First off, LOOK HOW CUTE THE COVER IS!!
Second, I absolutely loved this book (for the most part). The childhood best friends to coworkers, to helping each other succeed ughh so good. The crushes from childhood coming back up as adults, and the tension. Yesss the tension was so good. And the spice scenes were to die for!
I am also a sucker for cute non-cliche nicknames, and this book delivered!
Overall, I enjoyed the spice, and the topics discussed in the book! I think this was a refreshingly unique take on a sports romance. There was character development, with good imposter syndrome rep.
Buuuuut it did get tiring at a certain point. I loved the dialogue and style of writing, but there were points where I wished there was something more in the book. I wanted less immaturity and more growth as we got farther along. I appreciated the HEA, but it felt a little rushed.
If you’re looking for a fun sports romance with “friends to strangers to coworkers to (secret) lovers” vibes this one is for you!

Drive Me Crazy by Lizzy Dent is a fast-paced romance set in the high-stakes world of Formula 1 racing. It follows Chloe Coleman, one of the first female team principals in F1, and Matt Warner, a fallen star driver looking for a comeback. As they work together to save their careers and team, sparks fly—on and off the track.
I enjoyed the dual POV, as Dent does a great job of giving each character a distinct voice. Chloe's imposter syndrome and Matt’s struggle to reclaim his career were both relatable. Their chemistry was engaging, but the romance felt a bit rushed, and the more intimate scenes lacked the emotional depth I was hoping for.
Dent clearly knows her F1, and while I appreciated the authentic atmosphere, I would have liked to see more behind-the-scenes details about team management. Some plot points, like Matt’s trauma over a past crash and the fallout from a negative news piece, felt underdeveloped, leaving some emotional beats unaddressed.
On the plus side, there’s no third-act breakup, and the happy ending felt earned despite some of the pacing issues. Overall, Drive Me Crazy is a fun, light read with a unique setting, perfect for those looking for a quick, sweet romance with a dash of sports drama.

I haven't read many F1 books, so I'm not super familiar, but this one was a lot of fun! I was hooked pretty quickly and I finished it in about 2 days, so it's a short read. It was also pretty easy to keep track of the timeline and how things were happening, especially as a novice to F1. Chloe and Matt were a fun couple, and the tension between them was pretty compelling, but I didn't love the "will they, won't they" feel of it. I wanted a decision to be made, but that was just me being impatient.
I still don't know how to feel about Barry as a character. Do I like him? Do I think he sucks as the owner of an F1 team? Is he still a misogynist? I hate that he didn't have faith in Chloe, and to me it still felt like he didn't at the end, but he's only saying he does because of Matt. I guess I just have mixed feelings about Barry as a whole. All in all, the romance and the story was fun! I'd recommend it if you've never dipped your toe in F1 and want a fun romance.
Also I hope she fired that strategist and Jack gets reamed in the newspapers/magazines as a slimy, unethical reporter.

When Chloe is made team principle of a failing F1 team, she makes it her mission to do whatever it takes to pull them out of the trenches and into the championship fight. But then her plan is disrupted by Matt, her childhood crush and a front-of-the-pack driver that has been struggling to keep himself in the fight too. When old feelings arise throughout the season, Chloe and Matt must decide what is more important to them: team orders or their own race.
I really enjoy F1 romances that talk about a world in which women play a more prominent role in the pinnacle of motorsport. It might be unrealistic due to the current state of the sport, but a girl can dream right?

As an F1 fan, I was so excited to come across this book! In the genre of sport romances, accurately depicted F1 themes are lacking. Lizzy Dent did a great job with portraying and explaining the sport and included some really fun references for F1 enjoyers. The majority of the teams and characters in this book are based on real life, with some creative liberty mixed in making it so easy to accept the fictional details while feeling immersed. The balance of romance and the intense world of F1 was perfect!
The characters we meet are very fitting to the story and felt fully fleshed out. I didn't find myself questioning any of the decisions that our characters made. Some actions from our MC's could be seen as unrealistic in the world of F1, but that's what made this book so fun and easy to read!
I loved getting to watch our MFC make a name for herself in a male-dominated sport. I only wish that this book were longer! I would love to see Lizzy continue writing in this world.

