Set in New Jersey, Nadia is on her road to accepting her new normal. Her new normal with a chronic illness. One she is having trouble accepting like many of us would. She lost her job and cant seem to find herself anymore. This results in her letting that negative voice in her head take over. That feeling of being alone. Nobody quite understanding you, hell, you not even understanding what’s even going on with you. When the depression hits and debilitates you.
This book was so freaking good! It was a mix of romance and the pain of struggling with a chronic illness. It held so much emotion, I was holding on by a thread. I absolutely loved how fluid this book was. The flow of the story was seamless in my opinion. I never got bored, I never thought the main characters were too much. It was honestly such a great story and very heartfelt.
Thank you Kaye Publicity for the audio and Avon Books for the physical copy. I 100% recommend everyone read this! But check trigger warnings if that is something that it’s important to you.

liked 32 Days in May—it wasn’t quite what I was expecting, but it still delivered a heartfelt, emotional story. I went in thinking it would be a bit more lighthearted, but instead found a tender romance with some deeper themes. The representation of autoimmune diseases was handled well and added a meaningful layer to the story.
The romance leaned a little into the insta-love territory for my taste, but the chemistry between the characters was sweet. As someone from the area where the book is set, I couldn’t help but notice that the narrator’s accent was more New York than Philly, which pulled me out of the story a bit at times. Still, it was a good listen overall and I appreciated the emotional honesty and representation throughout.

what incredible raw, emotional and atmospheric writing. Every line in this book was written with intention. I loved this. Nadia and Marco have my heart.

I loved this slow burn romance. Nadia's journey is one that anyone can relate to, but especially those living with a chronic illness. she's set up by her Dr. with a relative of his, a famous actor as it turns out, Marco. She takes the opportunity, because really what does she have to lose, and finds herself in a whirl wind romance.
The characters were well developed and it was wonderful to see how Nadia navigated through her diagnosis and back to finding herself. I would check the TW if you have any concerns about the content as it does dive deep into what it's like to have a chronic illness.

This novel follows Nadia as she lives a lowkey lifestyle with her lupus diagnosis, just trying to live through it—that is until her doctor sets her up on a blind date with a relative, who turns out to be a famous actor, Marco. She doesn’t expect to have anything to lose, so she loses herself on the date. What she doesn’t expect is to like him so much or for him to propose that they date for a whole month before he leaves their little town to return to his reality. Nadia decides to be a new person, free of her lupus and daily struggles with him and see what fun can be had in one month. What they don’t expect is what will happen by the end of it all.
Things I loved:
- the characters are unapologetically themselves, so bold and real.
- the plot is fun and sad and the relationships build that even more so. The development is gripping and engaging from start to finish.
- this feels real and refreshing!
- gives how to lose a guy in ten days mixed with the fault in our stars vibes!

As soon as I read the synopsis for 32 Days in May, I knew I had to read it. As an individual with a chronic illness, I saw parts of myself and my experience in Nadia’s journey. I can so relate to not wanting to tell someone you’re sick (or to even accept that you are.)
Her relationship with Marco was such a delightful whirlwind. I loved seeing their adventures and how it really brought Nadia back to herself after such a surprising diagnosis. The ending was a little hard to read and I recommend checking TW if chronic illnesses are something you relate to. I also really enjoyed all of the mentions of the Jersey Shore.

I really enjoyed 32 Days in May!
This book is the perfect summer read. It has romance, but there’s so much more to the book than that. It’s hard not to love Nadia and all her woe is me. But being diagnosed with lupus was definitely a blow for her. And Marco, a washed up actor. Who isn’t your typical Hollywood playboy, is a perfect fit for Nadia as she tries to get out of her slump of feeling sorry for herself. In 32 days we watch as these two become closer and find their true selves with each other. It’s a beautiful friendship and love story equipped with humor along the way as well.
I highly recommend this book and I give it 4 stars!

