I really wanted to like this, the premise intrigued me and I hadn't taken a dive into this branch of fantasy/romantasy since my Twilight days. However, this book ended with more questions than answers than when I started it (but not in the good way unfortunately).

Here are some areas that could've made this a 4/5 star read (slight spoilers ahead, proceed with caution):

- The world building was done in a need to know basis, that left me as the reader frustrated because there was very little shared about the history between humans and vampires beyond the basics. I had a hard time believing there wasn't instances of prejudice towards vampires from humans and vice versa that this world didn't expand upon.

- The soulmate/re-incarnation aspect was really cool. However, I felt it flopped in execution because Millie and Reese were seen as two very different people, yet they have the same soul? Beau treated her like they were completely separate people which confused me because they are, but if they are the same soul just reincarnated, then surely they're also kind of the same? That wasn't well thought out in my opinion. I think it would've been better if maybe she had flashbacks to life as Millie and maybe Reese is more of an evolving of Millie.

- The mystery aspect of this had me really intrigued with twists I didn't see coming. I loved learning more about Zeke as that mystery part evolved, however it didn't progress enough for me to be totally hooked for the second book.

- It was difficult to root for the romance in this book. It was literally forced but didn't seem to really evolve. I would've loved more emotional growth between the two and more catalyst moments that made me want them to find their common ground together. I felt very emotional for Reese and struggled to reconcile with Beau as the book progressed.

Overall, I think this book had some great potential. I was pretty sure it was going to be a 3 star read but by the end I was ready to leave this world behind with very little ambition to read book 2 which made me go, well this wasn't all the great then was it? I think since the second book comes out so soon I'll still give it a chance to see if the mystery part evolves better and if the romance improves.

I really enjoyed this book. The story and details of the vampires was different and fun. I didn't like Beau at first but then he won me over. Reece was so fun and independent. The family characters were really good and I can't wait for the next book. Totally recommend.

I am always a sucker for vampire stories, this one has some pretty classic tropes including fated mates (that have heats similar to what you would read in a shifter romance - they can’t be separated for very long). I’m very interested to read how this world continues to build.

I love a good vampire romance!! This was so great and the story kept me hooked. I loved their chemistry and how they evolved together. Typically a miscommunication trope is my least favorite and will sometimes ruin a book for me but this one was done so well. I am very excited for the next book to come out.

The book was alright at best. I got annoyed enough times that I nearly didn't finish. The writing was messy. It just really didn't work for me. But maybe for somebody else.

It took me a few chapters to get into "Vein & Vow", but once I was in, I was all in.
The book is fast-paced, full of actions, and lots and lots of banter.
I really enjoyed this enemies-to-lovers story and the chemistry between our main characters, Reese and Beau, and cannot wait to learn more about learn about all these fun side characters. Bring on the next book!

I was excited to read something a bit outside my comfort zone, as I haven’t read many vampire books before. When I came across this one, I was intrigued and thought I would enjoy it. Unfortunately, it became a DNF for me at 28%. I don’t often DNF books, and if I do, it’s usually not so early into the book. I always want to give every book a fair chance, but I just didn't really enjoy this one. We follow a vampire named Beau and a human named Reese, who discover that they are fated mates. Reese struggles to accept this reality and desires a normal life, while Beau is given a second chance at true love. Even though I haven't read much vampire books, I generally enjoy anything vampire-related, but I wasn’t enjoying this book as much as I had hoped I would. I felt uncomfortable with how much cursing there's in this book. Each chapter has at least multiple times the word 'fucking' in its sentences, and It just pulled me out of the story every time and the characters and book in general annoyed me quite much because of that. It kind of reminded me of when I read ''Fourth Wing'' with the overuse of modern curse words. I had difficulty connecting with the characters, and I didn’t find them particularly likable either. They were so rude. Also, this book is very insta-love. I can imagine that with vampires and mates and all, but the characters making out in the first few chapters without knowing each other and then going back and forth whether they like each other or not, was just a bit too quick for me. I can see why this book might be addictive for others, but unfortunately, it just wasn’t really for me, and I didn't really care about the story, worldbuilding, and characters either. If you enjoy fated mates, vampires, and a modern enemies-to-lovers storyline and setting, you might like this more than I did.

Information drops in suddenly, which mirrors Reece’s limited knowledge but still feels jarring at times. I wanted more—more clarity, more context, more immersion.

And then comes the ending—abrupt and incomplete. While it sets up the next installment with a different couple, it leaves Beau and Reece without the closure their story deserves. Their dynamic had promise, but their development felt unfinished.

If you love fast-paced, fated-mates romances with heat, drama, and a thread of mystery, Vein & Vow might hit the spot. Just don’t expect all the answers—or a neatly wrapped love story.

Came for the vampires, stayed for the chaos. This book is gritty, dramatic, and full of “why are you like this??” moments.

A slow burn romance with just the right amount of angst and tension to keep me flipping pages and yelling at the characters (lovingly). They’re flawed, stubborn, and sometimes ridiculous in a way that made me root for them harder.

If you like your love stories with bite, baggage, and a little emotional whiplash (in the best way), this one’s a fun, twisty pick.

This was my first Nicole Jacquelyn book, found via NetGalley. I was drawn to the enemies-to-lovers & fated-mates taglines but I found myself quite frustrated with the miscommunications/banter.

This enemies-to-lovers paranormal romance explores whether two people can find love despite their differences when fate refuses to be denied.

Review: While this fast-paced paranormal romance prioritizes character development over plot, it sometimes suffers from a few plot holes and moments that weren't entirely clear. Beau's brooding vampire behavior occasionally felt frustrating, though the character-driven focus and short spicy scenes kept the story engaging. Despite some narrative gaps, fans of character-focused paranormal romance will likely enjoy the enemies-to-lovers dynamic.

