I think I might have liked this better than the first one which… didn’t seem possible but here we are.
I would say this story is much more romance centric than the first one. The first one was a fun ghost story with romance mixed in but this book… this was Tristan and Sophie’s story from the first moment.
Their enemies to lovers trajectory was absolutely perfect and well done, especially with their initial, early chemistry and flirting. Tristan was just… god he was so sweet and wonderful and considerate and loving and not at all who he could have been given his background.
I really appreciate that DeLuca makes the town its own character. There are ghosts and they have personalities. The town has History. The people there are so well fleshed out even if we only get glimpses of them. Cassie and Nick were the couple from book one and they didn’t disappear into the background for this story. They were there and present in believable ways without dominating the story.
Sophie I just wanted to cuddle. The woman was having such an identity crisis and was trying so hard to figure out where she fit in, even in this tiny town she’d spent her whole life in.
And the spice was PERFECT. I felt like Nick and Cassie needed more but Tristan and Sophie delivered. It wasn’t anything crazy but it fit so well into their story.
Honestly I just loved this story. I love Boneyard Keys and I really hope we get more romances in this town (like Libby or Jo. Maybe Theo and Joe? Since apparently he’s not getting with Sophie like we all thought. 😂)

I received a free advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. My thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley.
Okay, so I have to start by saying that I love Jen DeLuca and I love Boneyard Key. I started off with [book:Well Met|43189874], naturally, as a Ren Faire goer myself and was quickly transformed into a huge DeLuca fan that will try anything she writes. [book:Haunted Ever After|202102032] delighted me, so I was incredibly excited to have my request for this one accepted.
I love this little town. I love the characters. DeLuca has a knack for writing a whole slew of characters that I really enjoy which isn't an easy task with me. Generally, I want to read series that stick with the same main characters and I lose interest when they shift around to side characters, but that is not the case with DeLuca's characters.
This book was a sweet, slow burn and wasn't very explicit at all. There were a few scenes that were described, but not overly so and they could easily be skipped if that's not to your taste. I really enjoyed the pace and it felt like a natural progression for a romance rather than feeling forced or rushed.
You need not have read the first book to enjoy this one, but I highly recommend it. There are quite a few references that will have so much more depth if you read them in order. But DeLuca does a good job of leaving implications and context around along the way so that a brand new reader won't feel overly lost or confused.
Overall, a solid 4.5 stars on this one for me. Gimme the next one!

I really wanted to like this one because I absolutely loved the first one! But 30% into the book...and I can't say I'm hooked. I love being back in Boneyard Key! I'd love to get some fried chicken from Tony and get coffee at Nick's place, crash the Love Island viewing party, but overall I'm just not drawn in 😢
Thank you, Netgalley, for the opportunity to read this ARC!!

I was happy to return to Boneyard Key, but didn't honestly love this book. The characters didn't really have much tension or chemistry, they just kinda fell together and I can't see their relationship lasting beyond the book. I also missed the inclusion of ghost characters that the first book featured. This was lacking in this installment and was missed. There were also some strange comments about the fmc being "childlike" during the romantic scenes that really didn't sit right with me and felt creepy.

Thank you to Berkley Romance & Netgalley for the eARC
4 stars!!
First off, I was so excited to go back to the city of Boneyard Key! The author did such an amazing job at creating the cutest & coziest beach town. I love the setting so much and I love how we got to read about some familiar faces (Sarah Hawkins, ily!)
This book follows Sophie & Tristan and while they meet on good terms and appear to hit it off, things quickly take a turn when Sophie finds out Tristan is in Boneyard Key to start a ghost tour business also. I really enjoyed the rivals to lovers trope in this!! I thought their chemistry was so good and I loved the tension between them. I was obviously rooting for Sophie to be the top ghost tour the whole time! I did end up really loving Tristan though, and I thought the ending was so perfect!!
Definitely recommend picking this one up this fall for a cozy paranormal romance read!!

What happened to Theo? I fully requested this for that romance. I'm not a big fan of this "enemies" to lovers situation. Tristan honestly is kind of horrible. Sophie and this town deserve better. Also tired of love interests with green eyes.

