I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to the author, the publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to privilege of being able to read this book!
It has been too long since I've devoured a book, and boy did I with this book! This takes the cake as the best boss romance I've ever read. I did not want to put this down, I literally fell asleep trying to finish the last 80 pages because I needed to know how it ended. Well this had smut (really really good smut) this had plot! An actual 100% totally believable plot at that too, and it flowed so beautifully! I loved the characters, especially the brothers. The brothers remind me of the boys from the Bachelor Pact series by Cissy Mecca but these are actual brothers and they're hilarious!
The only issue I had was the ending. I adored it, but it felt really rushed. If the last two-three pages were maybe 10-15 pages longer that would have been perfect! I didn't want their story to stop, I'm really hoping to see more of them in hopefully future installments in hopefully a new series. I'm honestly head over heels with this book, and I need more of these characters!
Thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart for creating a fantastic, fun, unputdownable book! I loved it!

Hot damn.
Vicki certainly knows how to write the hottest spice ever! Wow.
Arianna and Nathaniel had some epic chemistry. While their dynamic and situation wasn’t conducive for the start of a relationship, but it made for some great third act angst.
Thank you Vicki, Boldwood and Netgalley for an advanced copy. <3

I finished reading Owen through Netgalley recently and I was incredibly missing Nicolson's writing! Then, I remembered I had Breaking His Law to read. In terms of billionaire romances, VH Nicolson does it incredibly well as well as excelling in interconnected standalones. I loved watching Nathan and Ari grow as characters but I was initially skeptical of the age gap. I am Ari's age and I usually find age gaps creepy but not with this book! Even though their relationship started as a one night stand, their interactions, banter, and yearning for each other made this book worth it. I always feel like Nicolson ties up loose ends well in the plot. I can't wait to meet Max in the next book of the series.

Yum yum 😋 completely stuffed here!! I consumed this mouth watering Bossy Billionaire Romance ♥︎
Arianna (Ari) young independent & beautiful, she is battling with a few raw emotions, her past is still haunting her... simple right, seek revenge!!
Enter Nathan Hart ♥︎ well hubba hubba 🥵 A fine tailored, deliciously powerful, melt in the middle kinda guy!!
I loved the to hot to handle chemistry, the tension, the emotions, the found forbidden love... Oh & the spice was definitely spicing!!
Definitely a obsessive & satisfying romance.. I hope the rest of the Hart Brothers have their own journeys ♡
Nathan well & truly broke his law...
Thank you to VH Nicholson, Netgally & boldwood books for my ARC copy in return for my honest thoughts ♡

I loved this book and can’t wait for more in the series
The brothers and their relationship was represented so well in this story and really humanised Nathan’s character whilst giving us lol moments.
I enjoyed the buildup to the secret reveal and how the relationship between Arianna and Nathan developed with her caring do much for him whilst understanding his drive to work so hard. Her attempts to get him to relax were hilarious.
An engaging and satisfying romance for sure

Breaking His Law by VH Nicolson is an absolute MUST-READ!
I was hooked from the first page and completely obsessed by the end! A billionaire boss romance with a twist?? Yes please!
Spicy, emotional, intense—and everything I’ve come to love from VH Nicolson!
Arianna Donovan is out for revenge against the law firm that let her family's killer walk free... only to fall head over heels for the one man standing in her way…
Nathan Hart. Powerful. Brooding. Off-the-charts chemistry. And that gooey center? Swoon.
The prologue? My heart all but broke.
The plot? Addictive.
The tension? SCORCHING.
As someone who’s been a huge fan of VH Nicolson since I read the Triple Trouble series, I had NO DOUBT I’d love this one.
The emotional depth, the grief, the revenge... and still finding room for love? So beautifully written.
And the side characters??
Joseph = work BFF goals.
Nathan’s mom = adorable.
Nathan’s brothers = bring on their books!
5 stars.
One unforgettable story.
And I cannot WAIT to dive deeper into the Hart family world!