Drive Me Crazy 🏁❤️
This book was a fast-paced and fun read! It was my first F1 book but it might’ve made a racing fan out of me now. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Chloe and Matt and I loved that their team of misfits became a real family. I really liked some of the side characters like Noah, Archie, and Jasper!
I wished there’d been a little character development/redemption for Barry. I didn’t love him forcing Chloe into the short dress lol and he was a bit harsh with her when he did make huge business decisions without her. I also wish we saw more of a fall from grace for snaky Jack 🤭
Overall the story was very cute and so fun! 3.5⭐️ rating for me. Thank you so much NetGalley and Putnam for the eARC!
Read if you enjoy:
🏎️ Sports/F1 romance
🏎️ Friends to lovers
🏎️ Workplace romance
🏎️ Second chance
🏎️ Underdog story

I didn’t know what to expect when I picked up Drive Me Crazy, but I ended up flying through it in just a couple of sittings. It’s fast, fun, and full of tension so I was hooked pretty early on.
Where it didn’t totally land for me was in the emotional depth. Some big moments felt a little too quick or surface-level, and I wanted more time spent unpacking their shared history. We’re told a lot about how much they meant to each other, but I didn’t always feel it as strongly as I wanted to. A few scenes could’ve used more breathing room, especially toward the end.
Still, this is a solid pick if you’re in the mood for workplace drama, second chances, and a heroine who refuses to back down. It's not a flawless read, but it's definitely an enjoyable one. 3.5 stars!

4.5 stars! My first Lizzy Dent book and I loved it! I’ve actually never watched F1 but still thought this book was so fun. I do love sports romances and a good second chance childhood crush story! These characters had their flaws, but they really did bring out the best in each other. This was such a quick read that I got through it in just a few hours and I enjoyed all of it!

Drive Me Crazy is a story about Chloe and Matt, childhood friends who meet again and have unrequited feelings. Basically two of my favorite things to read about. This was the first F1 book I’ve read and I found myself googling all sorts of stuff so I could further understand.
I loved the dialogue and the chemistry between the two main characters. I love that Chloe was strong and really a pioneer in her field. Matt was a flashy driver who found another chance.
The ending was not my favorite and some things I didn’t really enjoy (scantily clad for the good of her boss was an ick for me) but I did enjoy the story and found the characters to be believable and charming.

3.5! Thank you Putnam and Netgalley!
Yes I did have to google all of the f1 terms and yes it was worth it. This book was cuteeeeee and fun, and the characters were mature and communicated very well which I appreciated. I do think the ending moved super fast, and I wish we had seen more of Noah’s reconciliation / PTSD journey

This book was so cute and I really enjoyed reading it! I thought it was exciting and competitive! I loved that there was a strong female character in this one, who was likable! I loved the strong character development between the two main characters, the different point of views, and the chemistry the main characters had! I could tell that the author of this book really knew a lot about Formula 1 racing! This is a childhood friends to lovers romance, mixed in with a whole lot of racing and a little spice!
“Drive Me Crazy” is about a woman named Chloe becoming one of the first female F1 team principles on the team! She is determined and strong, knowing she will get this team of underdogs to champions! To Chloe’s surprise, she sees her childhood friend named Matt. Matt used to be a champion, but then got into a crash a while back. He is now on the same team as Chloe. Feelings start occurring between these two, while their team is in desperate need of getting into championship! Will they end up happily ever after? Does the team end up making it as champions? As the story unfolds, we find out how these two end up and how the team turns out! Be sure to read the content warnings. Overall, I rate this a 3 out of 5 stars!

Chloe Coleman, the new team principal of Arden Racing, is charged with saving the F1 team from the bottom of the rankings and financial ruin. During her first press conference the overbearing team owner announces the new driver is none other than Matt Warner, her childhood unrequited love. Can she repair their relationship and the team?
Drive Me Crazy was an enjoyable, easy read. Lizzy Dent’s knowledge of Formula 1 shines through in her perfect execution of the setting for the novel. I was pleased with how issues like sexism and lack of diversity in motorsports were acknowledged without taking away from the lightheartedness of the story.
The characters were developed in a way that is ideal for romance novels. It added to the plot without lending to too many subplots or characters that were too complex. The perspective switches between the FMC and MMC, but definitely focuses on the FMC. The dialogue felt realistic.
The romance falls into several tropes, but doesn’t really commit to any. They’re enemies to lovers, but they never really hated each other. She’s his boss, but there’s no power imbalance. So on and so forth. It doesn’t detract from how enjoyable the book is in my opinion, but readers who are looking for a specific trope may be disappointed in that aspect.
I wish there had been a little bit more will they won’t they, but I’m partial to a slow burn. I felt like their relationship was pretty realistic and liked how their history together was incorporated.
Overall, I really enjoyed cheering on Arden Racing as well as Chloe and Matt. I looked forward to picking this book back up every time. I’d recommend this to anyone who enjoys Emily Henry’s writing style and F1.

I love the F1 circuit concept with Chloe attempting to be recognized as a boss, a race car expert, and move beyond the pretty woman archetype. I also enjoyed the second chances motif from dogs to sponsors to drivers to romance! It was a fun, cute read with some great themes and life lessons along the way to remind us that sometimes, revenge is the best motivator to make the podium and forgiveness is our best shot toward happiness. The title is a cute, catchy line repeated throughout, and I loved the ending!