This book focuses on a woman who receives the shocking diagnosis of lupus. Nadia decides to return to a place that holds many beautiful memories - a small town on the Jersey shore. Nadia begins to date a handsome, fun man, Marco, who is also a former TV star. However, Nadia fights her developing feelings for this man, who is clueless about her medical condition. Does Nadia give in and fall in love with Mr. Perfect? That's for me to know and you to find out. The narration was top-notch.

I love this start to finish. The narration for Nadia was so strong. She captured the Italian American esthetic perfectly. I loved the angle of Marco being a washed up celebrity. That was a nice change from the celebrity romance trope. I learned a lot about lupus and the representation of the disease was done well and with grace. Even with heavier topics the romance shown bright, I highly enjoyed this!

About a week ago I was offered an early read of 32 Days in May by Betty Corrello and maybe it was the beachy vibe, maybe it was the Jersey setting (yea, probably most definitely this) but I devoured it in a day.
This isn’t your typical beach read but it should definitely be your next one if you like
Jersey shore vibes (not Snooki and the gang, but definitely if you live in PA/NJ and grew up going down the shore you will get it)
Messy but real characters with real problems
Found family
Fake Dating
Nadia, navigating life after a lupus diagnosis, and Marco, a former actor trying to rebuild himself. They agree to date for just one month–no strings attached–it’s a sweet escape, until their chemistry forces them closer, and Nadia struggles with how to continue to keep her diagnosis to herself, or trust someone new.
This was not your typical sugary sweet romance. I loved how the characters were ones I would want in my own life, so endearing to me I can’t wait to check out Corrello’s previous book, Summertime Punchline.
Extra thanks to the publisher for including the bonus audiobook with this package, I had a rough past week myself and probably would not have been able to read this by pub date without it. The narration was fantastic, and Joy Nash nailed the characters. I felt the accents (or maybe just lilts/regional dialects?) were spot on, when appropriate.

After losing her job and receiving a life-altering chronic illness diagnosis, Nadia retreats to the Jersey shore to figure out what comes next. Enter Marco, her doctor’s hot cousin she was set up with. After one wild night, the two agree to a “Sweet November” style deal: one month of dating, no expectations.
Joy Nash nailed Jersey girl energy. Think Italian American sass with perfectly timed delivery and wisecracks that had me laughing out loud. She brings Nadia to life in the best way.
This book is funny, tender, and a little bit messy (in a good way!). Nadia’s journey toward accepting her diagnosis and redefining herself is a beautiful and emotional story. Adding her no strings fun with Marco on top of it made this one a delight to read. This book is filled with banter, sarcasm, and friends busting each other’s chops. And woven throughout all that snark is tension and tender marshmallow gooeyness that makes for a perfect combination.
Thank you HarperAudio for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Ugh! This was such a sweet story. Joy Nash did an excellent job with narration. Marco and his New York accent were spot on, as were the Italian accents. And age did a great job with her narration of Nadia.
This audio book has all the feels. I felt so much compassion for Nadia. She was dealing with so much and not sharing her struggles with Marco.
Marco sounds like such an awesome guy. And you could really feel his love for Nadia. Like, holy cow, he loves this girl! This one is messy but so, so lovely. The connection between Nadia and Marco is undeniable.
I really enjoyed this one and definitely recommend.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.25 but I’ll round her up to 5.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Audio adult for the ARC in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

32 Days in May should be on everyone’s summer TBR — it’s the perfect romance that packs an emotional punch. It was fitting that I read this book during the titular month because the entirety of the novel takes place at the Jersey Shore in May. I’ve seen this novel described as insta-love but I think it falls more in line with insta-attraction. Nadia and Marco’s chemistry is apparent from the jump but their cautious unfurling is what sets their relationship apart. I enjoyed their easy banter and delighted at the naughty undertones in their flirting!
At the start of the novel, Nadia has been diagnosed with Lupus and her healing journey is the story’s true cornerstone. Betty Corrello pens Nadia’s intimate, unstable progression with care, refusing to shy away from harsh realities. Nadia is more than her diagnosis and she demonstrates her strength as she learns to navigate her new reality. Similarly, Marco’s struggle with addiction informs his own trajectory and it made me emotional as he and Nadia stood firm and supported each other through their hardships.
Listening to the audiobook was the right move, it truly made the story come alive. I loved Joy Nash’s narration and the realistic Jersey twang she uses fits Nadia to a T. I could envision exactly who Nadia was by the accent alone. I was also laughing out loud at Nash’s delivery of Nadia’s one-liners and felt like she embodied the quirky essence of Nadia’s character perfectly.
What You’ll Find:
-Jersey Shore setting
-Short term dating pact
-Chronic illness rep
-Sad Girl Summer vibes
-Actor x normal person
-Romantic Italian getaway