3.5 stars.
Breaking His Law is an entertaining story of a woman who sets out to seek revenge but ends up finding love instead. Billionaire lawyer Nathan falls first and hard, and there are plenty of steamy scenes.
Criticism: I found Arianna’s behavior to be somewhat immature for a person who is supposed to be 29 years old, and the writing voice made me feel like the story was set in England even though it’s set in San Francisco.

'Breaking His Law' by VH Nicolson plunges readers into an intriguing, forbidden love story full of suspense. Arianna, fueled by a need for the truth and revenge, sneaks into Hart Law, the company she holds responsible for destroying her world. Her carefully executed scheme to uncover their conspiracy soon goes awry when she comes face to face with Nathan Hart, the firm's undeniably handsome and mysterious leader.
What starts as one night of spontaneous, reckless passion with the "adversary" escalates into a fiery affair. Nathan, a man who does things his way and avoids commitment, is drawn irresistibly to Arianna's intellectual stature and capacity to push him. The attraction is intense, forging a deadly game of lust and deception. As Arianna risks everything in her quest for revenge, and Nathan sees his well-built walls shattering, readers are left guessing whether their forbidden romance will bring catastrophic exposure or a possibility of redemption. This boss-secretary, enemy-to-lovers theme guarantees a thrill-filled read with high emotional stakes.

VH Nicolson books are just so good and draw you in from the very first page and this one is no exception! Arianna is determined to get justice for events in her past and manages to get a job at Hart Law the firm who represented the man who tore her family apart. What she doesn’t count on is what happens when she meets Nathan Hart………. Although this is hot and steamy it also looks at so many different aspects of life. Family dynamics, revenge, secrets, workplace relationships and grief to name a few. I love the way that all these things weave through the story and how the story has so much depth. Easy on the eye male characters and strong females this is a must read is you like steamy romances with a gripping, engaging storyline. I also like how one of the authors other books is mentioned! Seriously can’t wait to read the next one! Thanks to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for the ARC.

Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Wow… I just finished Breaking His Law, and I’m still reeling from everything this book put me through—in the best way. VH Nicolson really knows how to write a romance that hits hard, pulls you in, and keeps you hooked until the very last page.
The story follows Arianna, who enters Hart Law with one goal: revenge. She wants justice for what happened in her past, and she’s determined to get it by digging through the firm’s secrets. But things take a turn when she crosses paths with Nathan Hart—brooding, powerful, completely off-limits… and absolutely magnetic. Their connection is instant and intense, and watching it evolve was such a rollercoaster. The tension between them? Unreal.
What I loved most was how layered both characters were. Arianna isn’t just strong—she’s smart, resourceful, and emotionally complex. And Nathan… well, he’s the kind of character you’re not supposed to fall for, but absolutely do. The way he slowly lets his guard down made every moment between them feel earned.
The plot has just the right amount of twists, the writing is sharp, and the emotional payoff? So satisfying. It’s steamy, yes—but also full of heart. If you love your romance with high stakes, strong female leads, and emotionally unavailable men who fall hard, this one’s for you.
This book gave me everything I look for in a romance, and then some. VH Nicolson is now firmly on my auto-read list.

First of all, that was such a spiceyyy first meet.
Andd the story progress to their everyday banter, flirt, resisting each other and I ate them up!!
Can I be honest here?? Their chemistry was spectacular. Even though Arianna has such a heartbreaking past, I’m really proud of her for being strong all the time.
You love workplace romance? Boss x employee? Billionaire? He falls hard and harder? She falls hard and harder? Look no further.
Thank you Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the eARC

The prologue of this book set an interesting tone of intrigue with this book. Just enough of a hook to keep you wanting to read just one more page. Ari was a strong fmc that put up with Nate- who was quite the bosshole. Their relationship was steamy and he was quite the golden retriever when it came to her. Hopefully this book leads to additional ones with his brothers - their group chats and brotherly love was hilarious.