I like Lizzy Dent's stories. Her last book felt like a journey through Italy. I was looking forward to Drive Me Crazy since there has not really been a great F1 romance book - or any for that matter! I love how she captured all of the background of racing, how hard it is for a woman to come up through the ranks, how elite the sport is and how few are really successful. I found the story however to be a bit flat. I didn't think the main characters were that interesting. I was dissapointed in that sense

I LOVEDDDDDD this book. I read it in one sitting until literally 3am; I couldn't put it down! I have never read an F1 book before, yet everything was easy to understand. I enjoyed the premise of this book, because who doesn't love a story when you run into your childhood crush. It was fast paced which I enjoyed, and I loved hopping from race to race across the world. I also really enjoyed each character which is rare for me. Oh, and the fact that Matt was open about how he was experiencing trauma after the crash was great. It's always broody men who don't want to talk about things, so that was refreshing.
The only things that I felt were missing were more development in their relationship, as well as Chloe's confidence. I felt like they had a lot more to talk about/unpack but lust got in the way. I wanted to see a deeper emotional connection. I also think Matt became obsessed with her too quickly, and this could be fleshed out more. Further, I was really looking forward to Matt confronting her about being at his going away party, yet not going inside. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see that. Having Chloe be in such a huge position in the sport was great, I just wish she kicked into girl boss mode a little harder by the end. She still relied a lot on Matt for comfort, which kind of goes against the idea of her being a strong independent woman (as she often claims to be). Despite these things that I wished to see, I really enjoyed this book. (I also love when the characters can curse in a book, it's refreshing and makes things more realistic in my opinion).
I loved the epilogue! There's nothing better than a HEA. I knew they would be engaged, and I'm glad it happened. I will definitely be recommending this book to my friends, especially because they already love F1.

Okay, confession: I know absolutely nothing about Formula 1. Couldn’t tell you what DRS means or name more than one driver. So I went into Drive Me Crazy thinking I might be a little lost—but instead, I was completely hooked.
The heroine, Chloe, is trying to save a sinking F1 team while proving herself as one of the few female leaders in a male-dominated world. She’s smart, fierce, and constantly battling imposter syndrome in a field that rarely gives women a fair shot. I loved her ambition and how she refuses to shrink herself to make others comfortable. Then there’s Matt Warner, fallen-from-grace F1 golden boy, cocky in all the right ways, and Chloe’s childhood crush. Their chemistry? Immediate. Their banter? Sharp. Their emotional baggage? Whew. These two have a lot to unpack.
Some scenes felt a bit rushed or under developed—especially when it came to resolution and emotional fallout. I also wish we got more depth around Chloe and Matt’s past. We’re told they were close, but I didn’t fully feel the weight of that history in the present timeline. And the ending, while satisfying, leaned a little into fairy tale territory for my taste.

Okay guys… I think I may be an F1 fan, who knew! This is my first Lizzy Dent novel & it did NOT disappoint. I literally ate this book up & honestly read it way faster than I thought I would. I loooooove a childhood friends to lovers!! Also loved that Chloe was a bad ass woman breaking the glass ceiling and how Matt was so supportive of her! Only reason it’s not a 5 is because it could use a lil more umph, don’t know what or how but it was good, not great, ya know?
Thank you NetGalley, Lizzy Dent and Putnam for this ARC!!!! 🫶🏼

As someone who’s absolutely loved all of Lizzy Dent’s previous books, I was really looking forward to *Drive Me Crazy*. Unfortunately, this one didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The premise had so much potential, Formula 1, second-chance romance, strong female lead—but somehow the spark just wasn’t there. Chloe felt a bit one-dimensional at times, and the chemistry between her and Matt didn’t fully convince me. The pacing dragged in places, and while I usually adore Dent’s mix of wit and heart, here it felt a little forced. I’m still a big fan of Lizzy Dent and will definitely read whatever she writes next, but *Drive Me Crazy* left me a little disappointed.
Thanks to Netgalley and the author for the chance to read this book in advance.

I was beyond excited to get my hands on an early copy of *Drive Me Crazy*, and Lizzy Dent has once again delivered an absolute gem. I’ve read all her books and adored every one, but this one might just race to the top of my list! Set in the adrenaline-filled world of Formula 1, this story is the perfect blend of high-stakes competition and slow-burn romance. Chloe is a fierce, inspiring lead and Matt brings the perfect mix of vulnerability and charm. Their chemistry crackles from the start, and watching them navigate their complicated past and electric present had me completely hooked. With smart writing, emotional depth, and so much heart, *Drive Me Crazy* is pure joy from start to finish. Buckle up, you’re in for a fantastic ride!

This was such a fun read! The racing backdrop was a standout for me. This is my first read in this type of sport and I really enjoyed it! I want to read more F1 books!
Chloe was a strong lead. She is a female in a VERY male-dominated field. This is a great childhood friends-to-strangers-to-lovers trope with lots of emotional layers and tension.
I highly suggest grabbing this story if you love high stakes sports and beautiful romance.
Thanks to Putnam and NetGalley for the ARC.
