Dangerous Affair by Sandra Owens is a fast-paced story rooted in the strength of family, both biological and chosen. Quinn is a strong, independent woman who values her freedom and fears losing herself in a relationship. When she goes missing, Liam O’Rourke, a former Army Ranger and member of the Phoenix Three security team, is sent to find her. Sparks fly the moment they meet, and their connection only intensifies as danger closes in. While this book can be read as a standalone, the camaraderie among the Phoenix Three adds a wonderful layer of continuity for fans of the series.
The story takes readers on a wild, action-packed ride.. I could not put this book down. A definite winner—I’m already looking forward to the next installment!

Thank you to the author, NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of this book for review consideration. I am voluntarily leaving this review which is my honest, unbiased opinion.

I definitely enjoyed Dangerous Affair!
This book is action packed with danger, conspiracies, romance, and intrigue. Liam is such a protector with golden retriever energy. And Quinn is such a strong and sassy character. Both of their backstories are well developed and the chemistry was easy to see from the beginning. I'm not a huge fan of the insta-love trope, but this was handled beautifully, and considering the situations the MCs found themselves in, it makes sense and I didn't mind at all. And of course, that comes with the drama - and who doesn't love drama.
I'd classify it as a mostly closed door romance - mostly because while there are a couple descriptions here and there, they're very tame. So if you're looking for extra spicy this isn't it babes. BUT, if you're looking for a swoon-worth MMC, a badass, slightly broken FMC, a mystery with some high level players, and definitely intrigue, then I highly recommend.
Ideally, I'd give it 4.5 starts.

A mysterious substance, an investigator, and a photojournalist combine to create an explosive story by Sandra Owens.
Dangerous Secrets earns a 5-star rating for its "edge of your seat" story about a photojournalist and the investigator
hired to find her..
Liam rescues Quinn from her former boyfriend who is trying to prevent her from telling the sheriff about
a contaminated lake. They are now on a mission to find out exactly what's causing the children to get sick after swimming
in the lake.
From the first page to the last, Dangerous Affair keeps you spellbound and waiting for the third and final book in
this series.

This book was so good. Lots of action and suspense. I didn't want to put this book down once I started it.

Insta-love plus danger equals a fun story.
Quinn is an investigative photojournalist. Her last lover inadvertently clues her in on something that she must investigate. Liam, of course, is the hero of the story. I’m rating these characters at five stars. So happy to see a female protagonist with an interesting career.
Quinn and Liam definitely had a fiery physical relationship and good chemistry. I had a harder time believing in their feelings for each other. She seemed like she drifted from one quick relationship to another, so I would have liked to see more reason for her deciding that this one was different. He seemed like he fell before knowing much about her. Four stars for this.
The suspense and action made for a thrilling read. Five strong stars for this. Owens is a master at creating the tension.
The story was interesting and kept me reading far into the night. Another strong book for a fabulous author. Five stars outweighs the single four star section.

After reading the description of this book, I added it to my TBR immediately. It sounded like a fun read with danger, romance, adventure...and I was NOT disappointed. I absolutely LOVED this book. The chemistry between Quinn and Liam was spicy and the banter was *chefs kiss* perfection. I could not put this book down. I am hooked on this series and need book 3 ASAP!!!

This is the second book in the Phoenix Three series and follows Liam and Quinn’s chemistry-at-first-sight journey, packed with danger and intrigue. When Quinn goes missing, her father reaches out to the Phoenix Three for help. Liam steps in and finds her in a remote cabin, held captive by her ex. What was meant to be a rescue mission quickly turns into a high-stakes operation when they discover Quinn unknowingly holds evidence her ex is willing to kill for.
The story takes readers on a wild, action-packed ride as Liam and Quinn work with the other partners of the Phoenix Three to expose whoever is dumping dangerous chemicals into a lake and harming children. With plenty of suspense, witty banter, and growing romance, this book keeps you hooked from start to finish.
I can’t wait for Book 3 and Cooper’s story!

I really enjoyed this fast paced romance filled with suspense. Quinn is a photojournalist who is on the trail of a new story involving sick children. Unfortunately, the lead was given to her unknowingly by the possessive ex-fling who was going to use the information to bribe a very powerful person. Next thing she knows is in way deeper than she ever expected. Lucky for her, Liam is on the case thanks to his estranged family who suggests him and his Phoenix Three brothers as the solution. What follows is a great wild ride that I didn't want to put down. Thank you to Netgalley and Harlequin for the advanced copy.

Liam has encountered plenty of danger in his life but nothing as dangerous as his feelings for Quinn Sullivan. She is absolutely sure that no man will ever let her live the life she craves photographing children in peril. Its up to Liam to not only keep her safe but to convince her that he'll never stand in the way of her life.
Sometimes you just need a good romantic suspense book and this book certainly fulfills that need. Ms Owens doesn't write a lot of books so every one is special. Her characters are reminiscent of people you might call your friends, easy to read about and easy to become involved with. As always the story line has enough twists and turns to keep the reader on the edge of their seat.
This is the second book in the series and I'm anxiously waiting for the third.

Loved the book! It's an engaging and entertaining novel that had me hooked from the very first page. I loved the characters and felt invested in their story. I especially love the brotherhood between the men of the Phoenix Three.
I'm giving this 4.5 stars, taking off half a star because the romance scenes didn't feel as authentic as in the author's other books.
Fans of the genre will love this book. The author is on my must read authors' list.
