Joy Nash is an absolute delight of a narrator. I’ve previously reviewed the book, so I want to say all of the wonderful things about the narration. And it is, indeed, wonderful. Her dialect work is amazing (I’ve previously listened to her read Penny Reid books, so I thought she was southern) - the intricacies of the South Philly and Jersey Shore sound is amazing. Just love, love, love. Hire her for everything.

A beautifully written and heartbreaking story about a young woman, Nadia, who is recently diagnosed with Lupus and is slowly learning what this means for her mentally, her body and her future. Nadia falls for this guy; Marco and she tries to keep her diagnosis from him. This was an emotional read as I followed Nadia on her new journey of re-self-discovery. This felt like an authentic story that showcased the isolation that can happen after a diagnosis and how important it is to have friends or family to help pick you up. This was a wonderful story about grieving what once was, friendship and connection.

What a beautiful, well thought out, emotional roller coaster of a ride... filled with laughter, love, friendships, and... pain.
Nadia is a writer. She loves her job and her life (mostly), but doesn't understand why she's been feeling so tired and out of it lately. And then, on the day of her BIG presentation, she oversleeps... and misses it. Not only that, but she is then fired. FIRED. And she then goes into a tailspin... self-loathing, sadness, grief... And, she finally goes to see a doc to see if they can find out what is actually going on with her... and then it all comes out. She has Lupus! (NOTE: This is NOT a spoiler. It is clearly given in the first line of the description of the book!)
While undergoing the gamut of doctors that she needs to see in order to figure all of this out, she comes upon a Rheumatologist who wants to set her up with someone in his family. Someone who is somewhat famous. She figures she has nothing to lose at this point, and goes ahead with meeting him. BUT... STOP THE PRESSES!! He is gorgeous!! And funny, and kind... and has a whole set of his own baggage.
And so they come up with the idea that they will spend ONE MONTH together. No strings attached. Once MAY is over, they will both move on with their lives...
But things don't always go as planned, do they???
Such a sweet, beautiful story, but *** if you are touched by someone who has LUPUS, beware, as this one really tugs on your heartstrings at times... ***
But then again, for most of the book I was literally LAUGHING out loud!! So, it's kind of a toss up!
5 big, bright, shining 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 for me!!

32 Days in May on audiobook was just not a book I enjoyed listening to. I could not feel any connection with the characters. The chemistry between characters was flat. I wanted to feel something for the characters, but it never got to that point for me.
This is a book that I know many will like and would be a good one for a book club to read and discuss.
Thank you NetGalley, Betty Corrello and HarperAudio Adult for the copy of 32 Days in May. This is my personal review

I think Betty’s writing just isn’t for me. I can see why people like her books but both of them have just been missing the spark I am typically looking for in a romance.
The whole book felt kind of rushed to me. I also do not understand how you can fall in love with someone while hiding the biggest part of who you are from them. Chronic illness takes over so much of one’s life but we are supposed to believe that she is able to completely hide it from the mmc and still be vulnerable enough with him for them to fall in love.
This books was just “fine” to me, I’m not sure if I’ll read her next book, only time will tell.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the ARC. I really love this book and I especially enjoyed the disability/health representation. I think this might be one of the best books in the romance genre that I’ve read in 2025. I also thought the narrator did a very good job with the narration. Even though this book talked about some tough subjects, It still had a lot of heart to it, and I enjoyed the romance. I am definitely going to check out more books by this author in the future.

