This series is shaping up to go all over the place - first book was about breaking pack assumptions and finding balance in pack leadership (even <gasp> sharing it!) and now we’ve got super secret evil government mind control!

Anders has just stepped into the role of pack guardian and had a bit of a mess to contend with. The previous pack leadership made sure nobody trusted anybody else, so he has been putting his robotic, analytical mind to good use, detectiving out weaknesses, strengths and ultimately making the pack more stable. He also used his military training to install security throughout the town, alerting him to a newcomer one night.

Etta believes she is just an ordinary reporter, assigned to a middle of nowhere town, but when she stops a diner and an imaginary record scratches upon her arrival it is clear she’s walked into something. Who knew they were right to be suspicious of her? Turns out she’s being plagued by headaches and some distant memories which all comes to a head when Anders confronts her. Oh, and he recognized that they are mates, even though she doesn’t appear to know she’s a shifter of any sort.

There is a lot of hidden stuff, big reveals, but I won’t spoil all of that. Suffice it to say, there is a bigger plot afoot which I guess we will address fully in the coming installments. For Anders and Etta, they manage to beat the odds here and find their HEA. This book had much more of a spy thriller or sci-fi/futuristic feel than previous ones.

"Fate had given him a mate who needed his protection more than anyone ever had."

Wow! This book had a great plot to it, unique and full of action and drama. Anders has always been such a calm, cool tactician. After years in the Special Forces and a natural protector, he's the ideal choice as the new lead Guardian for the pack. He's the type that will always put pack and duty before himself and has no time to worry about having any type of a personal life. The last thing he expected was to have his mate show up unexpectedly.

Poor Etta. She's such a nice woman who has no idea who she really is. It was so interesting watching her discover her real self, that has been hidden and suppressed for almost her entire life. She was so brave and resourceful.

Anders and Etta made a wonderful couple. There relationship development was slow, despite being fated, and moving to watch. Etta brings out ever single protective instinct in Anders and I loved the changes she had over him.

While the love story between Anders and Etta is complete, we now have a great enemy still out there. I'm guessing this will become a series arc and it's an interesting and fascinating one. Conall is up next with a suprising twist I never saw coming and I can't wait to see what happens with him. This series is starting to become one of Margo's best and I plan to read every book.

Great Shifter romance, this is Anders and Etta’s story, when Etta is assigned to a small newspaper office in a small town, little does she know that all is not what it appears to be, including herself!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you for allowing me to review

I love me a shifter romance and this one was enjoyable. I hope some of the other pack members get their own books as well I'm a sucker for good side characters and this book definitely has that.

Anders by Margo Bond Collins, was a great shifter romance! This was a first by this author and I absolutely loved it! I've been reading a lot of shifter romances lately but this one put a whole new spin on things!
We first meet Etta who came to a new town to reopen a newspaper and her senses started coming to life. Then came Anders, wow he was the ultimate protector of not only his Pack but Etta as well.
There were so many twist and turns in the book, I can't wait to read the next one on the series. I'm definitely going to go back and read book one. Thank you ##netgalley for allowing me to give a honest review.

This is my first time reading this author, and I hadn't read the first book about Malcolm and his mate, Larissa, but it in no way took away from the story. I will say that there is talk about the betrayal that happened in book one, but it doesn't interfere with the story of book 2, which focuses on Anders and his mate, Etta.

I was entralled by the two main characters in this story. Anders, a newly appointed guardian in his pack...military trained and focused on helping the pack trust in him, as the betrayal in book one had to do with the past guardian for the pack. He didn't want a mate, didn't require one, but he finds his perfect match in the newcomer Etta.

Their story was packed with intense challenges, and for Etta, it was about learning who she was. Margo Bond Collins gave you the sweet, slow-paced love story of two mates finding their way to happily ever after.

I'm eager for the next book in the series, where I hope we get more insight into the challenges the pack will face in taking down the new threat.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kobo for this opportunity to read Anders ARC.

This was a pretty enjoyable shifter story. Etta and Anders, while mates, came from such vastly different backgrounds with experiences that were polar opposites. As the story unfolded from each perspective, it made the struggles Etta has faced so heartrending. From her parents being ripped away to her life being built on lies, she is lost but doesn't realize it at first. The town made her instinct wake up yet her re-introduction to being a wolf was harsh. The author at one points compares her to a spy which is true, her interviews far from standard and her observations different. While, all that is unfolding nearly unbeknownst to her, we are pulled along to witness her struggles and her denials even in the face of overwhelming evidence. From their differences, a relationship builds offering her stable ground and him the mate he claimed not to need. We were observing to this journey from pain on both parts to a perfect pairing. Speaking of perfect pairing, Larissa and Malcolm were lock step perfect for each other, in synch in so many ways. I found that comparison of the two couples a bit jarring and further proof of how much Etta had been robbed of. You truly wanted to cheer for her as she struggled to both accept the new normal and remember the very old. Anders was exactly the type of mate she needed, grounded and solid and willing to offer her stable ground.
It was a good book with so exciting challenges going on while love stood front and center and not just the love between a wolf and his mate. The story of pack life told both by the pack and by the notes Etta was unwittingly taking was key to the book and the series. Overall, I enjoyed it and suspect the characters in the story will be pack as there are more pack members in need of a story too.
Thanks to NetGalley and Kobo Originals for the opportunity to read this ARC
