I LOVED this book so much! It's a perfect length, the FMC Ari and MMC Nathan have amazing on page chemistry and while I really don't normally like the 2nd act break up/3rd act make up storyline - this one was so well done I ate it up!! Ari and Nathan meet and have a one night stand before Ari starts working for Nathan's company. Ari is looking to avenge her past (part of the storyline - no spoilers) and Nathan's company is in her sites. I loved watching how both of them went through their own growth arcs, able to admit they might be wrong and also be able to come out on the other side of the growth changed. We also get to meet Nathan's 3 Brothers and I can't wait to see their HEA's play out and hopefully we'll get to see Ari and Nathan in these future books as well. This is a new to me author and I'm grateful for the chance to read this as an ARC and I can't wait to read more of her stories - adding her entire backlist on to my TBR!

The sexual chemistry and the characters in this book will have you hooked from the very beginning.

Adrianna is out for revenge. She wants to hurt the law firm she believes helped get the man off that took her family away. Her plan is to get a job at their law firm and gain access to files that she hasn't been able to see before. What she doesn't plan on, is falling for one of the family member's in the process.

Adrianna and Nathan click from their first meeting all the way to the end. The chemistry and banter between them are electric. Their connection grows quickly, and soon Adrianna is forced to choose: does she go for love or go after the people who took her family away.

The only downside for me was the lack of a trigger warning regarding Parkinson’s disease. Nathan’s father struggles with it, and the depiction hit close to home as my own father has Parkinson’s in a very similar way. A heads-up would’ve been appreciated.

I love a great romance! And, the spice!!!! Whoa!

This was a great story with a grumpy billionaire that I really enjoyed. And, again, the spice is top tier! Highly recommend!

Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC for my honest review.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an ARC of this book.

This is the first book I've read from this author and it did not disappoint. I'm definitely gonna read more books from this author.

Nathan fell hard and fast for Arianna and he basically did everything he could to just make sure she was happy and thriving, from the minute he saw her he couldn't stop thinking about her and that's my favourite type of book boyfriend. Ariannas story is such a sad one but she is such a strong and caring character, I loved how soft Nathan was making her and when she realised she'd been lied to about the events of her family's passing was so sad.

This book is very steamy, emotional, funny(Nathan's brothers especially) and just a great read. I really hope we get more books from this series I need a book on all of Nathan's brothers! If you enjoy a book abkut a strong male and female lead that fall hard and fast definitely give this one a go

Breaking His Law pulled me in right from the start. Arianna and Nathan have this intense, slow-burn chemistry that had me hooked, it was full of tension, secrets, and just the right amount of angst. I loved how Arianna’s strength clashed with Nathan’s control in all the best ways. It’s sharp, emotional, and completely addictive. I couldn’t stop reading.

Sighhhhhh this was sooooo good. Thank youuuuuu Boldwood for sending me an advance copy. I absolutely love the surprise emails from you guys.

Nathan and Ari were just 🔥 UGH yes. The growth they both went through, the way they handled the challenges and learned from their mistakes.

Be still my heart.

It was great. Billionaires just do it better y’all.

This is the third book I’ve read by this author, and while the stories share some similarities, I’ve loved each one just the same. There's a great balance of drama and romance, making it a wonderfully heartwarming and easy read.

I fell in love with Arianna and Nathan right from the beginning, and Nathan’s family completely won me over. If you’re in the mood for a fast-paced, feel-good story, this is the perfect pick.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

V. H. Nicolson was a new author to me. But the blurb and the cover on Netgalley made me request it. And boy, it was good!

Arianna has made it her life’s mission to bring down the lawyer and the law firm who where responsible for the aquitting of her family’s murderer. You can feel the hatred of Arianna coming from the pages. She uses Nathan to get closer to her target. But Nathan and his father’s firm are nothing like Arianna had thought they would be.

The author takes you on a journey where you can feel the conflict rising in Arianna. Alternating between Arianna’s and Nathan’s POV, you become stuck between the two characters. Wonderfully done! I’ll keep an eye out for more books from V.H. Nicolson. Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

Breaking His Law is an enemies to lovers story, although, our hero doesn't actually realise that heroine Ari has an issue with him and his family it isn't an obvious enemies to lovers story.
I really enjoyed following their relationship and seeing the changes that came about as they spent more time together. Ari discovered that her preconceptions about Nathan and his family just weren't true. Nathan, who works far too much, slowly allows other things into his life and to get a much better balance.
There was one little niggle towards the end of the book. I don't want to give any spoilers, but something happens that is presented almost as an accident, but given the thoughts that Ari has slightly earlier, it's clear that it isn't.
This was still a great read and I'd be very keen to read more from this author and possibly about Nathan's brothers in the future.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and given voluntarily.

I read this book in just one day. And I knew what would happen... 😖 No, not with the storyline. But as soon as I finish the book, I'll 😭 and be angry that I finished it. I freaking knew it. I don't want Vicki's books to be finished. Never! Why can they just be like telenovelas? They never end 😁

Nathan, OMG, Nathan 🥰 Can a man be better than him? Not sure. He is a grumpy workaholic billionaire lawyer. But as grumpy as he is, so much heart he has 🩷 He isn't the ruthless kind of lawyer. He is a good one. He fights for the people who deserve to fight for. So does Hart Law in general. That's Nathan and his three brothers. And I'm pretty sure they are as wonderful as he is. At least that's what they appear like to be in this book. The four are so funny with each other. And the scene with Max and Ari's 🩲 🤣🙈
And even their mother loves to participate in their funny jokes. Like the one with the 🐐💩🤣🤣🤣