Nadia and Marco start to fake date during the month of May, promising each other they’ll be done by the time June comes. They start to fall into each other’s lives, they travel, they laugh, they cry. Will their promise persist and they’ll be done by June? Or will they accidentally fall in love and make each other’s lives immeasurably better? Read to find out!
I love this book. The characters felt incredibly grounded and real, and their banter was A++. If you love rom-coms and love a few classic tropes (fake dating, normie/celebrity dating to name a few), this book is for you. The balance between the real lives of the characters and their relationship was done so well that I found the book to be incredibly emotional. I cannot wait to dive into other works by this author - it was that good!
The audiobook was also amazingly narrated-the Jersey accent was SPOT on.
Thank you to the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Wow, what a beautifully written book. Get ready for an emotional roller coaster with this one. It follows a young woman who is dealing with the emotional and physical toll of a Lupus diagnosis. When she fake dates someone for a month, she not only finds herself in love, but also living again. This story was about your support systems, the trauma of a diagnosis, the journey to find who you are and how to move forward with life. It made me laugh and cry and everything in between. I thought the characters were realistic and incredibly well developed. I loved that it took place at the Jersey Shore and in Philadelphia. A wonderfully written book. I listened and read this and both versions were wonderful.
Thank you netgalley for my advanced reader copies.

The audio narration of this book was so, so good. I almost felt like I was watching a tv show in my imagination with the world that was being built through Corrello's writing.
Nadia is dealing with the grief of living with a newly diagnosed chronic illness. In walks Marco to flip her world upside down and have her fall head over heels in a few weeks during their one month dating agreement.
The banter was top tier among Nadia, Marco and all supporting characters. Everyone had powerful personalities. The emotion was real. Even though it was a little insta-lovey, I can't actually say I would have acted any differently had I been in Nadia's shoes. This was moving and emotional yet playful and hilarious. Definitely recommend listening if you can!

My first read by this author and I will be going to binge everything now!
This was such a fun story but a mix of sad thrown in. Nadia is diagnosed with Lupus and her life is turned upside down. She moves to Jersey Shore for a while to gather herself and figure out how to live with this new life. Her doctor wants her to get out more and sets her up with his cousin, Marco, who just so happens to be a famous movie star. They hit if off so well they decide that just for the month of May they will date and then go their separate ways. Marco's life is back and forth after losing an acting job and Nadia has no intention of telling him of her sickness so she can feel like a normal girl. But neither of them expects to have such an amazing connection and can't stand the thought of losing each other.
Nadia was such a strong character and I really enjoyed how even though she was struggling with this diagnosis she was trying to find a way to start a new life with a new normal. She and Marco were so funny and had me giggling so much. I loved how positive Marco was for Nadia and the banter between them was so much fun. This is definitely a must read for the summer when you want a little more conflict in your romance. Betty Corello really did this disability rep so well!
The narrator, Joy Nash, did such an amazing job of bringing these characters to life. She did the accent for them so well and I really felt like I was in the Jersey area with them. She put so much emotion in to the story and really got me tearing up.
Thank you so much Betty Corello, Avon Books, and Netgalley for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review!

“Do you cry when you eat ice cream because you know it won’t last forever.”
A raw, honest look into Nadia’s life as she battles Lupus and depression. Her thoughts are unfiltered and emotional in a way that feels so real and relatable. I loved the settings - Jersey beaches, NYC, Rome. The romance with Marco added a soft touch (wish we had his POV!). A beautiful read.
Thank you to NetGalley and HarperAudio for the ALC!

First off, this cover is beautiful! Second off, this audiobook was fantastic. Joy Nash did a great job bringing Nadia to life. Nadia has lupus and she goes thru different feelings throughout this book. She doesn’t wanna be sick, but unfortunately she has no choice about that. You can feel her emotions thru the pages. This book will make you laugh. It’ll make you cry. It’ll make you swoon. Marco and Nadia are just what each other needed. They discover this while spending time with each other throughout the month of May. The writing is beautiful. The story is beautiful. I loved this book so much!

This is an enlightening look at how challenging life can be when coping with a life changing illness and the internal fears that can arise in a potential relationship. I really appreciated the kindness and patience Marco had with Nadia, and I liked that they were both flawed and learning how to cope with their developing romance together. I listened to the audiobook and really enjoyed the narrators and the life they brought to the characters.

While 32 Days in May might look like a cute beach read when you look at the cover, but it is so much more! While it did have sweet moments and fun banter 32 Days in May also features characters who:
~Have a chronic illness
~Struggle with their mental health
~Pretend to be ok when they are not
What starts out as a no-strings fling that is only supposed to last one month turns into so much more. I loved every minute of it!
Joy Nash narrates and brings the characters to life. I love her accents and she makes it so easy to differentiate the characters.
I highly recommend this book and I look forward to reading more books by Betty Corrello.

