So good. This author does an amazing job making us care about these characters. An incredible romance with some wonderful supporting character work particularly the heroines mother and brother. Also an incredible book about how much money can matter.

The book just didn’t get rolling for me. I was looking forward to this one because of the cute storyline. However, the female main character’s themes of being broke and frustrated with crushing on the male main character reoccurred so often without having the story move on that it made the first half of the book extremely boring and redundant.

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Love in Plane Sight was a fun book. I liked the he falls first aspect and how Beth realizes she might be interested in him in such a dramatic scene. I would read more books by Lauren Connolly.

A romantic comedy with all the laughs and all the feelings. Like the start, it got me hooked with all the witty dialogue and funny scenes and likable characters. Unfortunately, I had trouble connecting with the characters because too many personalities made it hard to follow, especially when trying to connect with the main character, Beth. This story has so much potential, but I think the author tried too hard to check all the boxes in one story. I did like some parts, but I think this book is more suited for a younger audience.

Thank you, NetGalley and Publisher, for the eARC.

Such a refreshing rom-com! I constantly wanted to pick this book back up and keep reading. I especially loved that it didn’t lean too heavily on the overused romance tropes that have been wearing me out lately. Beth and George have fantastic chemistry, making this one a joy to read. I also wouldn’t mind getting a Shawn and Darla book one day!

A very enjoyable romance set in the world of private aviation— something new and enlightening for me. The hot pilot and great supporting cast made for a good read. I did feel like the MC’’s requisite baggage was a little heavy handed, but it was a good, recommendable romance read.

Love in plain sight is a romantic story of two people who are trying to have their lives ruined by rich fathers

I really enjoyed this story. It starts with an emergency and ends with her finding herself with the help of her brother’s best friend. Beth and George have not gotten along and these two take enemies to lovers to heart. As these two start spending more time together, they both realize that there is so much more than what is on the surface. Beth is trying to do everything she can to help her mom and keeping her own secrets until they start to bubble up and over. It is at that moment that she realizes that it is time to finally tell her mom everything. There are moments that you want to yell at the characters, all of them, for not being open and honest. This story had my attention from page one to the last word. I cheered for Beth and George and yelled a few times at them. It made me happy when he figured things out on his own and I appreciate that Beth wanted to keep information to herself to not make relationships of others sour, even if it meant hurting herself in the process.

Thank you to Netgalley and Berkley Publishing Group for this arc!

Connelly's signature sense of humor makes this rom com a must read. Opposites majorly attract and a shared love of flying bonds our two leads in a charming romance. If you liked the tongue-in-cheek horniness of SKY DADDY by Kate Folk but wanted a human-to-human romance, this book is for you.

A mile-high slow-burn that is perfect for readers who need that quick but addictive late night read! My wine may have gone warm but it was so worth it hahah✨

Beth’s determination mixed with George’s #grumpishsunshine charm is so perfect it hurts. Lots of sensitive talk about parental illness/loss so be aware! I found some of those parts so devastating honestly but the turn around into the regular plot was quick!

The banter is fun, light and playful while still leaving you itching about the wonders underneath George’s clothes…until you don’t have to wonder anymore😈 My heart literally flew away with this read!

I really enjoyed PS I Hate You, so I obviously jumped at the opportunity to read this ARC. And I devoured it. From page one, I was hooked. It was exactly the quick, cutesy romcom that I was craving.

I think the best part about a Lauren Connolly novel is her ability to create memorable characters. She writes these messy, imperfect but lovable people that feel so real. They’re multidimensional, easily relatable, and you spend the novel feeling like you’re among friends. Beth and George immediately had this unbelievable chemistry. You could feel the sexual tension for pretty much the whole novel, making it so worthwhile when they finally get together. But my true loves were obviously Shawn and Darla. I was completely smitten with the two of them and their delicious banter. And I’m VERY much hoping for a spinoff of their love story.

I also loved the setting. I was born in Northern Virginia, and still have a ton of family in the area, so it was so fun to read about places I actually know. And while it’s so close to DC, she set up this perfect little small town vibe that felt so real. The diner was charming and made you feel completely at home.

My issues with this book lay in the overstated, and honestly annoying, mentions of money. Every other paragraph is Beth complaining about being broke or “lying” to her brother about money, or how she can’t afford something. Like dude, we get it. You a broke bitch. Cool. It doesn’t have to continue to be stated. I think we could’ve taken the money mentions and slashed them in half. And obviously there are miscommunications. There always are. These just got a bit overwhelming, too. Especially considering how silly the “lie” to her brother was. It’s silly to me she was so worried knowing the person Shawn is and how much he loves her.

