I have read many books on Oasis and the Gallagher Brothers over time, so like to think I'm fairly clued up on them, their career and the music.

The pocket book would be useful for someone who isn't familiar with Oasis and chapters will take you through their albums, the early days, their looks and those legendary fights!

I did find the chapter order to be a little disjointed, but other than that it's a great little book packed with the banter between and quotes from the boys.

Great little book.

The Pocket Oasis is a quick, easy read that covers all the essentials about Oasis—how they started, their biggest songs, and the ups and downs along the way. It’s part of the Gemini Pockets series, so it’s small and simple, but packed with cool info. Great if you’re into the band or just want a laid-back way to learn more about one of the biggest names in Britpop.

💙A big, big thanks to Gemini Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to look at The Pocket Oasis. I will share my review to Amazon, Goodreads, and Barnes & Noble upon release.

💙Considering their popularity in the UK and around the world, I think Oasis is a great selection for a Pocket edition and this was a great one! The little facts and interesting stories captured my attention. I didn't know some of the stories and so was pleasantly surprised to know. I really enjoyed learning more about the band's influences and ideas that came together to make their sound and the inner workings between the boys themselves.

💙This book spans the many years of Oasis' success, from their early beginnings all the way up to the present moment, with their 2025 reunion tour. The blue theme is maintained throughout and keeps a lovely structure. The one thing I would have wanted to be added is even more pictures of the band interspersed, just for the sake of a visual to go with the stories. But I did like the ones that were included.

💙This would make an amazing gift for any Oasis fan or music history nerd.

💙5/5 stars! Thanks again!

Thanks to the publisher, Gemini, for the advance look at this book.

A pithy little thing this Pocket Oasis book. I can't for the life of me imagine who this is for. Might as well just skim the Oasis Wikipedia page.

Another odd bit is that it is not chronological in its storytelling. Maybe this book could be given away as a freebie at a gig? I'd honestly suggest the Modern Music Masters series over this summary of a summary of the band's career.

Really excellent.

Thanks, NetGalley and Gemini, for gifting me an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

This perfect-length slip of a book takes you to trivia town regarding all things Oasis. While one could while away a fair whack of time going over Oasis info on a site like Wikipedia, this book gives you plenty of takeaway pieces of info that you can share with people and appear knowledgable such as.

Did you know Liam Gallagher credits Madonna for getting him into music after someone hit him over the head with a hammer (!) in 1986?
Did you know that Noel Gallagher had the arrogance to say upon receiving an award from INXS that "has-beens shouldn't be presenting awards to gonna-bes."
Did you know that Liam lost his front teeth in a 2002 feud in Munich and that he's got a permanent ban from Cathay Pacific?
(What's the Story) Morning Glory? hailed from Bye, Bye, Birdie.

I could go on and on. The quotes are pretty good, too. The pathos of Noel saying that fame wasn't as joyous as trying to make it, Liam's foresight amidst the expletives. There's also a Champagne Supernova recipe. I wasn't alive for the Oasis heyday, but you get an idea. And that's very worthwhile.
