Quinn Amelia Goes to the Dentist is a sweet, calming story that does a wonderful job of turning something scary into something exciting for little ones. It walks kids through the dental experience in a way that's friendly and approachable, with lovely illustrations and clear, reassuring language. As a parent, I really appreciated how it made my child feel more confident about her own appointment—she actually asked when she could go after we read it together!

The book makes the dentist part of everyday life and stresses healthy snacks and how to look after teeth. The little girl went in to see the dentist on her own, which struck me as a little odd. I have always taken my little one in (and have been taken in even into my teens), and so this part scared my little one, and I needed to reassure them that I would be there with them.
What happens in the dentist chair is well described, and it puts my little one at ease about what noises and tastes there might be.
The book's images are on the way to being caricatures, which is a shame, as the colours are great.
The book is lovely to read, but we skip over the 'being alone with the dentist' part, which ruined it for us and upset my little one.

Y’all, I don't know what magic is in this book, but Quinn Amelia Goes to the Dentist made my 5-year-old excited about getting her teeth checked. 😲 The story is adorable, the pics are super cute, and Quinn is basically a tiny superhero for nervous kids. We read it three times before bed, and now my daughter wants to bring it to her appointment to “show the dentist I know stuff.” If your kiddo is anxious, this book is a game-changer. 🦷💪✨

Going to the dentist is a very confusing and scary event for many kids, including my pre-schooler. Each trip gets a little better, but the noise, smells, and scary equipment makes it overwhelming. This book was very timely for us, as we had very recently been to the dentist. This is a great story to read leading up to an appointment to build confidence in our smallest dental patients!

My only complaint is 4 seems young to have to go by their selves, and I had to reassure my 3 year old that we will be with him at his next appointment.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is such a cute story, and it can definitely be used as a tool for a parent that is about to take their child to the dentist for the first time. It shows and tells the child that the dentist is not a bad place. I love that it literally walks through what an entire visit is like. The child that reads it will know exactly what will happen and won’t have any surprises!
