To start off I would like to say that this book was a great read and that the story itself was interesting. Awake is a YA thriller and the first book I have read by Natasha Preston.I was really excited to read this book but it didn’t really match what I thought it would have been.The story is set in England, but answers to Scarlett’s background are found in Ireland.
the great thing about this story is that it was very easy to read, and it had enough mystery to it that it kept my attention, but I feel like it lacked depth and was too basic is some way. This book could use a bit more in depth conversation, action and excitement. Overall the storyline was decent.
The epilogue at the end of the book does leave hints that there might be another book in the making, but I don’t know for sure. I would recommend this to anyone who likes YA mystery/thriller.

I must say, I haven't read very many thrillers in my life, but by no means does that make me any less willing to say this was a good one. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time and I'm pretty sure Natasha Preston owes me a manicure because I definitely have no nails left! A fantastic and unique story.

it wasn't as enticing as i hope it'd be but it did sort of make for an entertaining read.

Not exactly sure how I feel about this one. The storyline was fascinating, a cult that will do anything to get their sacrificial victim back. Noah was a great character, I felt he had wonderful morals under misguided teachings. Scarlett was a mess, seeming to have bad taste in friends and having an immediate need to find the missing four years of her life makes her a bit out there. The story comes together well enough but it needs polishing. She can't remember the first four years, she's currently 16 but a reference of "ten years ago" was made frequently placing her at fourteen. When authors mess around with dates they need to be exact. Twisty, thrilling and totally creepy. More! This is one of those books that sticks with you long after you finish reading.
