Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this eARC!

I have become such an F1 romance girlie, and this book is no exception. I blew through the whole book in one sitting. Chloe and Matt have all the tension you love to see, and the childhood backstory makes the eventual payoff even cuter.

As a follower of F1, this was so well-written, and Lizzy Dent made it very digestible for someone who doesn't follow F1 - I can even see this leading someone to want to check out a GP. This is my first time reading one of Lizzy's books and I definitely want to check out her others now!

Chloe Coleman becomes the F1 Principal for the underdog team. She has raced all her life, but now has fought her way into a male dominated sport in a leadership role. She must learn to trust her instincts and be confident in why she is there for the team to finally succeed.

The first thing the team owner does after hiring her is hire driver Matt Warner who has fallen from the top of the racing world after a traumatic racing accident. Chloe and Matt grew up together on the track and she had always had feelings for him before he went off to the F1 world and never looked back.

Together they navigate bringing their team from the bottom to the top and overcoming their fears along the way. This friends to enemies to lovers romance peaked my interest in the F1 world as I fell for the characters and their stories.

What a fun read! My love for sports romances has found a new sport and while I did not know a single thing about F1 going into this, I now want to become a fan. I liked our characters and all of the different dynamics but did find the ending rushed and wished some things were fleshed out a bit more.

Thanks to Lizzy Dent, Putnam, and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

3.5/5 stars, rounded down

This was a cute read! The plot was enjoyable and the female character is a boss (well in a more literal sense, she is a team principle). The FMC becomes more confident as the book progresses, and the MMC is mildly interesting but I appreciate his own growth as well. This was a quick read and if you happen to be curious about F1, racing, or how that topic could blend with romance, this is definitely the book for you! 1/5 spice level, semi-slow burn, and friends to strangers to enemies for a second to lovers. I think that there was a lot to cover and a lot of character development to happen but due to the pacing in the last half, I had wished the book was longer. I also had wished the FMC would have flaunted how good of a driver she was or had that explored more because it seemed to be her original dream.

Thank you to NetGalley and Putnam Publishing for the eARC!

3 ⭐️ and thank you to Putnam Publishing and NetGalley for granting me an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Drive Me Crazy is a F1 Racing sports romance book that I’m sure will speed into the hearts of many a motorist enthusiast. If you are into racing at all, this is the light hearted, easy read book for you.

It focuses on our FMC Chloe who has achieved a very hight the ranking role in the sport for a woman, and her childhood friend/unrequited love/ competitor Matt as they are put full throttle into a working relationship on the same team.

It was cute enough, but nothing that made me head over heels. I will say that I am personally not a fan of racing as a sport, and while the author clearly did her research to make it very detailed, I found myself heavily skimming those parts.

This will be released on January 6, 2026.

4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Drive Me Crazy is a delightful, if occasionally uneven, romance that delivers escapist charm and plenty of feel-good moments!
With a swoon-worthy European road trip, the classic fake-dating setup, and a slow burn enemies to lovers arc, this story has all the makings of a cozy romcom. 🏎️

While the chemistry between Chloe and Matt sometimes feels more implied than deeply felt, their banter and emotional growth still kept me turning the pages!!
The vivid travel settings and a strong female lead add to the appeal, even if I wished for more depth in the supporting cast and a slightly less tidy ending…

Perfect for fans of dual POV romance, forced proximity, and stories set in the fast-paced world of Formula 1. A fun, quick read with charm to spare!

First book I’ve read by this author and I truly enjoyed it. The characters are well defined and multi-layered. The book is well written and very engaging.

I love a good sports romance and when it’s centered in Formula 1? Yes please.

Matt Warner was the top of his game in F1 until a fiery crash left his teammate seriously injured and stripped away his confidence. Chloe Coleman has finally broken into the boys club earning her shot as the first female team principle in F1. Yes it’s for probably the worst team on the circuit but she’s determined to turn the team around. Sparks fly (good and bad) when Matt ends up racing for Chloe, his childhood friend. He’s desperately in need of a comeback and she needs to prove that she’s not just a PR stunt.

It was a cute, quick read. Perfect for a summer by the pool (or when you’re having withdrawals in the off season! ) Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book.

This book is such a quick read, and overall a great time. I love how our female main character grows throughout the book and starts being confident in her work. I loved her being a team principal to an F1, as it’s somewhere where women are not representing currently. A huge thank you to Netgalley for this one, and to the publisher!

These characters felt very unbelievable for me but I can certainly appreciate the premise! I learned a lot about F1 and did enjoy seeing the way the team bonded.

I loved Lizzy Dent’s novel ‘Just One Taste’, and was so excited to receive the ARC for her newest novel, ‘Drive Me Crazy’. The author has a beautiful writing style that flows and is so easy to read.

Read if you love:
*** Sports romance
*** Dual POV
*** Childhood crush
*** Strong female lead

Set in the world of Formula 1, we follow Chloe and Matt as they try to cement their spots in the fast paced realm of racing. Chloe is a badass female principle, and Matt is trying to revive his failing racing career.

