The start of the book was too war heavy. Therefore I decided to DNF. The writing is fine but I thought the plot would be more of the land disputes....This is a me issue and not the books fault.

An engaging and atmospheric read with all the elements I enjoy—revenge, complex characters, and a compelling African backdrop.
The storyline is well-crafted and draws you in from the start. The characters are layered and believable, with a particularly strong antagonist who is easy to dislike—in the best way. As someone who loves Zimbabwe, I appreciated the vivid return to 1940s Southern Rhodesia, a time of global and regional upheaval. The setting felt authentic and immersive. A thought-provoking and memorable book. Highly recommended.
