okay Tierney did that thang!!! 🤩 it’s hard to believe this is her first book!!! it was so beautiful to see April fall in love with James. and to allow herself to love again after going through a heartbreaking situation. the banter in this story had me cracking up. basil is a cute and funny little shit. the friendships in this story are wholesome and i feel like there could be something with miss gemma and someone’s brother 👀👀
i honestly can’t wait to see what is next for Tierneys writing!! 💖🫶🏼

I loved this book! I was unsure about the premise with it being an ex fiancés brother, but Tierney made me fall in love. James stole my heart from the first interaction. The way he showed how he cared and loved April made me swoon. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a swoon worth MMC, rockstar romance.

I found myself devouring this book. Who doesn’t love a rockstar romance? But the best part about it was the fact that this is probably one of the first rockstar romance books where there wasn’t a substance abuse issue. Don’t get me wrong, i understand the need for the drama they ensue, but it is very hard to read sometimes.

And who doesn’t like a boss woman who takes what she wants and isn’t afraid to be herself.?

I wouldn’t call it super smutty in my opinion. I’ve read much smuttier, but i did find the spice to be spicy.

Thanks to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for access to the ARC in exchange for this honest review!

I ended up DNFing this book it was alright I just couldn’t get into it and just didn’t feel interested enough to read it, I did really want to like this book
The Book sounded promising but the story ultimately lacked depth and character development.
And I just couldn’t finish the book, which I’ve honestly haven’t had an issue where I couldn’t finish reading the book 😭

Honestly...I really struggled with this book. A good portion of the book is April and James interacting with their group of friends. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed their group of friends. They had more chemistry with their friends then they did with each other. Half the time I wanted to know more about Gemma life than April's. When the main character would interact, it was short or full of spice. I wouldn't consider this book a slow burn. But there were some tender moments I did enjoy.

I want to thank Netgalley for the E-book copy in exchange for an honest review.

Tierney Page has absolutely knocked it out of the park with "The Other Brother"! From the very first page, I was completely swept away and quite honestly, I never wanted to put this book down. This is the kind of romance that grabs you and doesn't let go, and it's an absolute must-read for anyone who loves their contemporary romance with a hefty dose of heat and heart.

The chemistry between April and James is nothing short of explosive – truly off the charts! Every interaction, every glance, every moment between them sizzled with an undeniable pull that had me completely invested. And the banter? Oh my god, the banter is pure perfection! It's witty, sharp, and incredibly entertaining, making their forbidden romance even more compelling.

And can we just talk about James for a moment? He is the ultimate book boyfriend, hands down! Brooding, talented, and with a hidden depth that just makes you swoon, he's everything you could possibly want in a male lead. Tierney Page has crafted a character you'll fall head over heels for, and his dynamic with April is just chef's kiss.

This book is incredibly fast-paced, keeping the momentum high and the excitement building with every chapter. It's a thrilling ride from start to finish, packed with emotion, steam, and a love story that defies expectations. If you're looking for your next rockstar romance obsession, with forbidden vibes and a hero you'll dream about, you simply HAVE to read "The Other Brother." Get ready to clear your schedule, because once you start, you won't be able to stop!

ARC REVIEW
Thank you Netgalley, Forever Grand Central publishing & Tierney page for the ARC !

This book was fun, flirty, and hot—but ultimately felt a bit surface-level for me. I loved the concept: jilted bride falls for her ex-fiancé’s younger, tattooed, bass-playing brother? Yes, please! It’s the kind of messy, forbidden tension I usually devour.

April and James have undeniable chemistry. From the moment he appears, there’s heat between them, emotional and physical.

But despite the great premise and strong banter, I wanted more character depth. Their connection was hot, but I wasn’t fully convinced by their emotional intimacy.

Some of the plot twists and resolutions came too conveniently, and the dialogue occasionally felt flat & I found myself skimming near the end.

If you’re looking for a spicy, easy-to-read romance with forbidden vibes and playful revenge moments, The Other Brother delivers. But if you’re hoping for a deeper emotional journey or nuanced characters, it might fall a little short.

Would I read the next in the London Hearts series?
Maybe. There’s enough promise here that I’d give Tierney Page another shot.

First a huge thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC.

