Everything I want in a romance book! This story was adorable but also had amazing depth to it. The chronic illness rep, slow burn relationship, and summer vibes were immaculate! Our FMC recently got diagnosed with lupus and she decides she wants to attempt a summer fling without telling him about her illness. It’s supposed to only last for the month of May but of course this will get complicated as their feeling develop and I LOVED the buildup of their relationship! Can’t wait to read this author’s previous book after how much I loved this one

There’s so much good stuff going on in this heartfelt romance, I loved some of the themes that are explored. Our heroine is grappling with the recent diagnosis of a chronic illness, so she’s not in the right headspace for a relationship. Our hero is in a messy place too, but they form a connection that is impossible to ignore. I loved the complexity of the characters and the fresh, nuanced storyline. I can honestly say I’ve never read a romance quite like this one, and there were moments that were really, really good. There was also something about the writing style that kept me feeling like an outsider looking in. Not sure how to describe it, other than to say that it felt abrupt at times, and that’s what keeps this from being a 5-star read for me. But it’s well worth the read.
The story follows Nadia, a firecracker of a woman who was recently diagnosed with lupus. It’s an illness that can feel like a death sentence at times, wreaking havoc on the body with no end in sight. So when she’s set up with Marco, an actor who is dealing with his own issues, it’s not a match made in heaven. The two have fun though, and it’s a refreshing break from the reality of their lives. Since Marco is only in town temporarily, Nadia and Marco agree to a month of fun, carefree dates before they part ways. But their connection gets stronger every day, revealing the potential for something big and scary.
I heard such good things about this book before diving in, and I can see why. I’ll definitely be on the lookout for more from Corrello in the future, she’s got some serious talent. I empathized with Nadia, but also loved her fire and strength. She’s a strong heroine who knows just how to handle the wildcard that is Marco. I liked him more as the story progressed, and it was great seeing them grow closer when that wasn’t something they were trying to do. There were a few moments that didn’t quite work for me, but the vast majority of the book is fantastic. The voice also feels unique, and I’m excited to see the author’s writing continue to grow.
Audio note: Great audio, but I recommend listening to the sample first. Nadia is from the Jersey Shore, so the narrator uses an accent throughout the audiobook. It adds a lot of personality to the performance, but not everyone will love it. Joy Nash is a new-to-me narrator, and I think she did an excellent job. The runtime (9-10 hours) is perfect for a single day binge, and the women’s fiction crossover vibes are ideal for the format. There’s a little bit of spice, but it’s not particularly descriptive, so probably not a bad choice for a workday listen. Definitely recommended in the format overall.

I was a huge fan of Betty’s debut and had been greatly looking forward to this and it did not disappoint one bit!!!! The seemingly effortless, natural infusion of humor in the midst of profound and raw realness is masterful. It was tender and laugh-out-loud funny and had me sobbing and swooning and giggling and clutching my chest. I am sat for everything this woman writes. P.s. I think all audiobook narrators should use new jersey accents. It makes me so happy I can’t explain it.

this book is so genuine, raw and vulnerable and I absolutely ate it up and loved every single second of it. I’m such a sucker for a dating arrangement with a due date!!!!!!!
what i love the most about this book is the way it represents mental health and chronic illnesses and its limitations, but how that can make you see life from another standpoint. how sometimes that can make your life look more colorful instead of gray. it’s full of emotional and sentimental moments, but many of them also make you think how lucky we are to be alive and to enjoy of the people around us.
betty, what a masterpiece you wrote!! please take us to evergreen many more times, i never wanna leave😭
The audiobook was absolutely phenomenal, so enganging. The narrator did a great job, I would listen to this audiobook in the future many times

3.5 stars rounded up to four! Sad girl summer 😭 this book is definitely not for everyone and is quite heavy but how they found eachother was beautiful. Nadia and Marco each had their own big issues and they pulled eachother up little by little. I enjoyed being in their world even though this was not a normal light and fluffy romance.

The realness of this novel is next level. Betty does an amazing job of balancing heartbreak and devastation with comedic breaks and heartfelt moments. This was a fun read, and embarking on their romance with them was exciting, but it also hit some hard and heavy topics like addiction and chronic illness The best books are ones that are well balanced and Betty does that so well!

