Everything’s Coming Up Rosie by Courtney Walsh is an absolutely delightful women’s fiction romance! Courtney is a favorite author of mine because she writes such believable characters that feel so real to me. They are dealing with life and all that goes along with that, and I find I learn something along the way to apply to my own life. She also writes incredible romantic leading men and manages to create the perfect amount of tension and swoon worthiness while keeping it totally chaste!
.
In Rosie’s story we find a lady who is failing in her attempt to find her dreams as an actress in NYC, and not being honest with her true friends about her realities. She takes a summer theatre job in Door County, Wisconsin, a job that she really didn’t read the description for because it paid well and it was a theatre. The surprise reality makes for a great read! There were so many characters to love and so much wisdom to be gained. I loved the way this story unfolded and I loved watching Rosie grow as a person. The ending was everything I could have wanted!
.
The narration by Jorjeana Marie was perfect! Her reading was so fun and she made the characters come to life! I read this in both the audio and physical and really enjoyed the tandem experience!
.
I recommend this for romance lovers yes, but even if you are not particularly into romance yet you love a good women’s fiction about a woman coming into her own. This would be a great vacation read or lazy summer day read. Although it can be read anytime of year!
.
Thanks @NetGalley and @ThomasNelsonFiction and @ZondervanFictionAudio for the ARC and the ALC that I received in exchange for my unbiased review.

I'm officially OBSESSED with all the characters in this book, and immediately researching open jobs at retirement homes near me.
The absolute sweetest, most heartwarming book!
@courtneywalsh is the QUEEN of romance without the spice, so it's suitable for readers of all ages, and this one spoke to a wider audience by roping in the *slightly older* crowd as well.
An absolute hug to your heart that l highly recommend you check out. I listened to the audiobook and the narration was so good!

This was a cute story about an aspiring actress named Rosie who found her dreams while working at a senior Community Resort. The book was full of humorous Rosie moments, fun and flirty banter between Rosie and Booker, and wonderful characters. It had a more serious undertone than Courtney’s other books, but it ended on a happy note🎵 - pun intended! I loved watching Rosie’s character develop throughout the story. I also loved seeing Rosie bring out Arthur’s soft side.
I was also able to listen to the audiobook ⭐️⭐️⭐️ narrated by Jorjeana Marie. She had a great reading voice but struggled a bit with distinguishing voices between the different characters.
Thank you NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for the ARCs in exchange for my honest opinion. A big thank you to Zondervan Fiction Audio for the audiobook!

Thank you so much to Thomas Nelson for the gifted book!

I always know Courtney's books will be sure to put me in a good mood! This one was especially sweet and fun, though!
Rosie Waterman's dreams of becoming an actress continue to be squashed as one thing falls apart in her life after another. While her friends are off doing wild and exciting things, Rosie is stuck in Wisconsin (LOL). As a Wisconsinite who loves her state, I thought that the whole concept of her being "stuck" in Door County, WI working a job for a retirement home theater was hilarious. Personally, living in Door County sounds like a dream, but I get it, I get it!
I love stories based around retirement homes and I love books based in Wisconsin, so this was right up my alley! I thought the senior citizens were totally entertaining and it was a joy watching Rosie learn so much about herself and grow so much during her time with them.
I think this was a perfect blend between women's fiction and romance. The romance aspect was organic and blended in so well with the rest of story!
If you love sweet and tender romances, books revolving around senior citizens, theater vibes, themes of resilience and following your dreams, this one is for you!
Jorjeana Marie did a wonderful job narrating and her voice totally fit the fun and upbeat vibes!