I did appreciate how the “big reveal(s)” came about, and feel like there was some much needed growth amongst most characters. It was wrapped up in a way that felt complete; I wasn’t left feeling like things were unfinished or annoyed by how things ended up.

Overall, really loved this novel. If it weren’t for the overwhelming money talk, it would’ve easily been a 5 star. Even so, I ate this up and cannot wait for her next read!

Thank you to Lauren Connolly, Berkeley Publishing Group, and NetGalley for this binge-worthy ARC!

Gosh, I had a great time reading this book. It made me laugh out loud several times, I felt deeply emotional at parts, and I was smiling at my Kindle so much while I was reading it.

I admired Beth’s character immensely, both in the “part of the book” sense and the kind of person she was created to be. She had such a big heart and a determined spirit. She was an incredibly hard worker and she had a pure goodness to her. Her relationships with her family, biological and chosen, reflected that as much as her internalized thoughts, feelings, and struggles. She took the circumstances of her life and made it a point to put the people she loved at the forefront of her mind to care for and protect them however she could. It made it all the more satisfying to see the moments when she would finally allow something good in for herself, and to see others push for her to do those things.

Now George. I’ve read enough books to recognize a down bad reticent man when I see him. I didn’t know *why* he held back, but I knew the reasons were there and would be revealed in time, and the Beth was completely oblivious to how enamored he was with her. This man was suffering in silence for her long before she ever would’ve guessed. It was so endearing and an adorable slow burn to me waiting for the moment it couldn’t be held back any longer.

I loved the premise of the story surrounding Beth’s desire to be a pilot. It felt so unique to anything I’ve read before, and it leant itself to creating a great deal of depth in the book. It was an opportunity to look at the privilege and misogyny impact on a highly specialized hobby/career and who those opportunities are more readily available to. Beth had to face both of those, and her family history added another layer to everything.

One last thing to note: the secondary characters were also vital to this story. Whether “villain” or positive piece, they all played a role. I *loved* Shawn and Darla specifically and would read an entire book about them.

I can’t wait to add this one to my shelves. Thank you to Berkley via NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Coming clean
Another great story by Lauren that I truly loved.
Beth was hard working, passionate about becoming a pilot, worried about her mum and afraid of destroying the relationship with her beloved stepbrother, Shawn.
This story was told from Beth’s point of view, it centres around her guilt of not telling the truth when it matters, her mum’s illness, a nasty parent and her never ending money struggles.
Her feelings about George (her brother’s best friend) become more complicated as the story evolves.
Could they possibly have a future together?
As the time draws near for all to be revealed she is afraid to lose all that she holds dear.
A great storyline with wonderful characters that had me at times laughing out loud at the antics they all got up to.
Can’t wait for Shawn and Darla to get their own story, it’ll be a blast.

Thank you Lauren Connolly and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this novel.

This was a great romance full of so much substance. This was definitely predictable but I don’t find that to be a con when reading romance novels.

The author puts a content warning at the beginning - appearing to address every possible subject that could be triggering to a reader. She definitely covered some heavy subject but I didn’t find it to be hard to read. It made the novel and the romance that much better and stronger.

Language scattered throughout and a couple steamy scenes.

Love in Plane Sight opens with a promising scene which involves a plane crash that is...hot? I'm not sure how Lauren Connolly pulled that off, but she did. Beth and George have a slowburn romance that kind of explodes into a full blown romance, but I never quite connected with Beth. Overall, I appreciate Lauren Connolly's skill as a writer and I won't turn down the chance to read what happens next between Beth's brother and best friend.

“Love in Plane Sight” is everything you want in a rom-com: laugh-out-loud moments, unexpected chemistry, and that warm buzz when opposites somehow click. Our heroine is quirky and relatable—she's trying to do her job and survive her travel-happy family, but then the charming pilot walks in... and suddenly “business as usual” flies out the window.
Connelly nails the banter, tension, and just-right emotional payoffs. The characters feel like real people with real flaws—and real hearts—who you can’t help rooting for. Plus, the setting of airports and flights adds a fun, dynamic twist that keeps the story soaring.

Whether you're in need of lighthearted escapism or a romance that leaves you grinning, this one’s a smooth flight worth taking.