I ADORED this book! I have posted about it twice already on my Instagram stories, and interacted with the author. It was so refreshing as someone with a chronic illness to see that represented in a book with a happy ending, and the happy ending didn't involve a magical cure. Yay for representation!

If you are loving the sad girl summer books like me, you need to read 32 days in May immediately - This book felt like the magic of falling in love with wit, charm, and do much depth.
Nadia is navigating life after a lupus diagnosis and Marco is a former actor trying to rebuild himself and they agree to date just for the month of may- no strings attached. But of course things get messy. It’s stacked with some of my favorite tropes like found family and opposites attract. Ultimately these two embark on a journey to rediscover their zest for life, filled with swoon-worthy dates and even a romantic Italian Getaway. And let me tell you, Marco is an absolute dream, after not even 24 hours apart this man is calling her to say he can’t believe he missed a day with her.
And anytime he calls Nadia baby, I swear my heart seriously skipped a beat.
This Is easily one of my favorite books of the entire year.

Set in New Jersey, Nadia is on her road to accepting her new normal. Her new normal with a chronic illness. One she is having trouble accepting like many of us would. She lost her job and cant seem to find herself anymore. This results in her letting that negative voice in her head take over. That feeling of being alone. Nobody quite understanding you, hell, you not even understanding what’s even going on with you. When the depression hits and debilitates you.
This book was so freaking good! It was a mix of romance and the pain of struggling with a chronic illness. It held so much emotion, I was holding on by a thread. I absolutely loved how fluid this book was. The flow of the story was seamless in my opinion. I never got bored, I never thought the main characters were too much. It was honestly such a great story and very heartfelt.
Thank you Kaye Publicity for the audio and Avon Books for the physical copy. I 100% recommend everyone read this! But check trigger warnings if that is something that it’s important to you.

liked 32 Days in May—it wasn’t quite what I was expecting, but it still delivered a heartfelt, emotional story. I went in thinking it would be a bit more lighthearted, but instead found a tender romance with some deeper themes. The representation of autoimmune diseases was handled well and added a meaningful layer to the story.
The romance leaned a little into the insta-love territory for my taste, but the chemistry between the characters was sweet. As someone from the area where the book is set, I couldn’t help but notice that the narrator’s accent was more New York than Philly, which pulled me out of the story a bit at times. Still, it was a good listen overall and I appreciated the emotional honesty and representation throughout.

what incredible raw, emotional and atmospheric writing. Every line in this book was written with intention. I loved this. Nadia and Marco have my heart.

I loved this slow burn romance. Nadia's journey is one that anyone can relate to, but especially those living with a chronic illness. she's set up by her Dr. with a relative of his, a famous actor as it turns out, Marco. She takes the opportunity, because really what does she have to lose, and finds herself in a whirl wind romance.
The characters were well developed and it was wonderful to see how Nadia navigated through her diagnosis and back to finding herself. I would check the TW if you have any concerns about the content as it does dive deep into what it's like to have a chronic illness.

This novel follows Nadia as she lives a lowkey lifestyle with her lupus diagnosis, just trying to live through it—that is until her doctor sets her up on a blind date with a relative, who turns out to be a famous actor, Marco. She doesn’t expect to have anything to lose, so she loses herself on the date. What she doesn’t expect is to like him so much or for him to propose that they date for a whole month before he leaves their little town to return to his reality. Nadia decides to be a new person, free of her lupus and daily struggles with him and see what fun can be had in one month. What they don’t expect is what will happen by the end of it all.
Things I loved:
- the characters are unapologetically themselves, so bold and real.
- the plot is fun and sad and the relationships build that even more so. The development is gripping and engaging from start to finish.
- this feels real and refreshing!
- gives how to lose a guy in ten days mixed with the fault in our stars vibes!

Thank you Harper Audio and Avon Books for my gifted copies. All opinions are my own.
As soon as I read the synopsis for 32 Days in May, I knew I had to read it. As an individual with a chronic illness, I saw parts of myself and my experience in Nadia’s journey. I can so relate to not wanting to tell someone you’re sick (or to even accept that you are.)
Her relationship with Marco was such a delightful whirlwind. I loved seeing their adventures and how it really brought Nadia back to herself after such a surprising diagnosis. The ending was a little hard to read and I recommend checking TW if chronic illnesses are something you relate to. I also really enjoyed all of the mentions of the Jersey Shore.