2.5 stars [Meh]
Sadly this was a flop for me. I enjoyed this author’s previous books and while this book was cute, it was also kind of boring. Luckily the narration of the audiobook was well done and kept me going but overall, this book was just not for me.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing a free advanced copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Everything's Coming Up Rosie begins as a fairly typical drama—Rosie, a struggling actress, can’t land a job to keep herself afloat. A trip back home, where she’s confronted by the success of her old friends, pushes her to make a drastic decision: accept a job she hasn’t researched at all.
What follows is a series of hilarious antics and heartfelt moments, led by Rosie’s theatrical personality. The job she stumbles into might just be exactly what she needed. The story shines not only because of Rosie’s charm, but also due to a lovable supporting cast and genuine personal development throughout. It’s the kind of ensemble any story would be lucky to have.
I especially enjoyed watching Rosie grow—she faces hard truths and learns tough lessons, all of which help shape her into a relatable, likable protagonist.
While I did notice a few audio issues—some segments sounded like they were added or re-recorded later—it didn’t take away much from the overall experience. The narrator delivered a strong, engaging performance that really brought the story to life.

This was cute! I honestly hated the end until I read the authors note then I liked it more. 🤣 It had a great cast of characters and the audio narrator was great!

Thank you to @netgalley, @thomasnelson, and @zondervan for the ebook and ALC of Everything’s Coming Up Rosie by Courtney Walsh; all opinions are my own.
Sometimes I need a shot of sunshine in a book, and that’s what I received with Everything’s Coming Up Rosie. Rosie is not thriving as an actor in New York and accepts the first job she is offered without reading the fine (or bold) print.
“I don’t believe in accidents. So if you’re here, then you’re here for a reason. And I’m betting there is something here for you too.” There is so much there for her!
This book has so many characters and relationships, including my favorite- the spunky elderly! Everyone has a story. Rosie and Booker have the cutest, most fun conversations, and this contains the third act of my dreams. I had chills at one point!
In the “About the Author” of her books, it mentions that Walsh owns a performing arts studio and youth theatre. I’ve been waiting for this to play a prominent role in one of her books. While reading, I didn’t feel like anything was researched, it was KNOWN.
Narrator Jorjeana Marie is a favorite of mine. In her first line her voice says so much through sound alone- this character is youthful, friendly, fun and maybe a bit naïve. I’ve heard her in many books (Practice Makes Perfect, Kiss the Girl, Walsh’s My Phony Valentine) and I hope I hear more from her!
Publishing June 10, 2025, today! I recommend!
Booker may consider giving it 2/10 stars but I give it 5/5 stars!

Happy Publication Day to one of my favorite authors, @courtneywalsh! Courtney's new book, "Everything's Coming Up Rosie," is the perfect read to add to your summer reading list!
In a world full of cynicism, "Everything's Coming Up Rosie" is like being handed a freshly picked bouquet of wildflowers—it renews a hopeful perspective about life and the people we (sometimes reluctantly) share it with. I loved everything from the lovable cast of quirky characters to the swoony romance to the plot twist at the end.
But what I loved most is the message of the book—it's all about connection and seeing things in others that they can't see for themselves. And it's about giving yourself permission to grow. That's what makes Courtney's books stand out in the crowd of rom-coms—she always brings out a deeper meaning in the story with so many applicable takeaways, which is a rare find in today's fiction world.
Here are the spoiler free details: Rosie Waterman has one dream: to become a working actor. But when she loses her apartment and her job in New York on the same day, she does what she always does—puts herself out there, ready to find the next big thing. When she's offered a job as the director of a regional theatre's production of Cinderella, she jumps at the chance—even though the job is in Door County, Wisconsin, and not in New York. She has no other offers, and at least she'll be getting paid to do something theatrical. But when she arrives, she quickly realizes that the "regional theatre" is actually in a retirement community, and the "actors" are actually senior citizens with no acting experience whatsoever.
I loved getting this glimpse into Courtney's connection to the theatre—in real life, she and her husband co-own a performing arts studio and youth theatre, where she also writes and directs plays. While reading the book, it was obvious that she has a deep love for the stage and has experienced some of the same things that her MC, Rosie, has experienced! Thanks to @netgalley, @thomasnelson and Zondervan Fiction Audio for the advance audiobook copy read by Jorjeana Marie, who did a great job conveying the voices and emotions of the characters.
My favorite quote from the book: "Sometimes dreams shift and change and grow, and changing along with them isn't failing. Pivoting isn't quitting. Happiness isn't linear, and seeking it isn't selfish." Wow! Can I get an "Amen"?

