I wish I would have known the tv show was a trilogy of books first. It is definitely one of my favorite shows, and just knowing how much I prefer books, I would have ate that up. Just like I ate this up. Just soooo good!

Ok - I have seen the television show but not read the books so I maybe am a little confused and didn’t love this as much as I wished HOWEVER it felt like a warm
Hug to have these ladies back in my life!!! It’s a good story, a quick read and I would be loath to without them! Enjoyed it all the same!

I won't lie this one didn't really do it for me. It felt like two different stories that didn't totally go together. The first half was definitely better. It was fun to see Villanelle's pov and this part of the story had a similar vibe to the first book in that Villanelle or Eve is looking for the other. It also had some good classic spy novel story lines. It was super quick to read and then the second half was a little slower and didn't have the same umph with the two of them together. I will concede that I didn't read the third book in the series so I missed the part where Eve and Villanelle became a couple, but still it didn't seem to be as fun of a story as the first book in the series.

Thank you to the author and publisher for allowing me an ARC via NetGalley! This has in no way influenced my opinion and the opinions below are my own.

This book was the perfect little break I needed from fantasy books. I’ve religiously watched the series multiple times over because I just love the intrigue and excitement of it, so you can imagine how happy I was to see the approval email for this!
Luke is incredibly good at describing complex emotions. The little glimpse into Oxana and Eve’s minds with the internal monologue is so incredible because it explains people the character is feeling and why they feel that way. I think this is such a good way to portray human emotion because it seems very genuine and I find that this really makes the characters feel human. There was a good amount of dry humour in this and there were a few times I cackled (the “plus size rat” was my favourite part).
One of the best things Luke does is providing the perfect amount of context without making things too complicated. It’s easy to follow along with the book and the pacing is great, so it was really hard to put this book down hence why I finished it in 24 hours!
I’m so excited for more stories about Eve and Oxana, as I can’t help but find myself intoxicated by their dynamic. Oxana is so complex and it’s so easy for the reader to connect with her and understand her. She is also an icon and I’d love to be as outgoing and fearless as her!

Rating: 5/5 stars (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)

This book takes place a few days after “Endgame,” and we see how Eve and Oxana get a chance at a normal life—no assassins, Twelve, or police. But if everything were that easy, where would the fun be?

What I enjoyed the most about this book was how fast it was to read. The fact that there is a first and a second part, which could have been books on their own, made the action more dynamic. I enjoyed the new characters, although I feel like the characters were not acting like themselves, including Eve and Oxana, in some parts of the book and that made me disconnect, their minds change in a split of a second and that can confuse me as a reader, as I don’t quite understand how an obsession, for example, can disappear and be substitute this quickly.

To conclude, having read the ending, I hope to be able to read the next book (I hope there is one) because I feel like there are many questions to be resolved, and I am curious to see their outcome.

Another great book in the series.

I found this harder to get into because we have all seen the show and the publicity and when I read the last books I hadn’t.
The story is razor sharp and Oxana and Eve are still the hugely flawed wonderful characters we will return to.

I hope very much there are more to come as I’ve started to read the earlier ones off the back of reading this.

Review of ‘Killing Eve : Resurrection’ by Luke Jennings, due to be published on 2 June 2025 by Boldwood Books.

As a lover of the TV series based on Luke’s Killing Eve books, I enjoyed reading the next chapter in the Eve and Oxana/Villanelle story. The characters are easy to get to grips with, when you know who they are and the backstory.

I read this in one go, I was so engrossed in the story.

With plenty of the characters we know and new ones that may or may not be as they seem, the ending had a twist that I didn’t see coming.

Recommended read.

"Pre-order the Brand New novel in Luke Jennings's smash hit Killing Eve series. Buckle up - Villanelle and Eve are back!

I haven't kept her safe. Someone's taken her.

It goes without saying that when I find out who that is, I'll kill them.

Ex-MI6 officer Eve Polastri and assassin Oxana Vorontsova are living off grid in Russia. Their existence is pinched and drab; both know how close they came to mutual destruction.

Oxana is approached by the Twelve. Frustrated by inaction, hungry for her old life, she allows herself to be brought in from the cold. Then she finds Eve gone, taken from her by those who think she still belongs to them.

And so Villanelle wakes, and a new game begins.

Villanelle plays her part with lethal skill, indulging the monster that has for too long been caged. As the hunt for Eve takes her from St. Petersburg to Paris and a final reckoning in London, old and new enemies surface. Soon both women are drawn back into the shadowlands of political intrigue and murder.

Villanelle and Eve are back! The eagerly anticipated next installment of this cult series, and basis for the BAFTA-winning Killing Eve TV series, will not disappoint."

Yes! This will not disappoint. Unlike season four. Scratch that. There was no season four. Villanelle and Eve forever!

I watched this on dvd, so was delighted to get the opportunity to read the book on netgalley. The characters, especially Oxana, are thinking a lot in the book, which is something I did not find in the dvd, obviously, and I found that I appreciated this revealing of thoughts in the novel. There was still tension in the novel, and a fine story. Highly recommended and the book shows aspects that are not apparent in the dvd, although both novel and dvd are excellent.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the eARC. All opinions are my own
Unfortunately for me, this was the last book in a 4 book series and I hadn't read the first three. The writing was good and the story interesting but I spent a large portion of The book confused. I think that if you read the first books, you would really enjoy this.

“Killing Eve: Resurrection” is book four in this series by Luke Jennings. This is a series I’ve heard about only because someone follows the author via his substack site. I subsequently learned that this is also was/is a TV series. Having never read or watched the series before, I found myself greatly confused for a large chunk of the beginning of this book. I would say that if you like this series (book), this would be a great addition because it’s from the viewpoint of Villanelle. If like me you needed to do a lot of online research into what happened previously, you might find it interesting - or you might decide to binge watch the TV series and then read the books. Didn’t work for me, but I did do a crash course of catching up.