I really enjoyed 32 Days in May!
This book is the perfect summer read. It has romance, but there’s so much more to the book than that. It’s hard not to love Nadia and all her woe is me. But being diagnosed with lupus was definitely a blow for her. And Marco, a washed up actor. Who isn’t your typical Hollywood playboy, is a perfect fit for Nadia as she tries to get out of her slump of feeling sorry for herself. In 32 days we watch as these two become closer and find their true selves with each other. It’s a beautiful friendship and love story equipped with humor along the way as well.
I highly recommend this book and I give it 4 stars!

This book focuses on a woman who receives the shocking diagnosis of lupus. Nadia decides to return to a place that holds many beautiful memories - a small town on the Jersey shore. Nadia begins to date a handsome, fun man, Marco, who is also a former TV star. However, Nadia fights her developing feelings for this man, who is clueless about her medical condition. Does Nadia give in and fall in love with Mr. Perfect? That's for me to know and you to find out. The narration was top-notch.

I love this start to finish. The narration for Nadia was so strong. She captured the Italian American esthetic perfectly. I loved the angle of Marco being a washed up celebrity. That was a nice change from the celebrity romance trope. I learned a lot about lupus and the representation of the disease was done well and with grace. Even with heavier topics the romance shown bright, I highly enjoyed this!

About a week ago I was offered an early read of 32 Days in May by Betty Corrello and maybe it was the beachy vibe, maybe it was the Jersey setting (yea, probably most definitely this) but I devoured it in a day.
This isn’t your typical beach read but it should definitely be your next one if you like
Jersey shore vibes (not Snooki and the gang, but definitely if you live in PA/NJ and grew up going down the shore you will get it)
Messy but real characters with real problems
Found family
Fake Dating
Nadia, navigating life after a lupus diagnosis, and Marco, a former actor trying to rebuild himself. They agree to date for just one month–no strings attached–it’s a sweet escape, until their chemistry forces them closer, and Nadia struggles with how to continue to keep her diagnosis to herself, or trust someone new.
This was not your typical sugary sweet romance. I loved how the characters were ones I would want in my own life, so endearing to me I can’t wait to check out Corrello’s previous book, Summertime Punchline.
Extra thanks to the publisher for including the bonus audiobook with this package, I had a rough past week myself and probably would not have been able to read this by pub date without it. The narration was fantastic, and Joy Nash nailed the characters. I felt the accents (or maybe just lilts/regional dialects?) were spot on, when appropriate.

After losing her job and receiving a life-altering chronic illness diagnosis, Nadia retreats to the Jersey shore to figure out what comes next. Enter Marco, her doctor’s hot cousin she was set up with. After one wild night, the two agree to a “Sweet November” style deal: one month of dating, no expectations.
Joy Nash nailed Jersey girl energy. Think Italian American sass with perfectly timed delivery and wisecracks that had me laughing out loud. She brings Nadia to life in the best way.
This book is funny, tender, and a little bit messy (in a good way!). Nadia’s journey toward accepting her diagnosis and redefining herself is a beautiful and emotional story. Adding her no strings fun with Marco on top of it made this one a delight to read. This book is filled with banter, sarcasm, and friends busting each other’s chops. And woven throughout all that snark is tension and tender marshmallow gooeyness that makes for a perfect combination.
Thank you HarperAudio for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Ugh! This was such a sweet story. Joy Nash did an excellent job with narration. Marco and his New York accent were spot on, as were the Italian accents. And age did a great job with her narration of Nadia.
This audio book has all the feels. I felt so much compassion for Nadia. She was dealing with so much and not sharing her struggles with Marco.
Marco sounds like such an awesome guy. And you could really feel his love for Nadia. Like, holy cow, he loves this girl! This one is messy but so, so lovely. The connection between Nadia and Marco is undeniable.
I really enjoyed this one and definitely recommend.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.25 but I’ll round her up to 5.