I loved this book and the audio fit Rosie so well! Rosie was so relatable and I really enjoyed the many side characters throughout. A beautiful story full of sadness, joy, laughter, and of course some swoon!

🎧Audiobook Review : Everything’s Coming Up Rosie by Courtney Walsh 🩷
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I loved this audiobook so much! Thank you Courtney Walsh, thomasnelson and zondervan!
I absolutely loved this newest release! Courtney is one of my favorite authors and this book was no different.
This was a love letter to the theater and to chasing your dreams, whatever that journey may look like. Courtney always has a way of making you feel like the story relates to you, even if like me, you’ve never been apart of theater. The story reminds us that, “maybe I just need to do what I love with people I love…dreams shift and change. They grow and evolve.” 😮💨😮💨
And that, truth be told is not only true but absolutely relatable!
The story also has a totally swoon worthy guy and some absolutely hilarious and heartwarming side characters. An absolute feel good read!

This was such a good book!
I loved Rosie’s arch and character development. Seeing her go after her dreams was inspiring, even if they looked a little different than she thought.
I loved the cast of characters—the retirement home tie-in was so fun!
Booker is such a dream: I really enjoyed his patience and thoughtfulness, especially with Rosie.
I loved the Cinderella aspect and all the high jinxes that ensued.
Overall, a funny, fun read!

I will read anything Courtney Walsh writes. I was so lucky to get an ALC of her newest book. It is such a cute, quick, light hearted book. We all put up our best and can get lost thinking everyone else’s lives are perfect so we can’t be honest about ours. This book follows an insecure and vulnerable Rosie on an unexpected journey to find her true self and life. I loved the audiobook and go get your copy it’s out today!
Thank you @netgalley @thomasnelson and @zondervan

This delightful book comes out tomorrow! Rosie’s life didn’t pan out as she would’ve hoped and she has to get a new job and is desperate and just applied anywhere, accepting a job without reading the full details.
I loved this turn of events for Rosie and the new community she is surrounded by. This had great growth and found family, last chance high stakes, and women’s fiction with a touch of sweet clean romance. I loved Arthur and his eventual softening to Rosie. Booker and Rosie had instalove which isn’t always a fan favorite but with forced proximity and the age gap between the retirement community and Rosie and Booker, it makes sense that they’re one of the few young people there.
Loved the narrator, thanks Net Galley and Thomas Nelson for the alc. These are my own thoughts and opinions.

As usual I can count on Walsh to provide a fun, light-hearted, hopeful romance with interesting, albeit flawed, characters. Rosie discovers (finally) more about her true self and desires in this tale set against the backdrop of a theater job with some unexpected helpers and participants. I like that I know what to expect with a Walsh book...clean with a happy ending.
The narration for this book was well-done and easy to follow as well. Recommended for anyone looking for a happy, but not dumbed-down read.
Thanks to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for this ARC. All opinions are mine.

In Everything’s Coming Up Rosie, Rosie is an actor living in NYC who lost both her job and her apartment in the same day. She goes home, puts on a brave face for her friends, and applies to any job even remotely related to her profession. When she’s offered a director role for a regional theater’s production of Cinderella, she literally jumps at the chance, moving to Wisconsin without asking any other questions. Only after she arrives does she realize that the production is taking place at a retirement community with a cast and crew of senior citizens. (Not *exactly* what she had in mind.)
This was such a sweet, fun read! And I really enjoyed the audio narration, too. Walsh has such a gift for creating a place and cast of characters that really immerse you in the story. I really love musical theater, so I was very happy to feel like I was a part of this production family! I adored Rosie and thought the way she overcame her own self-doubt was so inspiring to read. She learned that dreams can change and that reimagining them doesn’t mean you gave up. I think that’s such an important message and one that I definitely needed to read.
This is the perfect fun, lighthearted read for summer. And it even has a splash of romance mixed in! I really enjoyed it.

