This is a great accompaniment to listen to while reading the corresponding I Can Read book, or just to listen to in the car or at bedtime. My sons, ages 6 and 7, enjoy Pete the Cat books and audiobooks, and have enjoyed me reading these to them since they were toddlers. The appeal works so well to so many ages because of the rhymes and familiar activities Pete participates in. Pete s also a really groovy cat, and it's fun to follow his chill beachy vibes.

The narrator does a great job of narrating in a mellow voice, and goes slow enough to allow new readers to follow along. Most audio apps have an option to change the speed even slower (.75) if a striving reader needs this option.

I loved offering this to my sons to listen to in the car and at bedtime. They like action adventures but at night, need a comforting story that won't frighten them. Pete the Cat on audio always fits the bill.
