She moves into a new neighborhood full of ladies who all have something to hide, or at least have had quite a past life themselves. Caroline is the nosy neighbor who welcomes Amanda but she has some things in store for her newest neighbor.

I love Nicole Trope’s books. She is an auto-read author for me! This psychological thriller kept me up at night while listening to the madness! Seriously, this one is action-packed and full of surprises. There’s something about a nosy neighborhood that makes me want to read a book even more. I loved this one and the narrator, Taryn Ryan, was ohhhh, so good! She knows how to make a thriller, extra thrilling!

"Welcome to West Street" was a quick listen. It wasn't an intense thriller, but it did have some good twists. There were some parts I had to skip, but I can't explain more without spoiling it.

This was a fun book! Amanda and her children escape to West Street to try to get away from her devious husband, but are her new neighbors out to get her family? This book was very twisty and different. The final twist was something I hadn't read before! I did find it a little predictable but ultimately enjoyable.

Amanda and her two children move to West Street when Amanda leaves her abusive husband.. The neighbours seem friendly, if a little nosey.

I loved the cover of this book, and along with the blurb I was soon pulled into the life of Amanda and her neighbours. It seemed fairly obvious that both Amanda, with her mysterious text message, and the neighbours all have secrets which are hinted at throughput the book. The book was paced just right and the story was intriguing, though most of the characters in the book we're quite unlikeable, especially Amanda's son. I did enjoy the first 75℅ of the book but then, quite frankly, things became totally ridiculous. It was just too OTT for me. Also I did guess the final twist.

I did enjoy the narration by Taryn Ryan. Her voices for the different characters made the book more enjoyable.

This was a really fun and suspenseful read. The story follows Amanda, who moves to West Street with her two children, hoping to leave behind an abusive marriage. But as she gets to know her overly friendly and very nosy neighbours, she begins to suspect that the seemingly idyllic community she has landed in might be hiding some dark secrets. Has she truly escaped her past, or simply traded one nightmare for another?

The storyline kept me hooked from start to finish and the alternating perspectives worked brilliantly, adding layers of tension and gradually revealing the truth behind the picture-perfect facades.

That said, I did not particularly like any of the characters. Jordan might just be the most insufferable book child I have ever come across. Despite that, the drama and suspense made it impossible to stop listening.

It was a little unrealistic at times, but it was juicy, fast paced and full of twists, and I thoroughly enjoyed the ride.

About the book: Amanda is a mother that is trying to get away from her abusive husband with her two children. When she finally becomes brave enough to leave, she finds a house small house for the 3 of them on a quiet street called West Street. And she thinks all will be good.

Caroline is an elderly woman that lives in the street and when she sees Amanda and her kids moving in, she knows she must make them feel welcome. So she takes a dish over a goes to knock on the door to welcome them to the street.

Caroline seems nice but she is a little nosy. But Amanda isn’t worried about that, she’s happy to be living on West Street where everything seems so peaceful and she has finally gotten away from her husband.

But her life will be anything but peaceful. Her husband is looking for her, and her son is so angry at her for taking him away from his him and his father. He is becoming more and more hostile towards her, and she fears he will become more and more violent.

And on top of all this, the people of West Street may not be as “peaceful” as she thought.


What I thought: I really enjoyed this book! It hooked me immediately and kept my attention throughout. It was twisty and suspenseful. All in all I’d rate it 4 stars and I would definitely recommend it to others.

Taryn Ryan did an amazing job narrating this audiobook!

have to say I loved the premise of this book. I wish they had provided more of an in-depth description on all of the residents of the neighborhood as that’s the part that intrigued me the most. The main story line didn’t really catch my interest as much as the on going’s of the neighborhood did.

Welcome to West Street by Nicole Trope and narrated by Taryn Ryan was a excellent psychological thriller with a shocking twist especially as it had me gripped from the very start. It was full of suspense with brilliant twists and turns throughout which makes Nicole an excellent author, she know how to have you hooked! and up most of the night listening to it - So glad I had ear buds and I had no work the next day!!!!

The narrator Taryn Ryan was excellent and bought this book alive from the start.

I highly recommend this book/audiobook. It was superb!

I love Nicole Trope. However, Welcome to West Street did not meet my expectations of her. I didn't enjoy any of the main characters. The narration was just okay.