James and April’s story is one about overcoming fears brought on by those that you loved. They meet up in a bar by chance and James wants to make sure she is okay. A few more chance meetings and the rest is history.
Tierney did a wonderful job telling this story and I absolutely did not want to put it down. The romance in the story is beautiful and of course, spicy. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

A hot bass guitarist and a sexy self made woman??? SIGN ME UP! April and James story is going to live rent free in my brain for so long, I’m In love with them. It starts off with April (our beautiful baddie) who is engaged to Lucas (tool) when she finds some scandalous things on his phone he’s been doing, and they end there engagement. In comes our HOT band mate (and Lucas younger brother) James. He sweeps April off her feet in some unexpected ways. What I loved most about this book was how there dynamic changed from being almost in laws - to lovers. There care and tenderness for one another outshined all the drama. I throughly LOVED her besties, Gemma and Anna. I want more of them so bad. This is also my first Tierney Page book so I’m very pleased and I can’t wait to get more she’s a brilliant author. This book brought it ALL. I was giggling, crying, laughing and just awhhhing.

I see a rockstar romance, I read it. But being able to find one that doesn’t revolve around drug use or obsessive fans feels impossible. The Other Brother didn’t have that! I loved the passion between the two characters. I do feel like the plot could have been more substantial with a little more conflict somehow but otherwise I loved this book. I feel like this is great for people who want to dip their toe into the rockstar romance genre without diving straight into the darker tones so many of them have

James + April

-forbidden romance
-ex fiances brother
-musician mmc
-found family

this was a great story line & had great potential but i just felt like the development was kind of fast paced when there wasn't really much content given to us on page about why they would develop said feelings.

This was such a beautiful story. For a debut novel it’s absolutely great. I love Tierney so this was my most anticipated book for the year, but it was just missing something sadly. It took me quite a while to get through. The story was so beautiful but it was just missing drama or something to keep you engaged. The characters had no development and the few times there was drama it ended literally 2 paragraphs later. Every few chapters I found myself interested, but overall I could’ve stopped reading and never thought twice about it again. It just didn’t have much going on and was so mundane for a rockstar romance, but if that’s your thing then you’d love it. I’d re-read if I was in the mood for a romance like this, but it would be more of a casual read than an engaging one. I do think this would be SO amazing if it were a movie or show. And the cover is so gorgeous. The detail in it and colors are phenomenal.

Was this the most mind blowing book I’ve ever read? No. But I still enjoyed it for what it was. The plot wasn’t anything too crazy or unique, and it did get a little repetitive at times but not enough to make me want to DNF. I was invested enough to keep turning the pages, and honestly? That’s because of James.

James, our tattooed rockstar MMC, owned this story. I knew from the beginning I was going to love him, and he’s 100% the reason I kept going. He gave me just enough to stay hooked when the pacing dragged a bit.

It wasn’t a perfect read, but it also wasn’t bad. I’d definitely check out the next book in the series. I feel like it has potential to grow.

Big thanks to netgalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts! 🖤

An ex’s brother forbidden romance? Total catnip. Alas, I’m sad to report this one didn’t work for me. For a supposedly forbidden romance, everything was just so lukewarm! Both April and James were…boring? I can’t even remember what she did for a living (I support her soft girl life tho), but for a “bad boy musician” type, James was far too yawn for me. All their feelings just seemed muted somehow? April doesn’t even hate her ex Lucas with a passion even after all his transgressions. She’s just like whatever about it, he did love me even if he was a creep. Yes there’s some crying about it but it’s like she remembers oh wait I must be in despair for he left me every once in a while. It felt like the author is tiptoeing around all the potential angst of their situation, which resulted in a watered down version of what could be a very messy, deliciously angsty book.

For all the sappy lines, I had a hard time believing she was passionately in love with James too. Even their attraction felt like it popped out of nowhere and suddenly they were like oh we always thought the other was hot. Okay. I also hated the way she treated James sometimes like an object to be used; I get she was having a rough time after her breakup but gosh don’t take it out on the sweet man. Who was also like oh whatever, walk all over me. We love a simp, but we like a backbone on the simp.

Another thing that made it all boring was both James and April spend half their life giving a play by play of their interactions to their friends, and we get to hear them repeat it each time! Oh joy. 🙃 Friend groups have never annoyed me more (though I will say they were hella supportive of both). Similarly, I feel like they had the same conversations with repetitive dialog quite a few times and I have to wonder if the author just didn’t have anything interesting to say. I don’t know, everything just fell flat for me. The sex scenes were steamy, but like even there I got the impression that the author just figured oh let’s place a sex scene here coz nothing else is happening and add the quota of booktok hooks that will definitely equal a successful book. I did not jive with the writing either, but that might be a personal preference. I’m all for a well placed cliche but the 90s level cliches were kinda tired. This all sounds harsh, and maybe it was just a case of wrong timing or this specific book not being for me, it might work for you if you’re looking to pick it up.

