Thank you to NetGalley for the e ARC!
Although this was a great thriller, for me I wish I would have been able to listen to the audiobook vs. the eARC. The format of the book (interviews, article comments, vlog comments, texts, etc) was very hard to follow for me. I may do a re-read with the audiobook to see if that makes a difference in my experience!

This was great for a debut novel! The twists and turns kept me intrigued through the whole book. It would be fun to see a sequel to see if anything more unravels. But it's also great with it's standalone vibe.

This book took me a bit of time to get into but overall I really enjoyed it. The end wrapped up too quickly and neatly, I would have loved to see that part fleshed out and drawn out a bit more. Overall enjoyable read.

Thank you NetGalley & Head of Zeus for this ARC!!
This has everything I love in a mystery/thriller! We follow journalist Naomi Barns as she investigates the Harlow Hayes story. She travels for work from LA to New York to find out if Harlow Hayes is a victim or a murderer. I sat down and finished this book in 4 hours! I love love the plot twist and true me when I say: the tea is piping hot!! I can’t wait for Kelly & Kristina’s next book! 5 stars ✨ for me!!

Great, fast paced thriller, debut by the Mancaruso sisters.
Harlow Hayes is the pop icon. Everyone watches her and gossips about her life. Even more when she's arrested for not one but two murders.
Naomi Barnes fled New York City after her sister horrifically died to LA. She's a successful gossip reporter and the story of the century is handed to her, Harlow Hayes. She takes the next flight to New York and while investigating Harlow, she is haunted by her sister and all of the memories they crafted together in the city.
Told like a fast paced true crime story, hold on fast for a wild ride. I enjoyed all of the pop culture references, easter eggs and mixed use of headlines and social media.

3/5⭐️
I was really drawn to the pretense of this story and this unique idea. Unfortunately the execution left some things to be desired.
From the beginning, there are almost too many details and things going on to be able to keep track of everything. The pacing is quite slow and it takes a good chunk of the book before you start to feel some suspense.
I feel like this could have been shorter and more suspenseful. Describing this as a thriller feels generous. It feels more like a detective mystery. While I’m glad Naomi got the answers that she did, the ending left things to be desired.
I did like the use of social media and articles to advance the story telling. This helped provide alternative perspectives and flush out the story a little bit more and add to the plot.

4.25/5
This book was highly entertaining! Naomi, a celebrity journalist, is investigating popstar Harlow Hayes on her supposed involvement in several murders, leading back to Naomi's sister's killing.
Now, there was A LOT going on in this book, and not all of it made total sense, but I thoroughly enjoyed it nonetheless. The twists and turns of the story were compelling, and I never quite knew what was going to happen next!
The main character is unhinged (rightfully so honestly) which makes the adventure all the more exciting. I also really enjoyed the incorporation of easter eggs/clues for the readers to put the pieces of the mystery together.
Overall, a fun mystery/thriller that goes by incredibly quickly; a fun read!
Thank you netgalley for the arc :)

For Taylor Swift fans who have ever wondered "what if our pop princess was accused of murder?" - this book is your dark fantasy made fiction.
Rumoured by The Mancaruso Sisters opens with pop megastar Harlow Hayes being arrested for the murder of her volatile movie star boyfriend and connected to the years-old overdose death of young hopeful Jade. What could have been a straightforward celebrity scandal thriller becomes something more complex when investigative journalist Naomi Barnes takes on the case and discovers troubling parallels between Harlow's world and her own sister's unexplained death.
The authors cleverly invite readers to play detective by planting clues throughout the text, making it an interactive reading experience. However, what disappointed me was Harlow's absence as a voice in the narrative until halfway through the book. Before reaching that point, the story reads like Naomi spiraling deeper into increasingly far-fetched conspiracy theories, which I found off-putting rather than intriguing - though other readers may enjoy this investigative spiral. The authors do a decent job creating the pop star world's darkness, and I particularly appreciated the obsessive fan voices depicted through social media chats and Twitter - including genuinely unsettling death threats directed at Naomi that felt disturbingly real.
While the premise should appeal to readers who love celebrity culture mysteries, the lack of Harlow's voice for the first half may disappoint those hoping for deeper insight into the pop star's world. If you've ever fallen down a rabbit hole analyzing your favorite artist's lyrics for hidden meanings, you'll appreciate how the authors weave Harlow's music into the larger mystery.
A solid pick for fans of psychological thrillers with a pop culture twist.
Thank you Aria & Aries and NetGalley for the eARC in exhchange for my honest review.

I had so much fun reading this book. Excellent example of a found footage “true crime” story, weaving in articles and social media posts. I read a lot of white lady thrillers, so, yes, I figured out quite a bit ahead of time, but that didn’t inhibit my enjoyment. This is the kind of fun and fluffy mystery with lots of hidden clues that makes me wish I were a writer.

Thank you NetGalley and Head of Zeus for the ARC!
I can’t remember the last time i read a book so quickly — I mean over a handful of hours over two days. I could not bring myself to put this addicting debut from the Mancaruso sisters down. I found myself opened mouthed at several points in the story as details came to life and I can’t wait to recommend it to everyone!

