I highly enjoyed this book. It really hooks you early on and makes you want to forget all your responsibilities. It was a wild ride.

I loved this book! Plot was fantastic, characters were fantastic, I really enjoyed the story! It definitely gripped me! I highly recommend!

In The Silent House, H. M. Lynn crafts a chilling psychological thriller wrapped in isolation, suspicion, and emotional tension. When Imogen and her husband Patrick move to a secluded country home, what should have been a peaceful fresh start instantly feels off. From unsettling neighbors to shifting shadows outside her window, Imogen becomes consumed by paranoia—unsure whether the danger is supernatural, psychological, or human.
Lynn’s atmospheric prose pulls you into Imogen’s spiraling reality, making it impossible to tell what's imagined and what's real until the final twist. The pacing tightens just as dread sets in, with each revelation peeling back layers until the surprising conclusion. Character development is complex—Imogen is flawed, naive, yet increasingly sympathetic as her past trauma colors her present fears. Patrick’s denial and dismissiveness only deepen her isolation, amplifying the sense of gaslighting that looms over the story.
Overall, The Silent House is a gripping, unsettling read. Ideal for fans of psychological thrillers, it’s a story that lingers in the mind, urging you to question how well you really know the people or spaces in your life. It’s a psychological puzzle wrapped in eerie calm—perfect for an afternoon of spine-tingling suspense.

Just finished reading "The Silent House" by H. M. Lynn, and wow, what a ride! This fast-paced thriller had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The twists and turns are absolutely addictive—I couldn’t put it down! Every chapter left me craving more, as I unraveled the mysteries surrounding the eerie house at the center of the story. If you're looking for a book that will keep your heart racing and your mind guessing, this is it! I highly recommend it.

The Silent House is a chilling psychological thriller that immediately pulls you into a world of mounting paranoia and unsettling secrets. When Imogen and Patrick move to a secluded countryside home for a fresh start, the dream quickly sours as strange occurrences and a pervasive sense of being watched plague Imogen. Lynn expertly ratchets up the tension, making you question Imogen's sanity alongside her, as she grapples with a past breakdown and a husband who seems to doubt her. It's a fast-paced, twisty read that will have you double-checking your own locks and guessing until the very end.

This is a fast-paced, twisty psychological thriller. Short chapters keep the pace active, and the writing style quickly pulls the reader in. Each chapter seems to end on its own cliffhanger, which keeps them turning the pages. Characters are realistic, and there is definitely a creepy factor that keeps readers guessing throughout. It is a slow burn, but the tension builds at a steady pace, keeping the reader engaged.

This is a spine-tingling psychological thriller that takes the idea of a fresh start and twists it into something far more sinister. When the main character relocates to what seems like a peaceful countryside village, it quickly becomes clear that something is very off. The townspeople are just a little too odd, the atmosphere a little too quiet—and the sense of unease builds beautifully from there.
While some plot points are somewhat predictable, the execution is strong enough that it doesn’t take away from the enjoyment. The story is fast-paced, layered with suspense, and packed with twist after twist that keeps you engaged all the way through.
The characters are well crafted, especially the protagonist, whose growing paranoia and doubt mirror the reader’s own as the mystery unfolds. The eerie setting adds to the tension, making you question what’s real, who to trust, and what’s being kept hidden behind closed doors.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
‘Our address mentions the road name and the nearest town, which is four miles away. That’s how in the middle of nowhere we are.’
Many thanks to @lovebookstours & @hannahlynnwrites for putting me on this tour ✨
In the middle of nowhere, you can lose more than your own way..
This was good, really really good.
Very twisty and I did not guess any of them.
First book of H.M. Lynns iv read so will definitely be looking up for more.
The MFC was slightly tedious and annoying.. naively believing strangers really.
I loved the twist right at the end , nothing like how I thought It would end.
If you love a creepy, twisty thriller than definitely pick this one up!

I liked this one, but I couldn't say I loved it. I didn't have that connection to the characters. Also, at times I found the plot to be unrealistic. I liked it but I couldn't say I loved it.

it was quite a short book and a slow build but it was pretty good! I enjoyed the twist and the author really made me question the sanity of the narrator. I would definitely pick up another book by this author!