I'm so excited to share that *Breaking His Law* by VH Nicholson is releasing on June 10th, and I had the delightful opportunity to read it early thanks to NetGalley! This boss X secretary romance is such a charming ride, and I can't get enough of it!
In this captivating story, our main female character unexpectedly finds herself working as the secretary to one of the top bosses at a law firm she’s determined to take down. The chemistry between them is electric! She tries her best to resist his allure, but how can you fight against a charming, workaholic boss? I found myself cheering for them even when I had to put the book down for a moment, hoping her big secret wouldn’t come out and spoil their blissful relationship. I just wanted them to enjoy their adorable honeymoon phase for a little while longer!
The tropes in this tale are so much fun:
- Grumpy x Sunshine
- Boss x Secretary
- Sweet Romance
- He Falls First
I absolutely can’t wait to dive back into this book! Plus, I’m really hoping the other brothers will get their own stories too. What a treat that would be!

First book in a new series by VH Nicolson
Nathan and Arianna was a delight to read as alway VH Nicolson knows how to hold your attention with writing style these two characters I connected with from from the start, the chemistry between them is electric from there first meeting not just sexual either.
Arianna story had me tearing up and Daniel hart dad of Nathan he broke my heart
If you love a billionaire romance work place romance then this is a book for you.
Can’t wait to see which brother is next
For me it a 5🌟 read 💓

This was a really addictive read and I feel this is her best book yet. I do like a billionaire romance and this one did not disappoint.
It was an immediate hook for me “Nathaniel” is one in a million, he fell hard and fast and Ari met a man she didn’t expect to find.
I loved how obsessed Nathan was and he knew Ari held all the power, although she didn’t know that. She’s got a traumatic past and is on a path of finding out lost secrets but doesn’t expect an offer she can’t resist.
I enjoyed Nathan’s brothers banter, there was humour and a lot of love and I can’t wait to read their stories in future books. Alongside romance and spicy scenes there is trauma and difficult family situations which were handled with compassion and care.
This is one romance I won’t forget, Nathan enters the top class of book boyfriends and fans will love this one.

One Liner: Insta lust, but the story gets better
Arianna wants revenge. She joins the law firm that represented her family’s killer to dig into their secrets and expose their cover-up. Of course, meeting Nathan Hart, head of the firm, puts a small spanner in her plans.
Nathan Hart doesn’t have time for commitments. However, when his one-night stand walks into the office, he is angry at the deception and excited to get to know her. The chemistry is evident, but what will the truth of her past do to him and their growing closeness?
The story comes in Ari and Nathan’s first-person POVs.
My Thoughts:
So, the premise makes it clear that the book will have insta lust and a third-act breakup. Since I was prepared for both, I enjoyed this spicy (4 peppers) read for what it was.
After a prologue from the past, we jump right into the central plot. There is a lot of internal dialogue, which serves the purpose of providing the backstory and maybe adding a bit of depth to the characters. Some of this gets repetitive, but it works in the context.
The dual POV is easy to track. Though there’s a mention under the chapter head, I didn’t always need to look at it to figure out whose POV it was. The voices were distinct enough.
The side characters, especially the brothers and the mother (and Joseph too!), were good. The three remaining brothers will get their own books (hopefully soon). They have definite personalities, so no confusion about who is who.
Despite the spice, the book gives us a few sweet/ adorable scenes. This slows down the whirlwind romance a little bit and establishes a deeper connection between the characters. And oh, this is an age-gap romance (he is 44, she is 29).
The third-act breakup is done well. It aligns with the central premise and gives a good conclusion. While a particular scene could have been a bit more detailed since it is crucial, the rest is decent. We get an epilogue, too!
I do wish the FMC’s backstory had more information. A few scenes with her family, etc., would have added more emotional depth to the narrative.
The dynamics between the Hart brothers are awesome, though. The family clearly loves each other. It adds an extra layer to the story and prevents it from being too shallow.
Goat yoga? Seriously! The kind of shit West does to traditional indigenous knowledge makes me want to puke all over the billion dollar industry. Not a minus point for the book since it only uses what’s already there in the society.
To summarize, Breaking His Law is a steady-paced spicy romance with banter, secrets, and drama. It should work well as a light beach read or a buffer between heavy books.
Thank you, NetGalley and Boldwood Books, for the eARC. This review is voluntary and contains my honest opinion about the book.