Nadia has recently been diagnosed with the autoimmune disease lupus. After this, her life as she once knew, comes crumbling down. Her support system doesn’t understand what she is going through. Her doctor encourages her to get out. On a whim, she accepts going out with her doctor’s cousin. When one night out turns into two, Nadia and Marco decide to date for only the month of May. As the month slowly ends, will Nadia get the courage to tell him about her diagnose? Will Marco reveal some of his deep secrets he’s hidden?

I was hesitant to start this book, thinking it would be overwhelmingly sad—but while it did bring tears, they were the kind that stay with you for all the right reasons. This story was heartfelt, funny, and deeply emotional in the best way.
The relationship between Nadia and Marco was beautifully developed. Watching them slowly let down their walls and open up to each other felt raw and real. When Nadia finally revealed her illness to Marco, it absolutely broke my heart—but it also deepened their bond in such a powerful and moving way.
This book is a beautiful exploration of vulnerability, love, and emotional healing. It made me laugh, cry, and root for the characters every step of the way. Highly recommended for anyone who loves an emotional romance with real depth.

This broke my heart!! I truly could not put this book down even though I was overly emotional! I loved the set up, the setting and their journey with my while heart.

“32 Days in May” was a good book, but it just wasn’t my cup of tea. It had a slow pace, and I never really got hooked into the story. The characters felt a little flat, and the story they were trying to tell didn’t feel truly connected to them. I kept waiting for the pace to pick up and for the story to get interesting, but it never did. I’m not upset with the plot itself—I just don’t think it really came through in this story.

I’m not one to draw comparisons often, but this one really did feel like a cross between Rebecca Serle and Elissa Sussman. Messy and imperfect people and emotions. Frustrating but understandable. I wanted to shake different characters to get them to break patterns or be more empathetic BUT there’s no dictating how someone deals with chronic illness or even being the friend or family. The only way is through.
The romance is a little serendipitous and kismet to balance the serious medical and emotional undertones. Nadia and Marco’s interactions are great. Sassy and totally entertaining. They fit together so well as they grow closer. And that New Jersey energy was fantastic.
It’s not totally perfect. As much as I appreciated the day by day chapters, it’s all about Nadia. I was craving Marco’s POV and more depth to his day to day in mirror of Nadia’s. There’s enough there to satisfy, but still.
Overall, it’s a winner and I also recommend the audiobook. The narrator did a fantastic job. I’ll have my eye out for more Betty Corrello books.

Thank you so much to Harper Audio or the gifted audiobook!
I wanted to love this one so much as so many of the reviews were amazing and my close friends also enjoyed, but something just didn't work for me.
I struggled to connect with the characters for some reason which I'm sad to say! The writing itself was good though and I'd read more from her in the future!
Overall, a hit for many but a miss for me!
The narrator was excellent though!

Oh my ❤️ This book is hilarious! hot! And it’s also heart felt. I love Marco and Nadia. Their banter is amazing, sizzling. But my favorite part about this book is how beautifully @bettycorrello wrote Nadia. I do not have lupus but I have felt betrayed my body. I know deeply the anxiety that comes when you just aren’t sure how your body will respond and Corrello wrote this in Nadia so well. Getting to be on a journey with her as she learns to trust herself, her body, and learn to love life in a big way again was an absolute gift. I highly recommend reading this. 💕❤️