"Everything in life is easier when you don't concern yourself with what everybody else is doing."

Amanda has moved to West Street with her two kids, trying to escape her current complicated life. Her kids are not too happy especially her son and he is not making the move easier on her. Times like this call for good neighbours right? Well the neighbours in West Street are friendly if not a little bit too nosy. But Amanda can handle that as long as nothing goes awry, but unfortunately her secrets are about to be exposed and will she be able to trust in her neighbours?

Ooooh this is my first with this author and i was pleasantly impressed. I really felt the cul-de-sac atmosphere of the story and was interested to see how all would play out. Amanda is jittery and on edge and when we uncover her story i couldn't help but feel so sorry for her. I wanted to grab her son by the shoulders to tell him to lay off his mum and stop giving her such a hard time.
The neighbours were indeed nosy if not very suspicious and i just couldn't gel with them. Caroline aggravated me and whenever her chapters came up i spent the whole time rolling my eyes. She was an absolute busy body!

Although slightly predictable i enjoyed the way the narrator narrated the story (although her voice for the son kept confusing me). The story kept me on my toes and i enjoyed how it ended if not a little over embellished.
I will definitely be reading more of this authors work!

Go into this one blind to fully enjoy all the crazy twists and turns. The characters seem realistic and I felt for Amanda who was just trying to do the right thing for herself and her children. She wasn't sure who she could trust and worried so much about her kids, especially Jordan, who was so angry and bitter towards her. Another good twisty thriller - loved the ending!

Amanda has done the hardest part and left her abusive husband taking her children with her, now she just has to keep them all safe. West Street is her family's fresh start., but all is not what it seems. I found this a cracking listen that certainly kept me on my toes when it came to the direction it was taking!

Welcome to West Street is another great read from Nicole Trope, who’s quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Her characters always feel so real, and this story was no exception. Amanda’s fresh start on a quiet cul-de-sac with her two kids doesn’t go as smoothly as she hopes—especially with her son, Jordan, struggling to adjust. I really felt for both of them, and their complicated mother-son relationship was written with a lot of honesty.

Told from the perspectives of Amanda, Jordan, and their neighbor Caroline, the story flows easily and kept me turning the pages. Caroline added a unique perspective that gave the story extra heart, and I enjoyed watching how everything slowly unraveled. There are definitely some heavier themes here, especially around Amanda’s marriage, so it’s worth checking for trigger warnings—but I thought they were handled thoughtfully.

This one had a few twists I didn’t see coming and a pace that made it hard to put down. I'm already looking forward to whatever Nicole Trope writes next!

Full of suspense and twists this book leaves you questioning what you just read. Amazing concept and reasoning behind it all. The gossipy neighbors to the haunting pasts... Of many. This book is sure to bring a thrill to anyone.

Another day, another neighborhood drama book.

The book's premise was intriguing:
The female protagonist escapes an abusive marriage with a move with her children to a lovely West Street cul-de-sac.

Any audiobook lover will tell you that a narrator can make or break a book.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Taryn Ryan and, unfortunately, I was not the right listener for this book.

This was my first Taryn Ryan audiobook, and Taryn Ryan's narration was similar to performances by narrators Imogen Church and Xe Sands.

Taryn Ryan's intonations and inflections were annoying, making this 8-hour book and storyline difficult to embrace.

I liked the story. Caroline is unhinged and the reveal coming gradually through the relationship with her daughter is done well.
The only thing I didn't like was the narrators intonation at the end of sentences...

But soon after the move in, her angry son runs away. Amanda's neighbors band together in a search set up by the police. However, can Amanda trust any of them? She barely knows them.

This is a fast paced, well written psychological thriller that you will not be able to put down. The characters are interesting and the ending is superb! Highly recommend.

At the other side of the street is a neighbour who loves to gossip🫣 there I said it.
The story is more like that, neighbours can’t go away and wants to the street to be as picture perfect that they control.
However, the gossipers actually can help with the situation that has Amanda’s in, or is it?

A twisty ending which worth the read. Better in audible to hear the Australian narrative.

I am not going to finish this one. I had a hard time getting into the story as well as having a hard time understanding the narrator, so I kept having to rewind to figure out what I missed. This one might be a great read for others, just wasn't my cup of tea.