📚 BOOK REVIEW 📚
Breaking His Law - @vhnicolsonauthor
"He smells like poor choices and bad ideas"
"Keep your eyes on me, baby"
"You make me want to burn down the world for you, protect you, and never let you go"
"Nathan's golden girl"
@vhnicolsonauthor has a written an absolute corker of a book in "Breaking His Law" and created a brand new world for us to absorb ourselves in.
This is a well written Billionaire Boss romance with a twist that delivers on all aspects and it may just be the author's best work yet and I say that as someone that has devoured each and every one of her books. She has clearly researched her topics well and as with each book she writes I was hooked right from the start.
We get an excellent prologue which gives us a great insight to Arianna and why she is out for revenge on the Hart family. It sets the tone perfectly but also allows us to experience the loss along with her. These complex feelings were written so beautifully that you can't help feeling for Arianna. The battle of her emotions were detailed well and grief was still so raw. And although she was out for revenge, she was relatable and likeable and I wanted her to find peace.
Nathan Hart was exquisite. He was deliciously powerful with a gooey center that made him powerless when it came to Arianna. The chemistry between the two characters was scorching hot and I'm surprised my kindle didn't go on fire.
I liked how the author portrayed the revenge storyline well and showed that grief really was the motivator. But she also showed how happiness can exist in a world whilst still grieving. She expertly got the balance right with these emotions and I liked how Nathan also had sadness that he was experiencing. Both very different but written well.
I adored these two together and they were absolutely perfect. The push and pull and the tension especially in the first quarter of the book was immense. I just couldn't put it down and I had to see where the story was going. I really enjoyed all the details of the case as well.
The good news is that Nathan has 3 other brothers and so we can go back and visit this world again. It's easily another 5 star read.

Ari's family died in a car accident when she was 15 years old, but the man who hit them, on a head-on collision, walked away free.
Since she's been old enough, she's been looking into the case and questioning the corrupt system and if the lawyer was paid off; getting into the law firm to get to the archive records was easy, not falling in love with her boss, and the son of the man who represented the driver, is the hard part.
Nicholson writes a novel that gives danger vibes; in certain chapters, I was scared for her and didn't want Nathan to find out why she was really there, and I also loved a reference to a previous novel, which I thought was really cleverly mentioned.
At first, I definitely found Nathan to be an unlikeable character, but this was done on purpose, showing him as angry and arrogant, and that it was Ari who would be the one to ground him and bring out the softer side to him.
Nicholson always writes strong female characters who know how to stand up for themselves and who know how to get what they want, and this novel continues this.
This is a new author for me this year, and one I will easily pick up every time.

4, 5 stars
I absolutely loved this book !
Although it was a cliché and something that is repeated very often, the book somehow got under my skin and I enjoyed it from beginning to end. I liked both the main and secondary characters of this story, I hope they will get their own.
It's the first time I have the opportunity to read something by this author and I'm sure it won't be the last. The writing style is simple and effective, from the very beginning you are interested in the story and as for me, I enjoyed it and the book has all the best recommendations from me.
-----
Eyes closed, he rests his forehead against mine, his chest heaving frantically. “You do something to me.” His determined eyes snap open and connect with mine. “And there isn’t a damn thing you could say to keep me away from you. You make me want to burn down the world for you, protect you, and never let you go. I’ve never seen myself settling down before, but with you…” He stops himself from continuing. “Fuck…”
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this opportunity .

If you love enemies-to-lovers, office drama, and slow-burn tension with a side of revenge, then Breaking His Law needs to be on your TBR ASAP.
Arianna’s mission is simple: infiltrate Hart Law and destroy it from the inside. What she didn’t count on was falling for the man at the top—Nathan Hart. He’s powerful, cold, and completely off-limits… which of course makes their chemistry all the more explosive.
This book had me hooked from page one. The banter? Sharp. The tension? Deliciously unbearable. The romance? Spicy and emotional in all the right ways.
VH Nicolson really nails the morally grey MMC and strong, smart FMC dynamic. Plus, the secrets, twists, and forbidden vibes kept me turning the pages WAY past my bedtime.
If you’re into Ana Huang, Catharina Maura, or just love a good revenge romance with all the feels, this one is for you!