The chemistry between Ari and Nathan is 💥🔥💥🔥💥 They fit so perfectly together. If only there wasn't that one thing between them. The thing that Ari wants, revenge.
And yes, I can understand her wish for revenge. I felt so sorry for what happened to her 😭

Ari is such a strong woman. So so so so strong. Especially after what happened to her when she was 15. Losing your whole family is very dramatic. But she made it. She became a wonderful woman. I'm sure her parents would be proud of her 🩷
And even though Ari isn't interested in "older men" 😉 she fell for Nathan 😁 But who wouldn't fall for him? He is 🔥 and 🔥 and 🔥🥵
And he is a bit dominant. I mean, what good lawyer who has to be strong in court, isn't? He knows what he wants and all... 😉

I'm trying to stay calm now, even so I'm very needy for the other 3 Hart brothers 😎

The book follows Arianna, a woman seeking revenge on the person she thinks should be held accountable over what happened after her family’s death. And Nathan, a grumpy billionaire playboy, who also happens to be the son of the man she is seeking revenge on. Ari and Nathan have some major chemistry from the get go even though they both seemed reluctant to let those feelings show. Once they did it was clear to see they are perfect for each other. This story has some very funny inner dialogue scenes and one hilarious incident with a goat! Oh, and I can’t wait to read about the rest of the hart brothers. I have a feeling they are going to be trouble!

Arianna arrives at Hart Law with a clear goal: to uncover the truth and hold the firm accountable for a past trauma that shattered her life. However, her carefully laid plans are thrown into disarray when she encounters Nathan Hart, the firm’s alluring and formidable leader. Their instant, intense connection complicates everything, leading to a one-night stand that neither expected-and that neither can forget. dangerous game of power, passion, and secrets unfolds in the office and beyond. This book delivers a compelling blend of revenge-driven drama and steamy workplace romance that kept me hooked from start to finish.

I went in expecting a typical billionaire-enemies-to-lovers trope, but this story is so much more layered. Arianna’s internal battle between revenge and unexpected feelings is raw and real, making it raw and authentic. Nathan’s complex rules and the way Arianna challenges him add depth and heat to the story.

Nathan’s character is equally well-drawn, with his own vulnerabilities hidden behind his confident exterior. The chemistry between them is palpable, and the tension-both professional and personal-adds layers to the narrative.

If you love steamy office romances with a twist of suspense and emotional grit, this book is your next must-read!

Nathan and Arianna
Great start to a series! Ari suffered a tragic accident when she was younger and she wants Justice. She has planned for years and now the time has come to put those plans into action. She gets hired on at Hart Law, now she just needs to find what she’s looking for. But things might not go quite as planned.

Love the connection Nathan has, to not only Ari, but his brothers as well. Great chemistry and banter. Look forward to reading about each brother!

Breaking His Law is an amazing book.

There are a few twists and turns with things that happen, but it keeps you on your toes.

Arianna and Nathan’s story is one for the books(pun intended).

I’m a huge fan of VH Nicolson, as she is the reason I got back into reading, which helped me mentally. So to be able to be here for her first non-self-published book is amazing.

I really enjoyed this book, absolutely loved Nathan (aka Mr Crankypants) and Ari.

I am such a sucker for a grumpy man who is obsessed with his woman, who also happens to be his employee. This is all my favourite tropes wrapped up in one spicy read.
I really liked that they were so drawn to each other despite us knowing her story and that he is the last person she should be involved with.
It's a complicated relationship, they are so emotionally involved but afraid to admit their true feelings. Obviously, as you are reading this and learning Ari's back story, you know the inevitable is going to happen, secrets don't stay secrets. But it's so well written, you are kept in suspense and there are wee twists and turns that keep you hooked chapter after chapter.

I also love Nathan's brother's, they are fun and the banter in this book between all the characters is so fun.
Ari is sassy and Nathan is a grump, and his brothers love to tease him.

This was a first time author for me. I will add her books to my reading lists. I enjoyed the story, the characters and the intrigue.

This was one compelling read! Once I started reading this book, I couldn't put it down. Arianna is in a car accident when she is 15 years old, and she is determined to discover the truth about the accident. I found the book quite emotional in places, and I loved the interaction between Nathaniel and his brothers.

The book is written from both Nathan's and Ari's points of view, so the reader gets a complete picture of both characters. That said, there are still plenty of plot twists and turns to keep the reader hooked. I read the book in under 24 hours!

I would definitely recommend reading this book, and I'm really looking forward to reading the next book in the series!

Can I give a book infinity stars? Nathan and ari are everything like honestly this is the best book I’ve read of 2025 so far and will live rent free in my head. The spice was spicing, the tension between these two you could cut with a knife. They meet in a bar and have a one night stand, fast forward and she’s now his secretary who has a serious ulterior motive! You are constantly rooting for these two to be together and I just want more and more of them.

I don’t have much to say about this, other than that the writing felt very juvenile—especially when listening to the characters’ thought processes. The lazy plot didn’t work for me either. If you're looking for a smutty, age-gap romance and nothing more, this might be for you. Sadly, despite how enticing that may sound, I need a bit more plot and stronger writing to stay interested..

Love it!!! I was curious about it since the first post on VH insta, and so glad Boldwood Books give me the possibility to read it.
I liked it since the first pages, it intrigued me to find why is she doing that and for what.
The characters and the relationship between them is write and described very well, made me feel the chemistry.
Also liked the plot, even though it is not something I haven't read already, but it didn't take from the beauty of the story or my curiosity.
VH always writes her books so so good and makes you fell in love with the FMC and MMC.
And also now very curious about what it is next and what the tropes will be for her next book.
And in my opinion that it is a great book, when you read it and immediate whant the next.
