Cute, cute cute! I felt this was a story showing how many grandparents are today. They are far more active and "hip". It's been awhile since I've read this, but I remember thinking it was a fun book

I envy those who have wonderful and loving grandparents.

But... how cool is it to say yea, my grandparents are legit rockstars.

Such a lovely book - this acknowledges that grandparents are (for the most part) rockstars as they love with all their heart. Or in my case, they could have.

This was a book with delightful illustrations and story of how grandparents are so special in their own ways. I read it to my kids and they loved it, especially the interactive portions asking about their grandparents.

I loved this adorable book celebrating grandparents of all kinds! Grandparents can rock even if they are plumbers or teachers, they don't have to be famous rock stars. This little book just exudes joy, in the lyrical text and the bright pictures depicted grandparents of all kinds. Just delightful!

I love that this book centers around something so near and dear to my heart - GRANDPARENTS. I love that through the book you get to meet so many amazing grandparents - all with unique talents and interests. The illustrations how that grandparents don't fit the normal reference of grey/white hair and glasses of how grandparents were always portrayed in the books I grew up with. So I love seeing the diversity and uniqueness of those illustrated to match the beautiful words.

Pat Benatar rocks. And so does her husband. Whether on stage or writing a children’s book, there is plenty to love. In the music business love may be a battlefield, but these musicians love for their grandchildren is a playground of happiness. You can see that in this the book that celebrates not just their grandchildren, but the art of being a grandparent. They’re all different. They’re all special and they’re all unique and all filled with love. I quite enjoyed this book and while it’s written by a celebrity, it’s written by one who knows what they’re doing.

A colorful, beautifully illustrated, and, yes, cute book for children. I've always like Benatar's music, so this collaboration with husband and music collaborator Neil Giraldo was a big yes from the time I spied it listed. While their role as rocking grandparents might seem to get the spotlight, I liked that it also made the point that no matter what your own grandparents might do, they all rock in their own ways. The illustrations add to that, depicting items symbolic of various roles non=rock-n-rollers might take, from being a rock star cookie maker, taking you fishing, teaching or, well, simply loving their grandchildren. Benatar and Giraldo depict different cultures, too, an added plus, as grandparenting has no boundaries. Kudos to them for empathizing that grandparents come in different guises, colors, and may speak different languages .... or like different music.

Bottom line, the text flows.... I'd love to hear it set to music .... and should be a hit with both child and grandparents everywhere. Lots of fun rhymes and illustrations showing not just the Benatar/Giraldo family in action but "average" grandparents with an emphasis that they all rock, too. Seeing the various names used to indicate Grandma and Grandpa was fun and their note that there are other names used out there, too, was a subtle nod to inclusion of all. Thanks #SourcebookKids and #NetGalley for allowing me this early peek at this delightful book by Benatar and Giraldo with the help of illustrator Tiffany Everett who brings the scenes to life. I always knew they rocked as musicians so it's nice to know they are rocking their grandparent roles, too.

Pat Benatar is someone I still recommend for her hard rocking songs, like Wuthering Heights, so it's hilarious to see her and her rock star husband writing a picture book about being hard rocking grandparents. This book is cute, wonderfully illustrated, and very loving and family oriented.

I can’t imagine a GRANDPARENT not loving this book purely based on the authors! Kids will also love celebrating their grandparents and seeing themselves on the pages. The diverse characters and broad representation of humanity is refreshing and will lead to opportunities to share within a classroom or daycare when talking about families and cultures.

This is a fun title for kids, their parents, and, grandparents. Fans of 80s music will feel nostalgic and it is a great family story. The artwork is awesome.

This was so fun and a great length of book. I read it with my 6yo and she was able to read along with me a bit, which was really fun to get her involved.
I loved how the words were all over the page in a way that really made you take in the artwork on every page. And the art!! So incredibly fun and engaging. I also loved all of the representation, and how it was done in a natural way and not in a way that felt like there was an agenda.
I liked that some of the characters look like big artists that the gma and gpas would know as well.
Overall, this was a hit and we will gladly buy this book for our collection.

My Grandma and Grandpa Rock! Is a delightful children’s book by Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo. It’s a sweet story showing how all grandparents rock whether they’re rock stars or have other jobs. My kids enjoyed this book as well. The illustrations are beautiful as well. I would definitely recommend!

I really enjoyed reading My Grandma and Grandpa Rock! This is fun, simple and inclusive story about grandparents of all kinds.
This would be a great book for a grandparents story time or a recommendation for grandparents who love reading with their grandkids.
This picture book was just the way I like them; short, funny, engaging and the pictures were great!

I cruised through my teens listening to Pat Benatar. Not only can I share my love of her music with my grandchildren, but I can also share this book. It is a fun and lighthearted read. We can all be rock stars!

This was a great little book about special things grandparents do. Some are actual rock stars, some are pilots. But their most important job is "loving you!" It was well written and beautifully illustrated.
It is a wonderful book for grandparents to share with their grandkids, and just spending time together. It would also make a great addition to any library.

Grandmas and grandpas rock, indeed. I'm looking forward to the official release so I can buy it for my own library, and I definitely know some folks who would enjoy reading this with their grandkids. The clever double play on the word "rock" throughout the book, and the infectious joy that each grandchild shows in spending time with their beloved grandparents are evident on each page. The illustration are bright and spot-on (any Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo fan will tell you) and the diversity in terms of ethnicity, ability and grandparent pairings will make any child feel welcome.

One of the big appeals of this book is the way that is shows how ALL grandparents are cool, regardless of their interests, abilities and personality types; what makes them rock is the love that they have for the little people in their lives, and the way that they make time for them doing activities that they all enjoy. As a reader, I enjoyed the message for children to appreciate their grandparents for their uniqueness, and that all of their relationships and experiences are important and special. Even when making contrasts, such as between the rocker grandma and grandpa versus the more reserved and quiet ones, each of them are celebrated and neither one is viewed as being more cool or fun than the other.

The portrayal of active grandparents who are enjoying their lives and participating in activities is also a joy to read, as well as something true to life. It's important to see older and elderly adults having a large scope of interests and continuing to move about and spend time with others, versus settling into the stereotypes of automatic dotage that are still prevalent in many children's books. The grandmas and grandpas here are shown in a variety of careers across different fields. At the same time, the book reinforces that even if their grandparents don't work, that's also fine. All in all this book is done wonderfully.