ARC Review – thank you NetGalley.

⭐⭐⭐.25

🎸 Rockstar Romance
💙 Forbidden Romance
⬆️ She Upgrades

This was Tierney’s a debut novel – and it was pretty good.

I love a good romance where she upgrades, and even better if its his brother. I also really enjoyed the setting of this book.

I thoroughly enjoyed the friendships both the FMC and the MMC had – especially the banter/ribbing of each other. Alot of the scenes where each of the MCs was with their respective friend groups made me laugh out loud.

One of my favourite scenes was when James went to his friends/band mates for advice – absolutely loved it.

James was an upgrade for April for sure – and the tension between the two was 🔥. Unsurprisingly, the spice hit – I mean it was written by Tierney – and that girl loves her spice.

I do wish the book detailed the relationship b/w Lucas and April a bit more – which I understand is tough to do when she ends up upgrading from him, but without it, it was hard to grasp/ relate to why she was down for such a long period of time/ had so much guilt about moving on. To me, she should have been angrier than she was, especially during the breakup scene.

The two main characters felt a bit inconsistent at times and there were a few points where the story dragged on a bit. The main conflict also resolved too quickly for my liking.

Overall, I did enjoy this book – it hooked me enough that it was a one sitting read. I am excited for future novels from Tierney, as I am sure they will only go up from here.

I have high hopes for her future books – I think there is a solid base here and with some refinement as she writes more – I think we will get some really good books from her – hopefully with some of my side favourite characters from this book (hint: Gemma, Oliver).

I usually don’t like books with cheating, but because I like Teirney, I decided to give this one a chance. She did great with this debut novel. What better way to get back at your cheating ex-fiance than to get with his hot rockstar brother? The humor and joy that Teirney brings to her social media came to life on these pages. The story was very well-paced. The side characters had enough page time to make an impact without overdoing the main characters. There was definitely chemistry between James and April. There’s also no third-act breakup, which is a breath of fresh air in the book world!

Thank you to NetGalley and Forever Publishing for this arc. I was delighted to read this as Tierney Page is one of my favorite content creators.
Overall, was a good romance, definitely heavy with the spice. Was it anything ground breaking? No but it kept my attention, and finished in one sitting.
The book follows April & James. April was engaged to James' brother, and things end badly. A connection forms between them and we go on the journey as they discover their feelings for each other. I like the dual pov's.
My only issue is the dialogue felt a bit choppy and sometimes forced. However, I believe this is Tierney's first book, and I have no doubt she will develop that.
I would recommend this for anyone who enjoys a spicy, quick read!

Was this book amazing or ground breaking? No, but it was still a good book. I really enjoyed the characters and the plot. It wasn’t anything too crazy or mind blowing but I did enjoy the characters and their story.

I did find it a bit boring and repetitive as the story went on but nothing too bad that made me want to stop reading the book. James, is the soul reason I kept pushing myself to complete this book. I’m a sucker for a rockstar MMC and from the beginning I just knew I was going to love him.

Overall, this book wasn’t bad and I would definitely be interesting in reading the next book in the series!

Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to receive an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

From the queen of TikTok herself, I could not wait to dig into this banger.

Within the first few chapters James cleans the house for April. Instant panty dropper. He is a man written by a woman and it shows.

This story was messy, angsty, wrong time, wrong brother. Some of the greatest side characters the dating stories were fucking hilarious. The communication and back and forth felt very real. We all lean on our friends to muddle through complicated relationships, and their wisdom was spot on. I’d like to petition for Anna and Oliver to fall in love next!

Thank you Net Galley for this ARC!

This was a quick fast paced enjoyable read. I am a sucker for a rockstar romance, then you add ex’s brother….yes please. While this is a debut book, it was good. I had issues reading and felt myself skimming parts, but overall it was a good read. James and April were so undeniably hot together. You could feel the chemistry and the tension. Lucas was just a dirt bag. What he did to April then thinking he could come crawling back to her, no thank you.
I overall enjoyed it and will continue the series.