This was a great addition to this series and I really loved the enemies to lovers trope. I'll definitely be reading more from DeLuca in the future!

Cute The setup is great with rival ghost tours in a quirky, haunted Florida town was especially appealing since I now lie in Orlando. liked Sophie’s quiet, nerdy pride in doing things “right.” But the romance… kinda fizzled for me. Tristan had potential, but I never fully bought into their chemistry. The pacing dragged in parts, and while I liked the paranormal touches, the ghosts didn’t feel as essential this time around.
Still, there’s charm here. DeLuca knows how to create cozy, community-focused stories, and the hurricane subplot added some tension but if you lived here, you'd know that hurricanes aren't a big deal in orlando.
But this is totally great light paranormal book but I’m hoping book three brings back a little more magic. 👻📚

This sequel to Haunted Ever After was such a fun ride! I loved the push and pull between the main characters—their chemistry was undeniable, and the way their feelings slowly broke through the tension had me hooked. I really felt for both of them: one trying to hold down their hometown turf, the other desperate to prove themselves to dear old dad.
It was such a treat to revisit Nick and Cassie, and of course, Sarah and her iconic fridge words. The mix of charming romance, light paranormal mischief, and that cozy small-town vibe made this the perfect escape. You slip right into the story and feel like part of the gang—ghosts and all.

This book was really really cute. It also was pretty unique. It focused on Sophie and Tristian and their rival ghost tour business in a small tourist town in Florida. I love the town and how everyone comes together through out this book. I would definitely recommend this book to someone who wants a cozy and comforting romance book.

I REALLY love this little ghost town! The characters that Jen has created that warm my heart. They love their town and their ghosts and the history and it just shines through the pages. Seeing how much Sophie LOVES Boneyard Key was honestly so sweet. She always felt left behind and like she was never enough but the town loved her just as much as she loved it.
I liked Sophie and Tristian! The rivals to lovers worked for me! Them competing over ghost tours was fun. I really liked seeing how much was riding in it for both of them and they cared about it for different reasons! They were also cute and fun and their banter was good! Seeing them fall slowly but surely in love was so sweet! I really loved just the fact that they found each other and found someone who was really able to see them in the way that they needed the most! I didn’t always feel like they had a lot of romantic chemistry on page? It sometimes felt like it came out of nowhere? It could have just been the pacing or the timeline?? I still liked them together though?!
Thanks to Berkley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!!

Ghost Business is a lovely return to Boneyard Key with its kitschy quirks and lovable affinity for the paranormal comparable to Salem. But this time the flames of the narrative are a bit muted and need a little more fanning. Nevertheless, this still is such a fun Halloween/autumn read that many readers will naturally pick up this fall.
Sophie is Boneyard Key's ghost tour pioneer crisscrossing the town sharing the tales and stories of the souls that lived in the town and made a mark. But now she has competition. Tristan enters the town with plans of opening a branch of his ghost tour company "Ghouls Night Out". Both tours center on entirely different content, one focused on history and the other on jokes and they compete to be the only operating ghost tour in the town. Enemies to lovers anyone?
Nonetheless, the charm of small towns are always comforting (I don't know why but I always think of Mystic Falls). I can't wait for the third installment and for journeys in Boneyard Key to continue.
My thanks to Berkley Publishing for the digital arc!

