I was torn between 2 and 3 stars on this one. I went into this one knowing nothing of the author, and was intrigued by the title. I think the author writes well and there was some interesting background on evolution and primitive societies. I did genuinely learn something from this book. But this guy really comes off as a jerk touting right-wing beliefs in the name of science. And he seems very in favor of state-sponsored religion, but also came off as an atheist. The narrator was good, with a clear authoritative voice.
