I loved this story! My daughter loves music, loves singing and loves her grandparents so this one was a *hit* for sure! I will be grabbing this one when it comes out and right in time for grandparents day!

A super cute story with a great message: grandparents rock! I can see this book being a fun gift for new grandparents (or even to your own parents when announcing your pregnancy). It would be fun for grands to read it with their grandkids. Fun, colorful illustrations and a cute story about how grandparents can be so many different things. I really liked that they acknowledged the many names that grandparents can go by. Definitely worth checking out--I am planning to buy a few copies of this for friends who are becoming grandparents.

Although this book is about grandparents, it is more inclusive when it introduces the term' grandperson,' as not every child has a grandparent in their life. The book focuses on musical grandparents because the grandparent authors are musical. However, the book suggests that "grandpersons" come from all professional backgrounds. The book introduces the reader to various names children call their "grandpersons," and this adds a diverse element to the book. What all "grandpersons" have in common, despite their profession or nickname, is that they love their grandchildren. "Grandpersons" who grew up loving Pat Benatar's music will especially appreciate this book.

A cute picture book with colorful illustrations throughout. This is cute for younger audiences and could also be a good gift for grandparents to have to read aloud with grandkids.

Rock star singer Pat Benetar and her husband and lead guitarist Neil Giraldo are still going strong. This cute picture book that celebrates grandparents in all walks of life shows kids that Grandma and Grandpa can be cool, interesting people. The cute rhymes talk about all the ways that grandparents have things that make them special. The colorful pictures by Tiffany Everett show lots of kinds and grandparents having fun. I am usually disappointed by celebrity picture books, but since I can remember rocking out to their music, I had to take a peek at this one. My young grandkid loved this and I did too.

I thought this book was really cute, I loved that we get to see other sides of grandparents and artists I'm familiar with. My 4 yo enjoyed listening to me read this book and he loves seeing pictures of people playing instruments. I would definitely read this again.

Small children can tend to be, shall we say, narrowly focused? On themselves? This book gently shows grandchildren that their grandparents might have a life after they visit them, that they are actually people with full and interesting lives. Colorful illustrations full of action show grandparents of all stripes being active and fully engaged.

If there was ever a picturebook that should have a song included.....

Celebrity picture book are usually pretty meh but this one…well, it rocked. I loved everything about it—it was a solid story about having grandparents that don’t fit the doddering elderly mold. The illustrations are great, with diverse characters. At one point, they talk about different jobs/hobbies a grandparent might have, and I was pleased to see that they flipped the gender roles on a lot of them! This would be a great story time book, as well as a cozy lap sit one with grandma or grandpa.

This is an awesome book that truly *rocks*! However, I do think that it seemed like the central idea got a little lost halfway through the book. What I mean by this is that it started to become less about grandparents that specifically rock, and more about any type of grandparent. If lots of diversity was the goal, then great! But, I found myself becoming a bit confused because the punk tone got a little lost.
However, that was the only thing about this book that slightly tripped me up. Literally everything else about this book was stellar, and I had a blast reading this story by Pat Benatar. The rhyming was perfect, the illustrations were adorable, and I have no doubt that kids everywhere will fall in love with this book. Bravo!

My Grandma and Grandpa Rock! by Pat Benatar and Niel Geraldo, with illustrations by Tiffany Everett, is not only a lyrical read-aloud storybook celebrating various types of grandparents from all walks of life, it is full of beautiful pictures sure to catch the eye and keep even the youngest in the family spellbound.
This is a must have book for music lovers and musicians alike, and for grandparents in general. Members of the family might wish we grandparents be sedate and calm, but as this book shows, we will not go peacefully into retirement and grandparenthood. This book is a delightful, fun read, and sure t become a favourite on many families' bookshelves.
Thank you to #NetGalley for the ARC of #MyGrandmaandGrandpaRock. I know this is one book I'll be sure to share with out granddaughter.

I just adore My Grandma and Grandpa by Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo—it’s such a fun, upbeat celebration of grandparents being their awesome, unique selves. This lyrical read-aloud captures grandparents rocking out in all kinds of ways—whether they’re belting out tunes, dancing like no one’s watching, or just living life to the fullest.

What makes this book stand out is how it honors every kind of grandparent, from plumbers to yoga instructors to full-on rock stars (literally!). The playful rhythm and joyful energy make it a perfect pick for storytime, especially if you want to remind kids (and adults!) that grandparents can be cool, quirky, and totally unforgettable.

If you’re looking for a book that’s full of heart, music, and celebration, this one’s a real gem!

While those familiar with the authors will pick up the book, it isn’t as good as their music. I was disappointed. It may strike a chord with the reader, but not expecting it to be a favorite for the listener.
