I'm so sad, I love V.H Nicolson's books but unfortunately this one missed the mark for me.
Arianna was insufferable and decided to try and ruin an entire company because she thinks the man who used to run it helped the man she believes killed her family in a car crash. the car crash that was confirmed an accident based on weather conditions, but she's spent her whole adult life convinced this man was drunk or high or something and plans to take down the law firm that represented him even though the lawyer doesn't work there anymore.
she listened to bullshit from a woman she 'trusts' but when she thinks about it she was helping her old dodgy boss who had links to the cartel! but never questioned anything she said because it fit what she wanted to believe.
Nathan was also a bit of an asshole, but was at least somewhat redeemable.
Also, 3 Harry Potter references, in 2025 and especially with the current goings on of that author, really rubbed me the wrong way.

Easiest 5 stars from me! And that’s praise coming from the fact I’m not a lover on “office romance” books!

This book was fantastic! It has everything,

The spice : 5/5
The plot : 5/5
Characters: 5/5

I love Ari & Nathan together, his alpha dominance and her setting him up with all kind of wacky relaxation methods to get him to chill out had me howling!! (Did someone say goats?)

The plot was so addictive that you were honestly unsure what the outcome was going to be with Ari and her family case! But so glad of how it ended and what we seen!!

I reaaaally hope we continue with the other brothers because I cannot wait for those!!

Also.. Nathan’s mum! I love her 🥹

i could not put this one down. Ari is determined to take down the law firm that defended the man killed her family in an accident. Nathan runs the law firm. Meeting Nathan turns their world upside down. The chemistry is instant and
they both are changed. Ari started working at the firm to find evidence that Nathan's dad did something bad, but there isn't any. She never tells him what she's looking for and feels so guilty for it. Lies always come to light and they are both miserable from being apart. They hash things out with prodding from his family, but they belong together. Looking for an age gap, boss romance? Run, don't walk to this one.
