The audiobook was great, I enjoyed the narrator.
This was a solid historical cozy mystery with a beginnings of a romance. I enjoyed the setting and found myself instantly invested in Minnie, the protagonist. I liked her dynamic with Stephen and would like to see it develop further in the next book/s.
The mystery itself was quite obvious, but I didn't really mind.
Spoiler ahead...
Did Minnie's dead husband have to possibly be a criminal? This is the trope in romance I like the least. Making the previous love into some kind of bad guy, or less suitable, just to prop up the new love interest. She could've simply loved her husband and be ready to move on after his death. I don't like the need to make the current love interest some kind of one and only if the other character was in love previously with someone else.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this! I thought the narrator did an excellent job voicing all the different characters. The setting was also a nice change from the usual cozy mystery and the story kept me guessing.

I really wanted to love this promised Grecian cozy mystery. The narrator for some reason just absolutely ruined it for me, making me hate the MC for absolutely no reason.

I loved this! As a fan of Sullivan’s historical romance, I am very happy about this jump to cozy mystery. It’s really well done, and I can’t wait for more in this world.