4 stars! When pop superstar singer Harlow Hayes is taken into police custody on suspicion of murder her fans are left baffled! Everyone begins to look into her lyrics for clues and looking for any changes in her music.
Entertain reporter, Naomi, is still grieving the loss of her sister when she’s asked to investigate the Harlow Hayes story. She goes back to her old stomping group of NYC and tracks down her old friends in the entertainment industry for some insider info on Harlow. She quickly discovers there are multiple murders Hayes could be linked too.
This is a super fun mixed media thriller. The story is told from a mix of Naomi’s point of view as well as news articles, social media posts and interviews. If you love a good internet rabbit hole you’ll love this book!
Thank you to NetGalley for this free digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

The levels to this plot are absolutely unmatched. Just when you think you’ve pieced everything together, the story yanks you in another direction, making you realize you were never even close to the truth. Naomi, a reporter from LA, is tasked with covering the arrest of a celebrity accused of double murder. What seems like a straightforward case quickly spirals into something darker, more intricate, and far more dangerous. As Naomi digs deeper, her investigation begins to hint at the chilling possibility of a serial killer at large… unless, of course, the threads she’s following are only in her head.
Haunted by the ghost of her sister and burdened by a past that refuses to let go, Naomi is pulled into a web of secrets, lies, and buried truths. Each step forward takes her further from safety and deeper into a reality that may shatter her entirely. The twists are relentless, the tension is razor-sharp, and the emotional stakes are sky-high. This is an absolute masterpiece of a mystery—brilliantly layered, expertly paced, and sure to keep even the most seasoned thriller reader guessing until the very end. I can’t recommend it enough to anyone who loves their stories twisty, dark, and impossible to put down.

This was very very different from the mysteries I usually go for, like a celebrity centred mystery seems so fun and weirdly light. Also, the fact that the authors are sisters is genuinely the number 1 reason I was like yes, let me read this. Crafting something with your soul twin (i.e. your sister) guarantees a passion project of not a good one.
Unfortunately, despite the interesting premise, it just felt little flat. It was hard to connect with or care about the characters. The only thing that kept me going was to figure out the ending. I’m not the type of person to over-analyze song lyrics or be immersed in celebrity culture, so that was also a good different. Anyways, glad I gave it a go.

I had a lot of trouble getting into this book. I'd pick it up, be bored and put it down again. I think i was bored beyond the premise, which is about a popular singer (think Taylor Swift) who goes down for murder. Ok, that's interesting, in theory, but it just wasn't. There were way too many songs lyrics, tabloid articles & uninteresting filler to be a good story. I don't even know who she supposedly killed & I didnt care. I DNF'd this boring book.
Thank you to Netgalley for an ARC version of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

Rumored is a celebrity focused thriller
The story was interesting to follow, it took a good bit of time to really pick up and would say that didn’t happen until about 75% in.
I enjoyed getting the multiple POVs, it helped to provide context and create intrigue. While I normally enjoy the inclusion of articles and other media in a book, the formatting of the articles in this book were off putting. I am hopeful this would be resolved before release, and it was just a little off because it being an advanced copy.
I enjoyed following along with Naomi as she unraveled the case about Harlow Hayes being accused of murder. It was fun to see the Easter eggs included throughout the novel. I would recommend this book for someone who likes to know all the tea about celebrity scandals. Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this novel.

Rumored is a celebrity focused thriller debut novel. I enjoyed this book as a lifelong fan of mystery novels. The story was interesting to follow, it took a good bit of time to really pick up. I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The story is engaging and full of witty banter, with well-developed characters that kept me hooked from start to finish. The blend of romance, humor, and heartfelt moments made for a really fun read. I would recommend to fans of contemporary fiction looking for a fun and emotionally satisfying story. Can't wait to see what they write next!

I was drawn to the cover and enticed by the promise of celebrity gossip.
Harlow Hayes is a famous pop star and finds herself accused of murder. Naomi is a journalist and dives in to find the truth. It's twisty and Naomi finds more personal truths than she bargained for. Rumoured is a fun take on a suspenseful mystery. I loved the lyrics throughout and a shout out to Taylor Swift.
A solid 4 stars. Thanks to NetGalley and Head of Zeus for an early copy.

An intriguing concept but stylistically, it did not work for me. The insertion of social media posts, and articles broke the flow of the story up too much to stay invested. Overall, it did not seem relatable or believable. A solid debut with great potential, even if it didn’t fully land for me.
Thank you NetGalley and Bloomsbury USA, Head of Zeus - an Aries Book for an eARC of this book.

This is one of my favourites of the summer!
Mystery - Murder - Celebrities
Yes please! 😍🤤
When Hollywood music darling is arrested for murder and they don’t announce who she is accused of killing the internet and tabloids go wild. When it comes out that she’s accused of killing her hollywood heartthrob action star ex, fans divide and tinsel town is shocked.
I ATE THIS UP
There are Easter eggs abound in this and I kept picturing what would happen if Taylor Swift murdered like Henry Cavill or someone and then wrote an album about it with clues that not all was as it seemed.
This was so much fun. If you enjoy anything celebrity or Hollywood pop this to the top of your TBR.
Undying gratitude to NetGalley for the arc! 💗
