of Rosie.

This was a cute and simple story. It felt like a love letter to the theater community, which as a big Broadway fan - I enjoyed.

I almost DNFed this book at the very beginning due to the narrator and the slow start. But I got sucked into the storyline and I’m glad I stuck it out. It was a cute, closed door romance that showed us Rosie self journey to acceptance and reimagining her dreams.

Thank you Netgalley for the ALC in exchange for my honest review.

Courtney Walsh did it again! She is an automatic read for me, and this did not disappoint. The rom-com was so fun to read, and doesn’t have the spice that most do…so it’s great for pretty much anyone. This is a wholesome story of overcoming your fears / challenges, working hard for things, and self-discovery, especially when faced with unexpected challenges.

Most Likely to Bring Out The Inner Theater Kid

This one spoke to the long, lost theater kid in me. This is Rosie's story about comically ending up somewhere she didn't mean to be, but finding herself, and also love while there.
What I loved:
- He falls first (gets me every time)
- Relationship building between Rosie and the minor characters (Specifically Arthur and her friends)
- Quirky side characters
- Rosie's journey from self doubt to confidence
- A FMC who did not give up on her dream for a man
- A great Narrator (I listened to this one)

What I didn't love as much:
- How Rosie hid so much from her family and friends that truly were so supportive
- Belinda being such a mean girl (she was too old to be acting that way)
- Single POV (Just a personal preference, I love a dual POV)

Thank you to Net Galley, Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Audio, and Courtney Walsh for an ALC of this story.