I loved DeLuca's Well Met series and overall liked the first book in this current Boneyard Key series, so I was happy to get a copy of the next Boneyard Key ARC. I liked returning to this Florida tourist town that is literally haunted, and I found it interesting that ghosts themselves actually played a way smaller role in this book than in the first. If I'm remembering that one correctly, each of the two main characters had a pretty significant ghost companion. In this one, our main characters are two competing ghost tour leaders. Sophie has been in Boneyard Key most of her life and has been offering historically (and supernaturally) accurate ghost tours for six years, mostly handled through casual word of mouth among tourists. She cares deeply about the town and its history, and has worked hard on her tour. So when a cute new tourist comes to town to launch a new location for his ghost tour company (Ghouls Night Out, which is *chef's kiss*), Sophie takes it pretty personally - especially when she realizes that all of his lore is made up, which she takes personally. Unfortunately she's super attracted to him, and the feeling is mutual, but Sophie is a lifer in Boneyard Key and Tristan is a short-timer, and since he's trying to run her out of business (to prove to his finance bro father that he can make this passion project work as a business), it seems like that's that. But then there's a hurricane and Tristan is totally ignorant to the danger and he happens to be living next door to Sophie and she takes pity on them, and one thing leads to another... I did enjoy this overall, but something was missing for me in terms of chemistry between Sophie and Tristan. I think most of it was the fact that Tristan is literally trying to run Sophie out of business (I mean, he has his reasons, but that's still a pretty big obstacle). I did eventually buy into the spark between them, but it took a while. Fortunately, I liked the rest of the story and enjoyed revisiting this quirky haunted town.

Ghost Business was pure romantic fun. From the quirky charm of Boneyard Key to the banter-filled rivalry between ghost tour guides Sophie and Tristan, this story had all the ingredients of a perfect summer romance. The premise was clever, the pacing was brisk, and the chemistry between the leads sizzled from their very first clash.
Sophie was smart, passionate, and deeply rooted in her spooky hometown. Tristan, with his big-business background and surprisingly soft heart, was the perfect foil. Watching them go from competitors to collaborators was delightful. Their dynamic sparkled with tension, humor, and unexpected tenderness.
DeLuca also brought the setting to life. The local legends, ghost stories, and small-town quirks added a layer of cozy magic that made me want to book my own tour of Boneyard Key. The romance was satisfying, the emotional beats landed, and the ending left me feeling so happy.
This book felt like a rom-com written on a moonlit night with a ghost story in the air and a kiss just around the corner. I loved every second of it.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

While I enjoyed the setting and tropes, I had a hard time with the romance. i didn't enjoy the pacing and the rivalry didn't feel right to me. I remember loving the first book and I will be excited to continue the series if more books are coming to it!

Thanks to netgalley and publishers for this ARC!
This was cute, silly, and fun! While I was expecting a romance with Theo (my only qualm), I had so much fun reading about these characters. The town in these novels is so cozy and cute, and the author does such a fantastic job making you love the setting and the people. Absolutely lovely!

Thank you, NetGalley and Berkley, for the ARC of this book. Jen DeLuca ALWAYS delivers! Ghost Business is the second in her Boneyard Key series and just as fun, sexy, and delightful as the first, Haunted Ever After. I loved returning to this quirky, ghostly, small town community along the Gulf of Mexico. I also appreciated having a MMC who is openly bi and having that reveal not be a major plot point.
Is Boneyard Key big enough for two different ghost tours running on the same nights? Neither Sophie, the original historically accurate tour guide, nor Tristan, the newbie, all made up for the fun of it but trying to actually run a business tour guide, think so. So they are competitors and decide only the best at the end of the season will remain. The problem, of course, it their undeniable mutual attraction.
Ghost Business just made me smile, and laugh, and feel good whenever I picked it up to read. That alone makes it a winner for me. But of course, it is also well written with fully developed characters and reminiscent of our favorite enemies to lovers trope without feeling like it's been done before.
Can't wait for the third in the series!

This was an adorable romance between two people running rival ghost tours. I loved the storyline in theory, the side characters were solid, and I loved the town.
The only thing I didn’t like about this book, unfortunately, was the romance between Sophie and Tristan. The characters just felt very 2 dimensional to me. I felt more from Sarah and her magnets.
I’d still recommend it if you want a fun, unique, fluffy read!

Happy to visit this little Florida town again. Not as good as Haunted Ever After but still a fun time to be had. And I do love enemies-to-lovers. Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC

I was glad to be back in Boneyard Keys for a fun enemies to lovers romance! DeLuca does a wonderful job of putting you in the town and making you feel like you're a local. I love how empowering the female characters are and how their friendship is portrayed throughout the story. A fun cozy paranormal romance that could be read year round!