Ahhh omg i ended up ADORING this book!

It was like the reader was thrown into a crazy Fated Mate situation that you never saw coming, i absolutely LOVED IT.

The progression between Reese and Beau was amazing, how they hated eachother so much in the beginning to see the progression and the switch in their relationship throughout the book was incredible! I also LOVE all of the supporting characters and the plot itself and omg i need book two NOW! Can’t wait to read Ambrose’s POV and see what happens as the journey continues! I loved this book and will be happily posting my reviews everywhere! I appreciate being able to read this ARC and can’t wait for it to be out in the world! Everyone is going to love it😍👌🏻🔥🥰

This book was a good read after I got past the initial chapter/s. Please take my review with a grain of salt.

Reese, our FMC, is a technician at a Blood Bank. She is spiky and prickly. She loves listening to music as she work. She loves the fact that she doesn't need to interact with people at work even more. All this is thrown up into the air when our asshole MMC, Beaumont, enters the picture and figures out that she is his mate.

This story doesn't really have a lot of world building and depth to it. But it does have a lot of character growth. Reese learns to accept people around her and accept the fact that they are bound together forever (also that vampires have stupidly good hearing). Beaumont learns to be less of an asshole. This is technically an enemies to lovers, what its closer to is, two people who really don't want a relationship being forced into a relationship together so hard that the overcome the odds and kinda fall in love with eachother. And to make it worse.. Beaumonts only source of food is now her.. This does not help things. The first part of the book needed to be fleshed out to make me give a **** about what was happening. I didn't even understand why it was relevant til far too late in the book, and thus it lost a star.

Emotion wise, the book is confusing. I didn't hate it, but the first part gave me enough of a weird taste that it coloured a decent chunk of the rest of the book. I was not kept on the edge of my seat. The drama was fun. The sex was meh.

I'm treating this as a bit of a palate cleanser that did actually become okay in the last 1/4 of the book. Do I recommend it? no. Is it readable? yeah.

I love a good enemies to lovers, fated mates vampire romance. This was my first book of Nicole Jacquelyn, provided as an e-arc through Netgally. Did I LOVE it, sadly I did not. It felt a little rushed, some paragraph's felt unfinished to me. Almost DNF'd but thought that it might get better in the end. Overall, to me it wasn't very good. I did like the storyline behind everything, if this ever get's a re-edited version, I will most likely read it.

Vein and Vow is a well-written, fast-paced romance with a hint of spice, strong family ties, and a satisfying conclusion to what will be a great series. I honestly wouldn't say it is enemies to lovers, it is more a grump and sunshine vibe in my opinion. I honestly loved how grumpy Beau was as it was a great offset to Reese, who is a bubbly and annoying but it's cute type.

Is it super spicy? No, but it has some good scenes. Instead, I found Vein and Vow to be almost a cozy read with a family that supports and loves each other, and is welcoming and caring. An MMC and FMC that are thrown into a fated situation and are catching their stride and just enough action and side story to keep things moving along. I am eagerly awaiting the next book in this series.

This is my first from the author. Even though I requested it as soon as I saw that this about vampires, I struggled with this one. I felt that somehow, I missed something in here like the plot, the characters etc. I still didn’t quite get the world building. Also, the writing felt like it was all over the place.
But all the dislikes aside, I liked the mains and the emotional moments in the book. The steamy scenes were okay that didn’t make me overwhelm like some other books.
Overall, this is a good book if the writing was okay.

Now listen, I’ve read a lot of vampire romances in my day. Some broody, some sparkly, some aggressively averse to garlic. But this one? This one said, “Fated mates? Great. Let’s get it done in chapter one. Strap in, sweetheart.” The pacing doesn’t walk—it sprints, combat boots on, middle fingers up. I was confused, intrigued, flustered, and 100% entertained.

These vampires are no longer lurking in shadows or sighing about eternal loneliness. They are sexy, dramatic, emotionally unavailable tabloid icons—and I would die for them.

And then there’s Beau. Sweet, surly Beau. At first, I wanted to throw him in a river. Preferably one with a current strong enough to humble his ego (Papa Boucher gets it). But somewhere between the emotional baggage and cursed (blessed????) mating heat, that grumpy man grew on me. Like mold. Sexy, emotionally damaged mold with great abs and unresolved trauma.

The romance goes from “we just met” to “I’d burn down the world for you” so fast my neck hurt from the whiplash. But once I accepted the chaos as my new reality, I was feral for it. And that ending? Chef’s kiss. We know who’s next on the soulmate train—and don’t worry, I’ve already got my Boucher Mate conspiracy board going for book three. I’m watching you, Nicole Jacquelyn. Closely.

This series has officially installed itself in my vampire-shaped heart. I want the drama. I want the blood. I want the hot, messy, absolutely unhinged love stories. Bring on the next bite.

I have previously read Nicole Jacquelyn’s other series so I was really excited to give her new Romantasy a go and I’m so glad I did.

The story follows Reese whose life is turned upside down when she meets Beau, a vampire who turns out to be her mate.

This book was SO much fun, there were so many funny moments that made me laugh out loud, in particular the toothbrushing scene which gave me “bring it on” movie flashbacks.

While being funny it still had its tender more serious moments - this book is perfect for people who want to switch off their brain and have a good time, it’s easy to follow and has so many well loved tropes.
I will definitely be continuing the series and can’t wait for the next book.

Very fast paced, an enjoyable read between a human and vampire , a bit different from any other vampire romance I've ever read before. A bit mysterious throughout but looking forward to the rest of the series