This book was a delight. It had so much more emotion and depth to it than I was expecting. Beth and George had palpable tension simmering beneath the surface from the beginning and I loved watching this grumpy mmc slowly turn into a sweet, golden retriever book boyfriend. In addition to loving the main characters and their relationship, I also really enjoyed the side character’s- especially Beth’s brother Shawn. Their book club was so sweet 🫶🏼

This was my first read by Lauren Connolly, but I am already looking forward to reading more of her romcoms! The expected publication date for 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 is December 16, 2025. 𝘼 𝙝𝙪𝙜𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙠 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙤 𝘽𝙚𝙧𝙠𝙡𝙚𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙉𝙚𝙩𝙂𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙤𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙩𝙤 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙚𝘼𝙍𝘾 𝙞𝙣 𝙚𝙭𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙢𝙮 𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙚𝙬!

'Love in Plane Sight' is one of my favorite books that I've read this year! I can't wait to read it again.

George and Beth dislike each other, and he is the best friend of her brother, Shawn. Beth and Shawn share a dad, but didn’t grow up together.
George and Shawn have dads who head a luxury transportation company. Beth is from the other side of the tracks. She works as a waitress at a diner, but she is an aspiring pilot (if only she could afford the lessons).

I loved George and Beth’s dynamic. So she is surprised when he offers her free flying lessons.
When he lands a plane on a highway to avoid a crash, she starts to develop a crush on him which leads to tricky feelings while in a cock pit together. She hates that she has a crush on him because he seemed like he was always avoiding her and walking away when she walked in the room. She assumed he was a jerk, but maybe, she was wrong about him.

I also liked that the book talks about sexism in aviation. Beth is judged for being a woman around all men. One older man calls her a pretty little thing.

Shawn and Beth's relationship was a key part of the story, and I really liked their sibling bond. Their monthly book clubs were so sweet, and I liked how he stopped in to her diner to see her. He also had a crush on her best friend, Darla, who also worked at the diner. Their relationship was also so cute. I'd read a book about Shawn and Darla!

I loved that both characters are pining for each other in secret. This is a slow burn, but it gets spicy! He even calls her a good girl! This is one of my favorite books of the year, and I can't wait to reread it.

I was incredibly excited to read Lauren Connolly's upcoming release, Love in Plane Sight. Having absolutely loved her latest release, P.S. I Hate You, I had very high expectations for this one, and it truly exceeded them. I devoured it in one day and didn't pause at all once I started. I even reread it because I enjoyed it so much!

Before going any further, I want to let you know that this book does contain heavy topics, so please check out the trigger warnings before reading.

I particularly appreciate that Lauren does not sugarcoat any of the difficult subjects discussed; she handles them perfectly, which helps us connect deeply with the story and the characters. Beth Lundberg, though a tad cynical and sassy, consistently works her best for the people she loves, despite the complicated presence (or lack thereof) of her father in her life.

It's truly fortunate that she has her older brother, who deeply cares for her and consistently encourages her to pursue her dreams of becoming a pilot. However, it's heartbreaking to realize that Beth is also deeply in debt, a fact unknown to others. I empathize with her greatly, especially considering she's striving to be everything for her mother, who is finally in remission. The medical costs, as we know, were significantly higher than anyone anticipated. I truly understand and feel for Beth's struggles throughout the novel.

What I love the most is Beth finally opening to everyone. It doesn't happen all at once. Just slowly, starting off with her nemesis, aka her brother's best friend, aka potential love interest, George. They may have started off on the wrong foot, but Beth and George definitely have crazy chemistry with each other. You could tell that the tension between Beth and George was going to explode one way or another. I was just waiting for it. And it didn't disappoint at all. Just love Beth and George's chemistry. The chemistry between Beth and George is truly captivating.

This book examines the way power dynamics affect a multitude of relationships while also providing a romance that is a homage to Pride & Prejudice.

Beth wants to become a pilot but money for flight school is tight. Her dreams aren’t able to get off the ground until her brother’s best friend, George, offers to teach her. While this is occurring, she has to battle the weight of her growing romantic feelings, sexism, her mother’s recovery, and a secret that she is holding from her brother.

If you love Mr. Darcy vibes, then you’ll love George. Any seasoned romance reader will see that he has harboured feelings for a long while. Teaching Beth to fly allows him to be in close proximity to her and eventually things between them flourish.

This book is a case study on power structures. Gender imbalance and discrimination are shown via the flight school and the relationship between Beth’s mother and father; capitalism by ways of BBN and Beth’s need for multiple jobs. Parental power structures are also a key part to the story. Her mother’s illness leads to an inversion where Beth feels she has to take care of her mother instead of vice versa. Her father views relationships as transactional which leads Beth to believe she is discardable. When it comes to the romance, things are complicated due to the student/teacher dynamic. There are a lot of threads but they all weave together well.

As an aside, I could read a whole book about Darla and Shawn.

This was another outstanding book by Lauren Connolly. Absolutely worth the read.