32 Days in May is a love story, but not just one of them. While the beginning of the book felt a tad chaotic, it ends up being part of the charm. Pretty soon I was invested in Nadia’s life, and the people in it. While I’m not normally a fan of whirlwind romance, the writing of this one gifted me with the ability to happily suspend my disbelief and let it happen. The representation of how chronic disease can impact someone’s mental and physical health, their lives, and those around them felt all too real. In the end, I really enjoyed the end.

I have to thank the @netgalley and @harperaudio for this exceptional ALC!
We meet Nadia, a woman who has been recently diagnosed with Lupus. She ventures through a May-long journey to escape from the world she has to deal with and be careless for just a while. Shes set up via her rheumatologist with their former actor cousin, Marco, and the two conspire to have a fling throughout the month of May while Nadia escapes her reality.
While this book is marketed as a romance, well, it is. But there’s so much more beneath the surface. We live through the eyes of Nadia while she navigates herself through the ups and downs of living life with an autoimmune disorder. How she can be seemingly normal and yet still grieve her former life. Her romance with Marco is so much more than that. He sees her through her bad and is always looking towards the bright side. He’s truly a wonderful MMC and extremely real.
The narrator, Joy Nash, was so good. They brought the world from the pages to life and got me in my feels many times.
Although I don’t have lupus, or any other known autoimmune disorders, I think this book has excellent representation of the ins and outs of living with one

Incredible! Betty Corrello has written an incredibly moving, funny, heartbreaking, and authentic romance about a young woman, Nadia, recently diagnosed with lupus, and her attempts at a no-strings relationships with Marco, a former TV star for a month. Set on keeping her illness a secret, this book beautifully portrayed life, love, and more, all while living with a chronic illness. The chronic illness rep in this book was so unbelievably well done. Not only did I learn a lot about lupus, but I felt like the author did such an amazing job portraying an autoimmune disorder. There was so much to love about Nadia and Marco and their relationship with one another and how they both brought out the best in one another.
I loved how the book was written, with the start of each chapter as a new date in the month of May. I felt like it flowed so perfectly and I could not read this book fast enough! This book should definitely be on your summer reading list!

🎧I started with the physical book, and then switched to the audiobook, which was narrated by Joy Nash. This was my first audiobook narrated by Nash, and I loved how she perfectly fit Nadia’s character. Nash was just as I imagined Nadia would sound when I started reading the physical and I thought she did such a phenomenal job bringing the right type of emotion for this book. If you’re looking for a new audiobook with an amazing narrator, this is it!

The only thing better than reading this book in paperback form was listening to the audiobook! I AdORED Summertime Punchline and 32 Days in May was another amazing read for me! I love the laughter that Betty Corrello brings to my reading experiences!

4.5 stars!⭐️
This book surprised me in the best way. It’s a romance, of course, but it’s also an emotional story about chronic illness, identity, and the courage it takes to let someone truly see you.
Nadia retreats to Evergreen - the Jersey Shore town of her childhood - after a life changing lupus diagnosis, determined to keep her life small, quiet, and under control. Enter Marco, a former actor with baggage of his own, and a “just for May” fling that quickly becomes much more complicated.
As Nadia’s health struggles escalate alongside her growing feelings for Marco, the novel doesn’t shy away from the realities of chronic illness. Instead, it embraces them, shedding light on the emotional and physical toll with grace and empathy. It doesn’t pretend chronic illness is something that can be wished away with love - but it does show that love can coexist with pain.
Recommend if you love:
- beach-town romances
- emotional depth
- honest depictions of chronic illness
A huge thank you to Avon for the ARC & ALC! 💕

I was listening to this book and found I just did not… care. I got a little busy and forgot I was listening to it at all for a full week. I got 70% through and decided I didn’t want to finish.
The characters felt very flat for me and I felt no chemistry between the two main characters.
