Keeping the Score is the second book in the steamy hockey series by Kelly Jamieson. Each book is interlocked but can be read alone.
Ford is a goalie for an NHL team and he’s a typical goalie that has weird routines and odd superstitions so he knows he’s better off alone. No one is going to want to put up with all of this so one night stands and the odd date is about as much relationship as he gets.
Andi is Fords next door neighbour and recently divorced after her MLB player fiancé cheated on her. Andi is working on herself and enjoying the single life. Ford helps her out a lot and although they both feel some attraction, they are good neighbours and friends.
Ford gets the surprise of his life when a one night stand from over a year ago, shows up on his doorstep with a baby girl, Matilda. Ford is now a single dad (sort of) and is about to start the season he’s worked so hard for.
Ford navigates fatherhood and Andi steps in to help. As the months go by, Ford and Andi aren’t just building a connection with Fords little girl, but they are no longer denying the attraction to each other.
What happens when Matilda’s mom comes back and the no strings attached arrangements seem like there are too many strings to let go.
This is both a funny and emotional story. I liked both Ford and Andy’s characters and enjoyed the storyline. This is a 4 star read for me!

Keeping the Score was an humorous and emotional read.
This is Ford and Andi's story, from neighbours and friends to lovers and Family.
Ford and Andi don't want to be in a serious relationship for different reasons, but they really care for each other as friends, until the day they unexpectedly meet the most gorgeous baby. Tilly will throw them for a loop and they will end up getting close and attached to each other.
Andi and Ford are great characters. They understand each other, they don't judge the other, they are lovely and amusing together.
Ford growth was fascinating. I loved how he slowly changes in order to accommodate his little baby into his life. I also liked how Andi puts down her walls to make room for Tilly and Ford, and how she faces her fears to be betrayed again.
Kelly Jamieson wrote a very good story, with so much heart. I have smiled, cried and cooed over her words.
I can't wait to se what comes next from this author.

Andi and Ford have been neighbors since she moved into the apartment building with her ex boyfriend. Becoming friends after, her always coming to him for help and him happily doing whatever she asked. One day, an ex hookup shows up at his door letting him know he has a baby. And she needs him to watch the baby for the next few months. Andi feels the need to help considering how much he’s always helped her. The two of them come together, grow closer as they learn how to handle a baby.
I had read the first book in this series and loved it. I was so excited to read this one and was not disappointed at all. If anything I enjoyed this one even more. Obsessed with our main male character, Ford. And him with Andi I was obsessed. A hockey romance and single parent romance? YES, please!!
The ending? When we find out why the mom left the baby, girl I was SOBBING. Wasn’t expecting all that.

Andi, poor Andi, is suffering from quite the heartbreak but she is a good neighbour and an even better friend. Ford gets his meticulously planned life flipped upside down when he is handed his own baby (that he didn’t know existed) out of the blue. I really appreciated how he took on the role of single-dad and all the cute moments he shared with Matilda, and how Andi stepped up to help him out. It almost eclipsed the romance for me because honestly… Ford and Andi had some serious micommunication issues. I had a hard time being convinced that they would work out at all, but in the end their chemistry was undeniable and the romance was pretty cute. And they were always there for Matilda (Tilly) which was really great.

Ford lives for hockey, routine, discipline, and total focus. But everything changes when a newborn baby is left on his doorstep, turning his carefully ordered life upside down. With nowhere else to turn, he leans on his neighbour and longtime friend, Andi, for help. She’s chaotic, caring, and completely unprepared for motherhood, but she steps in without hesitation. What starts as a temporary arrangement quickly transforms into something deeper. Late nights blur into soft moments, boundaries fade, and suddenly the brooding alpha athlete and the woman who never believed in settling down are building something that looks a lot like love.

The beginning of the book was a slow start. Once Matilda arrives, things pick up. Ford has a huge issue with a schedule and learning that babies don't care about that! Ford never wanted kids but when his daughter is dropped off by a one-night stand, he steps up the plate. Andi, Ford's neighbor and friend, does not want kids either but helps out Ford. Good hockey romance read.

this i would recommend to anyone. i loved this one because it wasnt written as like a dumb FMC but definitely likeable at least to me. I think this was made three time better because of the fact that hockey did not take up the entirety of this book. but added to the appeal. i loved it!

I liked this book so much more than Crossing the Line - which is set in the same world as this book with Benny and Mabel.
It's a very fast-paced slow burn hockey romance that I read in a day. The characters were brilliant and I loved the banter between them as they tried to take care of the baby. Plus the teammate banter is so hilarious as they tease Ford about Andi.
I liked that both characters had to work out their own issues and grew as people not just to be together but also to grow to love and protect Ford's daughter (Matilda aka Tilly). Their struggle with their own mental health and becoming parents is beautifully done.

🏒Book Review🏒
3⭐ 4🌶️
I was attracted to this book because The preface sounded really interesting. I love a weird goalie! However, I found the execution and the plot a little lacking. I felt that the connection between Ford and And was lacklustre and because of this I found the first spice seen rather cringy.
I found the reason behind the mother not being around rather convenient when the author could have lent into this to drive the tension and the angst in the book. This sort of reminded me of the difficult second album of a new band, and given this book is the second in the series, I wonder if there is a bit of 'throw everything at it and see what sticks'. However, while this was not the greatest book, I will still read more from this author and the next in the series.
Big thanks to NetGalley and Kelly Jamison for a copy of this book. This is my honest opinion.

Another great book By Kelly! I love getting her books! I can never get enough of the hockey romance books! This one defiantly had my heart strings being pulled!