I enjoyed this one! I would have loved if the romance had a little more time to stengthen between the leads, but all and all, I had fun reading.

Thank you to Putnam Books and Netgalley for the ARC of this novel; all opinions are my own.

This f1 girlie ATE this book up! I loved the world (obviously), all the mentions of real f1 drivers (hello EIGHT time world champion Lewis Hamilton!), and the banter between the main characters. The second-chance-ish trope worked well here. Will recommend to all my sports romance loving friends.

I'm not a racer girl or a F1 type girl but this was pretty good and cute! I thought it was cozy and very well thought out.

This book was excellent. I am a fan of Formula 1 and this had enough information about it to be an excellent F1 romance novel. It had the spice to be romance and the technical sides of the cars for F1. I loved the dynamic of Chloe and Matt and the history they had was so good. Very boy and girl next door vibes but with racing and competition! Great read if you want something new that’s spicy, a romance lover, or a fan of F1 and is looking for something not as serious as the sport itself.

This was such a feel good book! I know nothing about Formula 1 racing but it was fun getting an introduction to the sport through Chloe and Matt’s story. While there’s a satisfying forced proximity and slow burn romance, there is also an exciting story of an underdog misfit team learning to work together and trust each other. I was just as invested in the racing as I was in Chloe and Matt’s relationship! I thought that there was just as much writing about the goings on of the sport as there was of the romance, which I enjoyed. Chloe lacking confidence in her new job as team principal and Matt trying to break through mentally after his crash are such relevant and relatable struggles. The book begins with Chloe, thrust into a press conference, and I struggled to figure out what was happening and who was who, but after a couple of chapters I was rooting for Chloe and Matt, individually and as a couple!

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to ARC read in exchange for an honest review!

First off, LOOK HOW CUTE THE COVER IS!!

Second, I absolutely loved this book (for the most part). The childhood best friends to coworkers, to helping each other succeed ughh so good. The crushes from childhood coming back up as adults, and the tension. Yesss the tension was so good. And the spice scenes were to die for!

I am also a sucker for cute non-cliche nicknames, and this book delivered!

Overall, I enjoyed the spice, and the topics discussed in the book! I think this was a refreshingly unique take on a sports romance. There was character development, with good imposter syndrome rep.

Buuuuut it did get tiring at a certain point. I loved the dialogue and style of writing, but there were points where I wished there was something more in the book. I wanted less immaturity and more growth as we got farther along. I appreciated the HEA, but it felt a little rushed.

If you’re looking for a fun sports romance with “friends to strangers to coworkers to (secret) lovers” vibes this one is for you!

Drive Me Crazy by Lizzy Dent is a fast-paced romance set in the high-stakes world of Formula 1 racing. It follows Chloe Coleman, one of the first female team principals in F1, and Matt Warner, a fallen star driver looking for a comeback. As they work together to save their careers and team, sparks fly—on and off the track.

I enjoyed the dual POV, as Dent does a great job of giving each character a distinct voice. Chloe's imposter syndrome and Matt’s struggle to reclaim his career were both relatable. Their chemistry was engaging, but the romance felt a bit rushed, and the more intimate scenes lacked the emotional depth I was hoping for.

Dent clearly knows her F1, and while I appreciated the authentic atmosphere, I would have liked to see more behind-the-scenes details about team management. Some plot points, like Matt’s trauma over a past crash and the fallout from a negative news piece, felt underdeveloped, leaving some emotional beats unaddressed.

On the plus side, there’s no third-act breakup, and the happy ending felt earned despite some of the pacing issues. Overall, Drive Me Crazy is a fun, light read with a unique setting, perfect for those looking for a quick, sweet romance with a dash of sports drama.

I haven't read many F1 books, so I'm not super familiar, but this one was a lot of fun! I was hooked pretty quickly and I finished it in about 2 days, so it's a short read. It was also pretty easy to keep track of the timeline and how things were happening, especially as a novice to F1. Chloe and Matt were a fun couple, and the tension between them was pretty compelling, but I didn't love the "will they, won't they" feel of it. I wanted a decision to be made, but that was just me being impatient.

I still don't know how to feel about Barry as a character. Do I like him? Do I think he sucks as the owner of an F1 team? Is he still a misogynist? I hate that he didn't have faith in Chloe, and to me it still felt like he didn't at the end, but he's only saying he does because of Matt. I guess I just have mixed feelings about Barry as a whole. All in all, the romance and the story was fun! I'd recommend it if you've never dipped your toe in F1 and want a fun romance.

Also I hope she fired that strategist and Jack gets reamed in the newspapers/magazines as a slimy, unethical reporter.

When Chloe is made team principle of a failing F1 team, she makes it her mission to do whatever it takes to pull them out of the trenches and into the championship fight. But then her plan is disrupted by Matt, her childhood crush and a front-of-the-pack driver that has been struggling to keep himself in the fight too. When old feelings arise throughout the season, Chloe and Matt must decide what is more important to them: team orders or their own race.

I really enjoy F1 romances that talk about a world in which women play a more prominent role in the pinnacle of motorsport. It might be unrealistic due to the current state of the sport, but a girl can dream right?
