Oh my heart. Someone asked me if this book was “exodus” level sad.. and I said no, but it does hurt your heart. Well... They asked me too soon. This book destroyed me! I sobbed for a good 40mins while reading this book. What an emotional read.

I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars because it deserves so much more! Kate Stewart really pulled out all the stops with this masterpiece. I remember when Kate said that Tyler wasn’t ’speaking’ to her and we weren’t likely to get a book, but I’m so glad that our Raven boy started telling her his angst age gap story and WHAT A STORY that is! Two books for Tyler! We don’t deserve you Kate! This is a monster of a book but I savoured every moment. I loved that we got so much detail from Tyler’s childhood. The love story between Tyler & Delphine is one that will never leave me. I dare say she is my favourite KS FMC & that is a massive call. This story is heartbreakingly beautiful but I feel so grateful to have experienced every single emotion that Kate Stewart wrenched from the scattered pieces of my heart that survived OLRD. This book is easily my top read of 2025. Go read it… just go

I didn’t just read Severed Heart… this book finished me. I took my time with it, soaking in every page, but nothing could’ve prepared me for the emotional wreckage Kate Stewart left me in, even expecting some angsty moments. Tyler and Delphine’s story is heartbreakingly beautiful. Watching Tyler grow—into both a man and a soldier—was raw, real, and unforgettable. And Delphine? I enjoyed getting to know her and her heart.

I finished read this story late into the night with tears in my eyes, absolutely wrecked in the best way. Kate Stewart did what she does best with this story… it’s tragic, it’s stunning, it’s everything. If you’ve read this, I know you fell for Tyler too… and probably raised your standards a little (okay, a lot). To be loved like that? I can’t even fathom it. But my God… the ache, the beauty… it’s unforgettable.

Stock up on tissues before you dive in—consider that your only warning. Easily 5 stars. I cannot wait to see where Tyler’s journey leads next in the Legacy series. Phenomenal read.

It’s been two years since Kate surprised us with the Ravenhood Legacy series and its heartbreaking start with Dom’s story. Now she is back at it again with the second book and it’s all about the first half of Tyler’s story. And let me just tell you, you must get ready (again) for a roller coaster of emotions. I don’t know how Kate does it, but she nails it EVERY SINGLE TIME. I am just overwhelmed after finishing this masterpiece of a book because I felt every emotion possible while falling all over again with this world that keeps surprising us.

Severed Heart: The Birth of a Warrior is the second installment in this series, and it develops the growth of Tyler Jenning’s life and personality as he becomes the warrior of the Ravenhood and the man who will do everything in his power to keep loving the scarred woman that is as brave and strong as he is. Tyler and Delphine’s love story is not an easy one. Besides the age gap (the one aspect that Delphine “uses” in the first half to stop her relationship with Tyler from happening), this couple, as years go by, go through every experience together: anger, deception, hate, love, heartbreak, happiness, pain and even death.

“With you, I feel cherished, adored, sexy, so sexy, respected, desired, heard, and seen. And for the first time in my life, loved. I feel truly and deeply loved.”

As I said, Severed Heart is a full-on wild ride. Kate sure knows how to make us wait and suffer through the slow burn until the couple finally acts on their feelings. Tyler and Delphine, as you’ll experience, must deal with so many difficulties in their relationship. These two face life in another way, in a way that many of us do not have to go through at all. And while we get to have a beautiful friendship at the start, a friendship that turns sour after and then a love story that makes us swoon, melt and cry, Kate also makes us feel all those feels that get extremely heavy. As I mentioned, this one is not an easy read but it’s so worth it because Kate is such a talented author and she keeps making us fall in love with The Ravenhood.

“I loved you through space and time before, and I’ll do it again. I’ll do it again.”

Therefore, as you can imagine, and even though I cried my eyes out as I finished it, I am rating Severed Heart with 5 STARS, because Kate Stewart just keeps getting better as the series goes on. I loved Tyler and Delphine together, I also loved them as individuals, as fighters, as warriors. These two have such a unique love story, a chemistry that burns hot and a heartbreaking ending. As I said, 100% worth it but not easy at all. I also loved getting to see all my favorite characters and getting to know more about this amazing world that Kate has created. I seriously cannot wait to read the next book in the series! Let us all suffer together as we wait for the second half of Tyler’s story. Again, I am completely sure that Birds of a Feather will be worth the wait!

OMG! This was everything that I didnt know that I needed. Im a Dom girlie through and through but Tyler was always my second favorite and I always wanted to know the story behind him and Delphine. I loved being able to get to know Tyler and Delphine through their childhoods. I was definitely able to understand and enjoy both characters even more by knowing their back stories. While Dom has my heart, ive know split it in half and given Tyler the other half. This was beautiful in more ways than I can explain. You just have to read it for yourself.

Fans of this author, and the Ravenhood series, will know how this story ends. If you have not read the Ravenhood series first it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you read those titles before jumping into the Legacy series!!

Here is what I will say about this title without spoiling the book too much, we owe Tyler a thank you for holding the group together for so many years. I don’t know that there would have been a Ravenhood series if Tyler wasn’t such a good soldier that loved everyone in his life so much.

I owe Delphine a massive apology for judging her so hard in the Ravenhood books!! The torture and abuse she lived through was so incredibly hard to read. I hate that she didn’t get a HEA but so glad she was able to have happiness with Tyler before she died.

This is one of those books that will have you reading till way beyond bedtime, crying into a handful of tissues, and then wondering how the world is still turning when you are heartbroken over your favorite fictional characters.

Seriously, you will need tissues! So many tissues!!
