I loved the slow-burn of this mystery novel, it had that element that I was looking for and enjoyed in this type of book. The overall feel was something that worked well and had that tension that I was wanting and enjoyed in this type of book. Sacha Bronwasser was able to weave a strong tale and enjoyed the character development of this. I thought the translation worked overall and was engaged with what was happening.

Certainly not a straight-forward mystery. I enjoyed reading it nonetheless for the atmospheric rendition of Paris and the questions it posed about the ethics of photographing human subjects. I also felt absolutely compelled to know what would happen in the end. 3.5 stars (rounded up to 4)/ 5.

Thanks to NetGalley and Viking Penguin for letting me read an ARC.

I enjoyed the setting of this book and the atmosphere. Kind of a different slow mystery but definitely worth checking out.
