I was really intrigued by the concept of this book, especially as an amnesiac romance, and the steup had a lot of promise. While the premis was strong, the execution didn’t work for me. I feel that the story tranlated a bit strangely in parts, and I was unable to connect with the direction the story ultimately took.

With that being said, I do believe this would be a greta pick for individuals who love this trope as well as a MMC who is fully committed to insuring the FMC’s pleasure. If that’s your vibe, this one might hit the right notes for you even if it didn’t land for me

A huge thank you to Harlequin Romance, NetGalley, ad Tara Pammi for this Advanced Reader Copy in exchange for my honest review

This was a fun second chance/amnesia story. Dolly, the former assistant and fake wife of billionaire Ares, gets a phone call from Ares after an accident that has given him amnesia. He doesn't remember their last fight, or the fact they were in a fake marriage to protect his money. Ares convinces Dolly to come to him in Greece to help protect him from his family and to figure out what secrets he has forgotten. Overall, a fun and engaging romance!

4 star read

I love an amnesia story. It’s bonkers from the start. Dolly/ Dahlia answers a video call from her boss, Ares, he’s been in a coma for 7 weeks after a car accident and can’t remember the weeks prior to the accident. So, doesn’t know he and Dahlia were in a marriage of convenience, had a huge fight when she confessed her feelings for him and he effectively broke her heart.

Now Ares is demanding she return to her job, and his feelings are hurt that she wasn’t by his side. Dahlia is so embarrassed and upset about the fight they had, she keeps it, and their contract marriage, a secret.

When she does join him in Greece, he convinces her to continue their fake engagement rouse (not knowing they are actually married). Ares does know something happened between them before the accident but not what. But he does know he is now super attracted to Dahlia.

Ares has some Autistic behaviors (hates crowds and loud situations, gets hyper focused, doesn’t understand human feelings or social cues, doesn’t like to be touched), and Dahlia takes care to accommodate him at work and social situations. He does do a fantastic thing, RESEARCH ON HOW TO PLEASURE A WOMAN. When they do finally get to bed, he’s got NOTES. What a fantastic micro trope.

There’s some plot points that are for Romance Reasons. Why Dahlia thought a marriage wouldn’t come out, her terrible family issues that aren’t resolved. I also didn’t get why Dolly is “Dolly” in her perspective but everyone on page calls her “Dahlia”.

Ares family is awful, which puts a villain on page that I liked.

Overall a quick fun read.

Quick Summary: A amnesiac romance

My Review: His Forgotten Wife by Tara Pammi is a Harlequin Presents romance novel. It is scheduled for release on 8/26/25.

About the Book: "His Forgotten Wife is a fake engagement, amnesia, Greek billionaire boss romance..."

In My Own Words: A seemingly neurodivergent genius turned billionaire enters into a secret arrangement with his PA. Due to an unfortunate accident, he suffers a memory loss, thereby forgetting everything that matters most.

What I Liked:

- Tension between the leads

- Troubled backgrounds of Dolly and Ares

- Reverse v-angle

- Character growth

- Eventual communication/reconciliation

What I Had Trouble With/Did Not Care for:

- Confusing POC

- The book detailing the event and all the other stuff that went with it

- Inconsistency with regard to strength in a particular character, even though it was alluded to often

My Final Say: This was an okay read. As a fan of stories with amnesia as part of the storyline, I found this to be meh. It was mentioned, but it was not necessarily explored. Ultimately, this gets a mixed bag grade.

All a bit too confusing: her not knowing what he remembers, him remembering what they told him, and for both of them to talk would have been the easiest solution. Even my suspension of belief needs support in some cases.

I received from the Publisher a complimentary digital advanced review copy of the book in exchange for a honest review.