This book was on FIRE!! I absolutely loved it. The characters were amazing and the chemistry was everything

I gave this until about 40% before DNF'ing, which is a bummer because I liked Crossing the Line.
This seemed really juvenile and superficial and I just couldn't see any sort of chemistry between Ford and Andi. I get that it's meant to be a slow burn but Ford's personality annoyed me. The mention of his teammate's dead child repeatedly was also not necessary, just as it wasn't necessary in previous book.

Book 2 in the New Jersey Storm series! If you love a hot hockey romance, you'll love this series. Good plot, great characters and lots of emotion.
Ford is the goalie for the Storm and as like any goalie, he has a lot of quirks. A lot of Ford's idiosyncrasies stem from his childhood but he has learned to deal with the best he can with therapy, meditation and Taekwondo. He also feels that these quirks make him a little unlovable and also a bit selfish. He has no desire for a girlfriend or family; his first and only love is hockey. However, when a one night stand from a year ago drops a tiny baby at his doorstep, he doesn't have much choice but to step up. In his panic, he enlists the help of his neighbor and friend Andi. Since she works from home, she is somewhat able to help Ford since he has a crazy schedule with hockey. However, she also is very focused on her career and has no desire for kids. This is merely to help Ford out since he has helped her so much since her divorce. The best laid plans never go the way they should. As the two take care of Tilly, both fall in love with her and at the same time their relationship takes a change. It started as friends, moved to friends with benefits but could it be more? Both Andi and Ford have their issues with relationship but both are perfect for each other it seems. But can they get enough gumption to tell the other? And what will happen when Tilly's mother returns for her?
I really enjoyed Ford and all his quirks. Great development of him as a character. And Andi complements him well.

I loved Andi and Ford. They were so perfect for each other as they figured out how to raise Tilly together. I loved that Andi expected Ford for who he was, quirkiness and all. Ford's hockey family is amazing. It was great to see them help him problem solve his situations and show up for each other when needed. This story is definitely an emotional rollercoaster but filled with humor and heartwarming moments. Definitely worth the read!!

Hockey has always been the driving force in Ford’s life which ensured that he kept his interactions with women casual. When he discovers that one of those interactions have resulted in his daughter Tilly and he is now a single father he is out of his depth and needs help from Andi, his friend and neighbor.
After her last relationship Andi isn’t looking for love or a relationship but she isn’t about to let Ford and Tilly fend for themselves. Even though she has no experience with looking after a baby it isn’t long before Tilly steals her heart and seeing the way Ford overcomes his challenges and looks after his daughter has him claiming her heart as well.
Both Ford and Andi have demanding careers and children weren’t something they were considering however when Tilly came into their lives the live they felt for her was immediate and intense as they found the perfect family in each other.

Thank you Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book. The opinions written are completely honest and my own.
This was the book I chose to start reading again, sadly I was not able to finish it. It was very slow and took way too long to really build a story. It just wasn't my cup of tea.

Ford and Andi morphed into lovers from their friendship very well. They each have their problems, and eventually open up to each other. Tilly was such a cutie baby.
Lovely read.

I love a good single dad story and this did not disappoint. Ford never wanted kids and has always been upfront with the women he is with. He had parents that loved him and supported him in his hockey career, but he never had boundaries. He is, in his own words, self centered and doesn’t have time or the patience for kids. Plus he is a neat freak. When a woman he was with shows up with a baby and tells him he is the dad, and she needs to leave the baby with him to take care of her parents, he is thrown for a loop.
Andi is Ford’s neighbor and they are friends. She is fresh off a divorce from her husband of years, so she isn’t looking for a serious relationship. She asks him for a favor and he accepts. Their banter over his wardrobe is hilarious, but he steps up. When he asks her for help with his newfound baby, she is hesitant, but can’t turn him down because she sees the pleading and panic in his eyes.
Being able to see the growth of the characters is fantastic. Ford learned a lot about himself and it was really nice seeing him realize that he was looking at certain things incorrectly. I also enjoyed seeing Andi develop into a fantastic person. I didn’t like her at first, for some reason, but seeing her interactions with the baby and Ford helped me change my opinion. I honestly think they brought out the best in each other.
I laughed a lot while reading this book, but there were some sad moments that had me crying as well. When his ex comes back for the baby my heart broke for everyone involved. I can’t wait for more in this series. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.

I really enjoyed this book! It was a (mostly) fun read with a good storyline—sudden single dad who doesn't know how to deal with a baby and the friendly neighbor who...also doesn't know how to handle a baby. A nice take on the trope that the female knows all and has to teach the inept father, because truly, babies are confounding at times. Loved seeing Ford struggle to let go of his routines, then embrace the change to his lifestyle as he falls in love with his daughter, and seeing Andi realize that she is worthy of love and that her divorce nor her career define who she is entirely. She contains multitudes and her growth is a joy to watch.
I was rather taken aback at the "twist", which while executed well enough hit hard and didn't get the time I feel like it deserved. There was more meat in the bones of that part of this story and I would've liked to have seen it explored and the baby's mother given more dimension. That's the reason I knocked off a star; if going purely off feels, well, it'd be a five because I experienced them all, from cute laughs and sexy times to big fat tears.
Kelly Jamieson is a wonderful author and I will always pick up her books. I'm looking forward to more of her hockey stories in the future!

This one is a tear jerker, for sure. I loved that Andi and Ford worked together to care for Ford’s daughter and also explore their attraction. There was a little bit of conflict and plenty of steamy scenes to keep it spicy. The end was a surprise that had me blubbering like a baby.
Such a great series and a great read, for sure. 5 stars!!
