After watching Season 1 of Maxton Hall (and not having read Save Me yet), this book picked up almost perfectly where it left off. I really enjoyed reading this and given that I don’t read a ton of romance, I was glad to see there weren’t too many ups and downs within one book. I enjoyed Lydia’s POVs as well as getting to know Ember more. The ending was surprising! Though I can’t imagine how a school could handle that issue in that way,
Happy to note the spice was minimal, which feels appropriate when writing about high schoolers. Even though I’m not naive that it’s reality, it feels gross to read as an adult.
I do have a hard time with books normalising student-teacher relationships

After James' betrayal, Ruby wants nothing more than to go back to how things were before she knew him. James, however, will not let go. He knows he made a mistake, and he wants to make it up to her. Despite the anger she holds for him, she might be the only one who can help him deal with the pressure his father puts on him.
I tried to like this book, because the first was not bad. Its just more of the same stuff dealt with in the first book. I also cannot get over the need for teen romance authors to make it the female character's responsibility to "fix" the love interest. He needs therapy and rehab, not a teenage girl who barely has her own shit together.

The continuation to the viral series on Prime. Which I loved.
I was really excited for this one because it dived back in where we left off in the tv show. It's told from more than two POVs and I'm not mad. I liked the world and the plot that the author chose to continue but this time I really struggled with the writing. It felt very impersonal, like it was just detailing literally, step-by-step what went on in all of the characters' heads. I didn't hate it, I enjoyed it but I'm 100% I would've loved it if it wasn't for the writing. It just left a lot to be desired. I'm very exited to see season 2 of the TV show because I'm sure I'll adore it!

This was such a great follow up to Save Me!! I was so entertained. I thought that the addition of Lydia and Ember's points of view made the story more interesting, and I really loved getting to know both of them a bit more. I was on the fence between four or five stars for this book, but that ending???? I'm floored; I need the next book yesterday. I love the extreme levels of drama in this series, these books are completely addictive! I can't wait to read the next one, I had such a great time with this! :)

This book was equal parts entertaining and frustrating. We got some more insight into what happened in the previous book, as well as new POVs from Lydia and Ember. Ember's POV provided a new perspective, and Lydia’s POV had a more serious undertone.
We hear a lot about the character's growing closer and having some other moments that I would have liked to see, but a lot of those stories are told rather than shown.
This book felt really similar to the first one, and James and Ruby’s back-and-forth dynamic felt a bit dragged out and repetitive. There were definitely some sweet moments, but I feel like James could’ve done way more to earn it. The writing also kept that kind of Wattpad-style with the drama and cliffhangers.
Is it perfect? No, but it was still entertaining. Predictable? Kind of, but I still enjoyed reading it.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this arc :)

3.75 stars, 0.5 spice
Thank you so much to Berkley for the e-arc!!
This series continues to be very much what it promises: teen drama, emotional chaos, and all the back-and-forth you’d expect from high schoolers who are very much ‘in it’. I liked that we’re expanding into multiple POVs this time, it gives more context for what other characters are dealing with, and helps build out the world a bit more.
Some of the plot threads from book one carry over nicely, and AHH things I was worried about in book 1 came back, duh duh duhhhh
It is fun to see how some elements from this book were already included in season 1, but how the last chapter in book 1 wasn’t. I am even more excited for season two of the show now!! (Which I didn’t know was possible)
My biggest critique is that, while the emotions are there, we don’t always see the depth in the relationships. There’s a lot of “I remember when we stayed up late talking and I learned all these things,” but we don’t actually get those scenes on the page. It’s a lot of telling, not showing. And yes, it can feel a little repetitive. They’re still in the same school year, so it’s more parties, more classes, more event committee, and so on.
Was this the best book I’ve ever read? No. But did I read it in one sitting and enjoy the ride? Absolutely. Am I ready to jump into book three the moment its available to me? 100%. And yes, I now want to go rewatch the show.
And beware of another cliffhanger! so prepare yourself accordingly. Mona Kasten really doesn’t believe in giving us a break.

I enjoyed this one as much as the first, Save Me. That book ended on a cliffy and this one picks up right after. Ruby is destroyed by James' actions and still doesn't know why James is lashing out. James is drowning and is well aware he has screwed thing up with Ruby. I loved reading Lydia and Ember's POV's. Having multiple voices in the book added to the context and drama.
Of course these two will eventually find their way back to each other, but....there is yet more drama and another cliffy at the end of this one. Hurry up Save Us!

The second book in the Maxton Hall series, this novel follows Ruby, James, and now Lydia and Ember, as they navigate life in preparatory school. In the aftermath of their mother’s death, James and Lydia wonder how they can move forward when their lives feel like a horror movie. Ruby is reeling from James’ betrayal, yet she still harbors feelings for him. Ember is drawn into Maxton Hall life as she convinces Ruby to let her attend a gala event.
This book was kind of a flop. It felt like the exact same plot as Save Me. There was a lot of (unnecessary) drama. Lydia’s perspective didn’t add much to the plot, in my opinion. And I’m tired of the “will they, won’t they?” of James/Ruby’s relationship. I appreciated Ember’s POV though; it was a breath of fresh air.
Overall, I just wasn’t into this. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this digital arc in exchange for my honest review.

