I LOVE THIS BOOK!!! This will be a shorter review because I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this book.
The first thing that I want to applaud is how the author gave a unique and likable personality to each and every character in this book, even the puppy. Everyone in this book was such a good friend to each other, and it sets a really good example for readers, and I know that this story about friendship will inspire readers.
The other thing that was great about this book were the illustrations. WOW! The amount of detail was impressive, and I really liked the cute/kawaii art style that the illustrator used, as it matched the youthful, hopeful, and joyful tone of the overall book.
Everyone should be reading this book!!

This picture book had nice illustrations, but the story was just fluff. Three girls are friends and work together. Cute but not much there.

The Sunshine Queens by Sherri Shepherd cover just radiated joy, and I'm happy to say the inside is just as bright! The illustrations are gorgeous; they're full of color and personality, and I loved seeing how each of the girls had their own unique style.

The story is about Chloe and her best friends, the Sunshine Queens, and their race against time to get to Chloe's dance performance. There's a runaway puppy, wardrobe malfunctions, you name it! It's a simple story, and honestly, the little problems they face are solved quickly, but it's all in good fun.

It's a sweet, lighthearted read about the importance of friendship and supporting each other, and that message really shines through.
I think it's a great choice for a bedtime story or a quick read-aloud, and it's a wonderful celebration of girl power!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

An adorable and colorful adventure with a group of best friends who call themselves the Sunshine Girls!
Chloe has a big dance performance tonight, and her jitters continue throughout the night as the girls get ready for the show and admire Alejandra's new puppy Honey. Will they all make it in time to watch Chloe on the stage?
This book was a lighthearted read about a close group of friends and their daily lives/interactions. I was initially drawn to the cover of this book, and the title, and the sparkle and fun illustrations continued throughout the book's illustrations. I do think that the conflicts presented in the book were a bit lackluster, and resolved quick enough that they weren't necessary for the plot. The relationship between the girls, and them complimenting each other's difference is something that I would love to see more of in picture books, which is just one reason to recommend this book to students!

Chloe, Alejandra, Jade, and Zara are The Sunshine Queens. As Chloe prepares for her dance performance, she's counting on her best friends to be in the front row cheering her on. Between dealing with a new puppy, outfit mishaps, and getting their hair just right, the girls have to race the clock to get to the show on time. The illustrations are beautifully done and the characters are drawn in a way that lets their personalities really shine through. This picture book is a sweet reminder of the power of friendship and the challenges we can overcome with a strong support system. We love to see girls supporting girls!

Chloe, Alejandra, Jade, and Zara (otherwise known as the Sunshine Queens) are the very best of friends. When Chloe has a dance recital, the other girls plan to be in the very front row supporting their bestie. But when Alejandra's new pup Honey sends them on a wild chase after her, they're stuck rushing to get there. Will they make it in time?

This is an adorably illustrated and sweet story of teamwork, support, and that special bond between a group of girl friends.

The Sunshine Queens is a wondeful and beautifully illustrated story about a group of 4 friends and their new member, a cute little dog! I love the bonds shown between the characters, the group's interactions with the elders and the neighbours and Honey, the dog, is just adorable!

The text by Sherri Shepherd is engaging to follow and the 4 friends have distinct voices which are noticeable in the writing. I really liked that! I also liked how anxiety is shown and dealt with, the support and love the 4 friends have for each other and how aware they are of their feelings and thoughts!

The illustrations by Tanisha Cherislin are beautiful, so full of details with beautiful colors and textures and expressions! I really loved looking at each spread of this book.

Very cute and fun story that I enjoyed! I find it's a little bit too much text per page for littles, but this will make a fun book for kids ages 6-8. I like this story of friendship and being there for each other!

Thank you so much for this arc!

This is such a sweet, feel good story. I love how supportive the girls are with each other. They have such a strong friendship. It definitely made me feel nostalgic for those days.

The illustration is gorgeous. I love how unique each character is drawn, from their physical features (thank you diversity!) to their outfits and styles. I would have loved to read stories about this group of friends when I was younger.

*The Sunshine Queens* by Sherri Shepherd is a beautifully illustrated book with a stunning and eye-catching color palette. The story centers on a close group of young girls who support each other through both good times and challenges. I especially love the strong message of female friendship and the wonderful representation of children of color. It is so important for children to see themselves reflected in stories, and this book does an excellent job of creating a world where these girls can thrive together. The girls have diverse interests but always know they can count on one another. Although a few pages use white text on a white background, making some parts hard to read, the book’s warmth and beauty shine through. I can imagine young girls wanting to revisit this title again and again. I would rate it 5 out of 5 stars and would happily recommend or gift it to any special young girl. I received an advanced reader copy from NetGalley and Tommy Nelson.