I don’t know how she does it, but Courtney Walsh continues to write comforting, joyful reads that just make me happy! Rosie, of course, is no exception!!!
I cracked up when Rosie realized she had taken a job directing a musical for elderly, retirement community residents! And they were the best! Booker was such a great love interest, supportive, kind - a dream! I really found myself craving more of their love story. I especially loved watching Rosie’s journey to figure out what she wants and open up to her loved ones - she didn’t take the easy path in the end and I just loved how everything wrapped up!!!
🎧I was lucky enough to have the physical book and audio, so I flew through this one! It was truly the best feel-good binge!!!

The narrator was amazing and I have added a new one to my list. She did all of the characters justice . I Loved it! She truly conveyed the emotions and voices so well! She made this book so delightful and easy to listen to.
“Because if I only get you for the summer, I want to be fully present for all of it.”
This book was phenomenal! In true Courtney fashion, she dives into a story that is relatable, heartfelt and full of laughs. Rosie’s faking her way through life, until she takes a new job producing Cinderella. Booker is happy as a PT and living near his grandma. He loves the community he lives in and the people, but is instantly intrigued by Rosie.
“And for the record there's nothing casual about the way I feel about you Rosie.”
There are so many fun surprises, (I really won’t ruin it) but you can’t go wrong with Courtney’s books. There are many self discoveries, growth, rebranding and changing course for characters in this book and I loved it. It was touching and meaningful to me in a way that I needed, while still making me laugh until I cried. It was an inspiring journey that ends the way it should, even if not all readers agree. I love that about Courtney’s books. She doesn’t just write them all with easy HEA, there is always something to learn. I adored all the side characters so much!
“Sometimes dreams shift and change and grow, and changing along with them isn’t failing. Pivoting isn’t quitting. Happiness isn’t linear, and seeking it isn’t selfish.”
Thoughts:
Meet Cute…ah he’s so nice
Tampon List-LOL
It’s a Cult…how did she not figure it out yet?
Newsies-Seize the Day girl, the theater is amazing!
Arthur and Birdie are the best humans and polar opposites
The feeling of being honest.
Truth and a Truth Fridays
Dylan-she’s a goth teen who is hiding something.
NO…not water…why?!?
Dylan is the best…I love her!
Follow your dreams, but don’t leave!!
Learning to believe in yourself.
All the theater references!
“It’s you Rosie, you’re the new dream.”

A fun sweet rom com. Rosie's life is not going according to her plans. Feeling a little lost, she ends up with a new career chance, but has no idea that it is at a retirement community. The setting is a perfect location for this rom-com. There are so many laugh out loud moments. With each one Rosie starts to learn a little more about herself and what "success" really means. The story is full of fun and sweet moments. Everything worked for this story. Rosie is a fun and likeable mess. The narration was great and captured all the moments perfectly. I received an advance copy from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.

When Rosie takes a job as the theater director for a retirement community, she never thinks it just might change her life.
This is a book that references Broadway shows like Funny Girl and Newsies and Chicago and also makes reference to the nuances of Seinfeld.
Based on that alone, I knew I would love this one.
And I definitely did! It was so much fun, and I think Rosie and I would have been fast friends. Her big heart and her constant scrapes made brought to life the most endearing character you couldn’t help but love.
This was a great audiobook, and the narration perfectly brought to life Courtney Walsh’s heartwarming writing. I also loved that this story had a precious low-spice love story; I couldn’t help but love that Booker Hayes!
Perhaps my very favorite aspect was the sweet relationship between Dylan and Rosie. Such a wonderful reminder of the power of intentional interactions and truly seeing those around you.
This book was as much fun as a night at the theater, and my last question is this: can I go ahead and reserve my spot at Sunset Hills? It sounds like an amazing place to spend your golden years.
Are you a Broadway fan? If so, what is your favorite musical?