I read Save Me after being sucked in by Maxton Hall. I'm not sure if I've ever read a source book after watching an adaptation before and it was interesting to compare and contrast. Given that season 2 has not yet aired, Save You was all brand new info and kept me engaged. If you are a fan of teen drama TV shows, this series is for you.
Save You drops us right back into where book one ended. James works to come to terms with the changes in his life and the choices that he made as a result. Ruby has to decide if she can be present for it all and what her path will be moving forward. We get 2 additional POVs in this book (up from 2 to 4), as situations with side characters become more important and interconnected. The ending! Oh my gosh. I'm invested in this Rollercoaster and can't wait for the 3rd and final novel installment and continued on-screen adaptation.
Thanks to Berkley and NetGalley for an eARC of this book for an honest review!

I swear these books are literally the most direct book to TV adaptations I've ever read / seen. So, if you love Maxton Hall, you're going to love these books. It's super fast, one sitting kind of read. It's high drama, with a twist you're not going to see coming. It's got another big cliffhanger, that's going to make you need book 3 immediately. And you're going to get more POVs, which was great! I can't want to keep reading this series!

I couldn’t wait to read this sequel after the cliffhanger in Save Me. It’s more emotional and introspective—as it deals with heartbreak and the aftermath of a breakup. Save You explores the difficult decisions we make while grieving, the ache of longing, and the journey toward healing and forgiveness. At its heart, it’s a story about second chances and the strength it takes to open yourself up again. Your heart aches for Ruby and James, and you’ll find yourself desperately hoping they can overcome the pain and make it work. Especially after another cliffhanger, I really need the next book.

Another lovely time with James and Ruby at Maxton Hall! I couldn't put this book down! It was fun to get different POVs in this book with Lydia and Ember's perspectives. I felt that the translation also flowed better for this book than the first novel, which had a few awkwardly chosen words here and there.
Naturally, this book ended on a dramatic cliffhanger, and I can't wait to read the last book in this series and watch Season 2 on Amazon Prime this Fall!
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advanced reader's copy in exchange for an honest review.

I LOVE this book so much! I read this book super fast, was it a literary masterpiece.......no but was it a time to have.....yes.

Really liked the angst and drama in this! I enjoyed it a bit more than the first book but it was mostly uneventful and some of the scenes were a little predictable. However, I was surprised by that ending and I have several theories. I’m very invested now👀
The writing style was pretty standard and could use a bit more structural improvement. I’m not sure if it’s because of the way it’s just translated. It reads very much like a Wattpad story, but these books are very bingeable! I loved the fun and elite high school setting.
James needed to do more groveling in this book and I’m still feeling iffy about his actions. However, the reconciliation between him and Ruby was very sweet. I noticed some character development too (especially with Lydia), but hoping there’s even more improvement as the story continues.
The additional POVs from Lydia and Ember were a nice touch because it was actually fun to read about the side couples. I’m very intrigued with Wren and Cy’s characters! Would love to see more of Lydia and Graham too. So glad these are out in English and I can’t WAIT for the next book because I saw Graham’s POV in the excerpt.

So excited to be back reading James' and Ruby's story! This second story picks up right where Book 1 left off. I will say the only thing I wish that maybe would have changed was the whole plot revolving around yet another party/gala. Still a good read and the ending was SHOCKING! Can't wait to see how this alters the dynamic of both main characters.

This book is absolutely bingeable! I read it in under 24hrs. Couldn’t put it down! I loved that it has multiple POV’s. I loved the tension between James and Ruby. Their relationship was so enjoyable to read, even the tougher parts. So much drama, even between the side characters. There was never a dull moment. The ending had my jaw hanging open. Will Ruby lose everything? Ahh, I need book 3 immediately! Season one of Maxton Hall is on Amazon Prime now! Season 2 releases Nov 7th. Save Me, book one, publishes July 1st. This is book 2, Save You, which publishes September 2nd.

Save You picked up right where Save Me left off—right in the wreckage of Ruby and James’s imploded almost-relationship. Ruby tried to bury her heartbreak in study schedules, but James haunted every hallway at Maxton Hall—and every page of this book. The tension between them was palpable, a slow dance of regret and raw emotion.
The author skillfully balanced internal battles (grief, ambition) with external pressures (family drama, school politics), giving both leads more depth. Ruby’s boundaries felt real, and James’s redemption arc was messy but compelling.
If you love second chances and slow-burning tension, Save You delivered—heartache, hope, and all.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

There were definitely some heartfelt scenes and emotional tension that stood out. The characters go through a lot, and their struggles felt real at times, especially when it came to dealing with guilt, forgiveness, and personal growth.
However, the drama felt a bit excessive and repetitive in places, which made it harder to stay fully invested. Some character decisions were frustrating, and the back-and-forth dynamic started to lose impact as the story went on. The pacing also lagged in parts, slowing the momentum.
It’s not without its strong points — especially if you’re into angsty romance — but it didn’t completely hit the mark for me. Solid, but not quite memorable.

I’m not sure if I finished the book… or if it finished me. And now what am I supposed to do with my life until I get my hands on the third book and read the ending? Especially after that kind of cliffhanger.
But regardless, I’m in love with Ruby and James, and they’re so sweet together that I'm honestly melting. I won’t go too much into the writing style or the chemistry between the characters, because not much has changed since my review of the first book.
What I really enjoyed in this one were Lydia’s and Ember’s POVs. I loved getting the chance to know both Lydia and Ember more closely. I also really liked that Lydia and Ruby became friends—I’d been rooting for that since the first book.
I’m also excited because I saw we’ll be getting Graham’s POV in book three, and I definitely want to get to know him better too.
I can’t wait to see how season two of the show will look and how much it’ll differ from the book (hopefully not too much).
I highly recommend this series, and I’ll definitely be thinking about this book nonstop until I get the third one.