I hate to leave negative feedback but this was pretty dire. After about the 1st 10/20% I knew exactly what the twist would be, extremely predictable for the "who", maybe not quite so for the "why" but that wasn't enough sadly.
I can say that the writing style was good and easy to read, short chapters a bonus too but the predictability ruined it completely.
Unfortunately I can only offer 2 stars, thank you #NetGalley for the arc

This is a creepy and claustrophobic psychological thriller which will certainly mess with your head. I really liked this book and would recommend to anyone who likes this author or genre.

Ahhh, another book where the female main character may or may not be crazy. This one was very slow, taking most of the book to build up to something exciting, and then it was over as quickly as it happened, leaving much to be desired. This one just didn’t hit the spot for me.

The Silent House is an unsettling, twisty psychological thriller that pulls you in and keeps you guessing right up until the final page. H. M. Lynn does a fantastic job creating a chilling atmosphere—you can practically feel the creeping dread as the story unfolds.
From the moment the main character moves into her new countryside home with Patrick, everything feels just a little off. The strange neighbors, the eerie shadows outside the window, and the constant sense of being watched create a thick sense of paranoia that only grows stronger as the story progresses.
What I loved about this book is the way it plays with your mind—you’re never quite sure what’s real and what’s not. The tension keeps building, and just when you think you’ve figured out what’s going on, the story takes another dark, unexpected turn.
If you enjoy psychological thrillers filled with suspense, isolation, and creeping paranoia, The Silent House is a must-read. Prepare to question everything… and maybe double-check your locks!

It took me over a month to read this book. There was nothing inherently wrong with it. The storyline was a bit choppy to me. I HATED Patrick from the moment he was introduced. Imogen wasn’t my fav either.
A married couple is moving out of the city to the countryside. Im has been undergoing IVF to create babies for some odd reason. So her hormones are crazy and Patrick is just a douche. Once at the new place, crazy things start happening. Are they real? Is something sinister going on or is Im just crazy?
I didn’t hate the book but it felt like it took forever to get to the mystery part and then it felt like it ended abruptly. I can’t explain it well I guess.

Firstly, this book has short chapters which i love because i believe it adds to developing the pace of the book.
This book started off tense from the first few pages and continued to the end. It is packed with non-stop action and the author did a great job keeping the suspense. It is clear that Imogen has a traumatic past that affected her deeply. Now an adult and married, she and her husband have moved to the countryside for the quiet and are hoping to have a baby.
But strange and dangerous things begin to happen Almost immediately after moving in to Imogene. Based on her past, will her husband believe her? Is there anyone she can trust?
I loved this book. Its full of twists and turns and it kept me guessing who was behind all the mysterious things happening to Imogen. Just when I thought i had it worked out, I was left shocked with the final twist.
A good creepy ARC book that I received and thoroughly enjoyed from love book tours. This review is my honest opinion.

A bit of a slow burner to begin with however the tension racks up as the story progresses. This was one of these stories where I really didn't like either of the main characters although that doesn't stop you from identifying with them when things go wrong. A dream that turns into a nightmare and with an unexpected ending.

A quick read that keeps you hooked. An old isolated house with a spooky past and a quirky neighbor…a husband that seems too good to be true…a wife with a difficult past…all excellent.
Unfortunately, there was not enough development of the storyline in the past to make the circumstances believable and it was too much of a stretch the number of people involved.
Thanks to NetGalley & Boldwood Books for the ARC.

A quick read but feels too similar to other books in this genre. Supposedly a psychological thriller, these types of stories follow a well worn path with a woman not being believed by her nearest and dearest while the reader knows she’s right but not why or how. All plot and thin characterisation make these reads a dime a dozen. However, it does keep you turning the pages so good if you want just a light but forgettable read.

Really enjoyed this book. It was creepy. Lots of twists and turns along the way to keep you interested. The plot was well thought out and played out well. The book was well written.
